Chapter 59 Did you two meet through legitimate channels?

Chapter 59 Did you two meet through legitimate channels?

Outside the window, the night was filtered into a hazy deep blue by the curtains; inside, orange light diffused in the corners.

When Luo Yan came out of the bathroom drying her hair, Jiang Sui was still sitting in front of the computer, frowning as he looked at the charts on the screen.

"Still busy?" She walked over and put her arm around his shoulder from behind.

"There's a problem with one of the parameters..."

Jiang Sui reached out and touched her hair, which was still slightly damp. "Dry your hair and go to sleep first. I'll be there in a while."

"Okay, don't stay up too late."

Luo Yan bent down and kissed his cheek, then went to the bedroom.

A moment later, Jiang Sui also came in, her body still damp from her recent shower.

Luo Yan was lying on her side scrolling through short videos when she felt movement behind her, so she quickly tucked her phone under her pillow.

"Stop hiding." Jiang Sui lay down behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into his embrace, his lazy voice filled with laughter: "I saw everything."

Luo Yan was a little embarrassed, "Uh... Granny Rong tagged me..."

"You like watching men dance so much?" Jiang Sui rubbed against the back of her neck, sending a shiver down her spine.

"What normal woman wouldn't like that?" Luo Yan said deliberately, turning over and stroking his jawline with her fingers. "Isn't it because you won't dance for me? Otherwise, who else could catch my eye?"

Jiang Sui looked down at her, her gaze unreadable.

“My previous price was 600 yuan per dance, but the current market price would be double that. But for an honest and upright civil servant like you, isn’t it inappropriate to engage in ‘money-for-sex’ transactions?”

"You're still taking my money? You're my boyfriend, can't you..."

Luo Yan realized that continuing the conversation would be undignified, so she pretended to be angry and turned over again.

"Can't I do something?" Jiang Sui leaned closer, her voice low and soft, "Pleasure you?"

Luo Yan was shocked; she had gone too far!

Before she could react, Jiang T flipped over and pressed down on her, skillfully using his knee to spread her legs apart.

"etc……"

Luo Yan, remembering the aches and pains in her back and legs after each workout, and how her eyelids would droop when staring at the computer screen the next day, quickly stopped him, "Don't you still have work problems to solve?"

“No rush,” Jiang Sui said unhurriedly, “There are more important things to do now.”

Luo Yan blinked: "I want to try a different way of communicating..."

Jiang Sui frowned and stood up slightly. "I just want to try a different position."

"Too frequent occurrences are detrimental to...sustainable development..."

"Frequently? We haven't seen each other for five days."

Luo Yan: "..."

I miss him terribly, but I just don't want to express it this way all the time.

"If you don't want to, then rest today." Jiang Sui kissed her forehead after saying that. "I'm going to send an email. Go to sleep first."

Luo Yan watched him get up, pick up the shirt from the bedside and put it on. As he moved, the muscles in his shoulders, back and arms rippled and tightened slightly. The bedroom wall lamp cast a hazy glow on his face, giving him a somewhat languid sexiness.

Her breath caught in her throat, and she drifted off into a daze.

Jiang Sui noticed her gaze and looked up. Luo Yan suddenly lowered her head, grabbed her phone and pretended to watch videos, but her fingers were so stiff that she couldn't swipe at all.

No, hold on! You have principles! You absolutely cannot be swayed by beauty!

"What are you looking at? It's that creepy look again."

"N-nothing!"

Luo Yan recoiled as if burned, pulling the thin blanket over half her face. Her gaze once again swept uncontrollably over his unbuttoned chest, and the battle between angels and devils began in her mind.

Angel: Cheer up! Think about your aching back! Think about how sleepy you are during meetings! Lust is a dangerous thing!

Devil: Have you become a monk? Sustainable development? Five days! I haven't seen him for 120 hours! Now, immediately, right now, tackling him is the only way!

In the end, the devil once again overwhelmingly kicked the angel away.

Just as Jiang Sui finished dressing and was about to leave, Luo Yan hugged him from behind: "Um... how about... resting tomorrow?"

A triumphant smile flashed across Jiang Sui's eyes as he turned and pulled Luo Yan, who was still struggling with her "principles," into his arms.

"Okay, I'll rest again tomorrow."

"Weren't you going to send an email?"

"What email?"

"...You're trying to trick me again?!"

Luo Yan buried her face in the crook of his neck and muttered softly, "It's all your fault..."

Jiang Sui lowered his head, a warm kiss landing on her lips, his deep voice carrying a hint of amusement:

"Yes, it's my fault."

As the moon sets and the sun rises, the long night seems to become exceptionally short.

The next day after get off work, Luo Yan had just gone upstairs when she encountered Xu Jingfei, who had come uninvited.

What auspicious day is it today? Why would Ms. Xu, who has always ignored her, actually come to her door in person?

"Why didn't you call ahead and launch a surprise attack?"

"Just passing by, thought I'd pop in to check on things... How's the cat Luo Muyang brought?"

"You mean Jiang Xiaosui?" Luo Yan took out her keys and opened the door. "A lively little cat."

“Jiang Xiaosui?” Xu Jingfei’s tone was tinged with sarcasm. “This name… never mind, I’m too lazy to talk about you.”

"It's good that you don't tell me; I won't listen anyway."

The door opened, and Jiang Xiaosui, who had been sleeping on the sofa, got up, stretched, and ran over to rub against Luo Yan's leg with her tail held high, tilting her head to stare at Xu Jingfei.

