Chapter 101 The Fame Remains

"Don't you know the general's temper? Once he gets angry, not even ten oxen can stop him. He won't stop until we're dead."

The shorter man spoke slowly, with an expression that seemed to know everything, "Besides, wouldn't it be better to let the general dampen their spirits?"

He couldn't stand Yu Wei and his gang's arrogant and disdainful attitude, especially Lu Qin, whom Yu Wei had personally trained. Lu Qin was clearly a stray dog, yet he always flaunted his power in front of others, demanding supplies and weapons, without even raising his head when General Wu spoke.

What are you pretending for?

The tall man pondered for a moment, then turned and left.

The short man didn't participate in the rescue operation, but he did, and he knew how Yu Wei's injuries were caused.

Yu Wei ordered them to retreat first with the refugees and some supplies, while he and his men stayed behind to cover the rear. Most of those who retreated first were Wu Ming's men, more than two-thirds of those covering the rear were his men, and the remaining one-twelfth were Lu Qin's men.

The rebels outnumbered them three to one and were equipped with high-end weapons. It was only by divine intervention that Yu Wei survived.

Unfortunately, even though Yu Wei was seriously injured, he could not escape punishment. Merit is merit and demerit is demerit, and no one can change this ironclad rule.

Even someone of Yu Wei's high status could not escape it.

Wu Ming abruptly pulled away, and Lu Qin's eyes trembled slightly. He leaned back weakly in the chair, letting Wu Ming do as he pleased.

"pain?"

Wu Ming finished dressing and held Lu Qin in his arms.

Ironically, Lu Qin, who weighs over 100 pounds, feels weightless when lifted up.

Omega and Alpha: an inherent difference in power.

Lu Qin laboriously lifted his eyelids, glanced at it, and parted his thin lips slightly: "Get lost."

"Still have the energy to curse?" Wu Ming chuckled softly, smoothing the stray hairs that clung to Lu Qin's forehead. "Want me to carry you back to rest?"

"Get out... um..."

Lu Qin didn't even have the strength to glare at him anymore, and since he couldn't do anything about this scoundrel, he could only close his eyes and try to avoid seeing him.

"That's a good boy." Wu Ming tapped Lu Qin's forehead with satisfaction. "Anyway, there's no chance between you and your chairman anymore, so why don't you just be open about it and come with me?"

"Shut up!" Lu Qin struggled to open his leaden eyelids and glared at him. "My affairs are none of your business."

"Hey, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Why don't you look at other girls?" Wu Ming pouted, pulling Lu Qin into his arms. "Are you really going to hang yourself on Yu Wei's tree?"

"It's none of your business."

Lu Qin turned his face away. He felt nothing but admiration and gratitude towards Yu Wei.

He knew Yu Zhen's purpose in transferring him to Yu Wei's side, but he never had any thoughts about him that went beyond that of a superior and subordinate.

He had no idea what was going on in Wu Ming's head, that he would actually think he liked Yu Wei; it was simply ridiculous.

In his eyes, Yu Wei was his boss, his idol, and also a big brother who took good care of him.

He would die for him, but it was definitely not liking, much less love.

"You guys are really interesting." Wu Ming shrugged and patted Lu Qin on the back. "Let's rest here for a while before we go."

If he takes Lu Qin out, people will start gossiping again.

"It's none of