Luo Yan ruffled Jiang Xiaosui's fluffy head, then turned to look at Xu Jingfei. As soon as she came in, she stood in front of the bookshelf, her fingers brushing over the spines of the books, her posture as elegant as if she were browsing an art exhibition.

"Didn't you say you were coming to see the cats? Are you not even going to pretend anymore?"

Xu Jingfei paced back and forth in the small living room, her eyes sweeping over the men's slippers on the lower shelf of the shoe cabinet in the entryway, to the pair of couple's coffee cups placed together on the coffee table, and finally landing on the two toothbrushes, one red and one blue, in the bathroom.

After pacing around a couple of times, she sat down on the sofa. "The cat is well taken care of, and the house is kept relatively clean. The person is still a bit silly. I hope Jiang Sui hasn't bullied them?"

"I knew looking at cats was just an excuse. Has the proud Ms. Xu now evolved a gossipy heart?"

Just as Luo Yan was thinking about how to get rid of Xu Jingfei as quickly as possible, the door lock clicked open.

Jiang Sui walked in carrying two supermarket shopping bags. When she saw Xu Jingfei, she nodded politely and said, "Auntie is here."

Xu Jingfei's gaze swept over the dishes in Jiang Sui's hands and Luo Yan's slightly uneasy face, and she nodded: "Yes, is President Jiang going to cook himself?"

"I don't have much work at the company today, so I have time to cook dinner." Jiang Sui said casually, seemingly oblivious to the probing in her voice. "If Auntie doesn't mind, would you like to have a simple meal with us?"

"Okay, let's try Mr. Jiang's cooking."

Xu Jingfei readily agreed and adopted a waiting posture.

Luo Yan had a feeling that Xu Jingfei was up to no good, but she couldn't figure out what she wanted to do. Was she just curious and spying on their lives?

"I'll help you."

Luo Yan followed Jiang Sui into the kitchen; helping out was better than awkwardly chatting with Xu Jingfei.

Jiang Sui looked at Xu Jingfei, who was peeking out from outside the door, and said, "Go and talk to Auntie. I can handle things here."

"Mr. Jiang, you may not know this, but Luo Yan has never really talked to me since we were little, and of course, I haven't really talked to her much either."

Xu Jingfei leaned against the kitchen door with her arms crossed, watching Jiang Sui busily working. Luo Yan stood to the side, tidying up a scallion, peeling a garlic clove, and wiping Jiang Sui's sweat with a tissue; she seemed quite busy as well.

"Mr. Jiang doesn't seem like someone who can cook."

"I learned it while studying abroad, and I do it whenever I have time."

"How old is Mr. Jiang this year? What month is his birthday?"

"Thirty, my birthday is November 6th."

Luo Yan was taken aback. "November 6th? Then you're not a Capricorn!"

No wonder I couldn't handle him before; turns out I'd been flipping through the wrong pages of his textbook!

Jiang Sui's expression darkened slightly: "You don't know my birthday?"

"I might... be mistaken..."

Luo Yan scratched her head guiltily. She had once glimpsed that Jiang Sui had filled in 116 in the date of birth column, and she had taken it for granted without looking carefully. It turned out to be 11.6. A small mistake can lead to a huge error.

"You don't even know it's my birthday..."

Jiang Sui glanced at her and casually replied, "June 3rd, Gemini, blood type AB, born in the Year of the Ox."

Luo Yan: "..."

That was too hasty.

"You used to remember Wu Yuzhou's zodiac sign and blood type perfectly, so why are you so careless about President Jiang?" Xu Jingfei added fuel to the fire at the right moment, as if she wanted to stir up trouble.

Luo Yan rolled her eyes at him fiercely, "Just keep your mouth for eating!"

Xu Jingfei continued to say to Jiang Sui, "President Jiang is so outstanding, you must have quite a rich romantic history, right? I heard from Luo Muyang that even Fei Yang has quite a few girls who like you, so why did you choose Luo Yan? Is it because she's naive and easy to manipulate?"

Jiang Suimiao replied, "She chose me."

"You're quite the smooth talker..." Xu Jingfei's smile was enigmatic. "President Jiang's emotional intelligence is truly high; he knows exactly what to say to make a girl happy."

Luo Yan couldn't help but interject, "Ms. Xu, please wait outside. There's a lot of smoke in here; don't let it make your carefully cared-for face turn yellow!"

Xu Jingfei glanced at her and continued, "President Jiang, how is everything at home? I heard your father is a bit difficult to get along with?"

Jiang Sui plated the stir-fried dishes and said calmly, "My dad has a bad temper, and we do have some conflicts, but I can still make my own decisions about my own affairs."

“It’s normal for someone to have a temper when managing such a large operation as Mingsheng, but… your boss Luo Muyang doesn’t know about this yet, right? It’s not good that you’re not being honest with his daughter.”

The more Luo Yan listened, the more suspicious she became. Xu Jingfei wasn't just gossiping; she had come specifically to interrogate Jiang Sui.

Jiang Sui calmly replied, "You're right. I plan to find an opportunity to explain things to President Luo soon."

"It's better to explain yourself than to be found out. People who don't know might think you have ulterior motives, right?"

Xu Jingfei glanced at Luo Yan meaningfully, "By the way, how did you two meet? Where did you first meet?"

The two of them paused for a moment, exchanged a knowing glance, and then remained silent, continuing with their own tasks.

Xu Jingfei sensed something was amiss and probed further: "On the day the results were announced last year, Luo Yan ran away and didn't come home all night. When she returned the next day, she reeked of alcohol. That BV shirt... was it yours, President Jiang? Did you two meet through legitimate channels?"

Luo Yan: "..."

Jiang Sui: "..."
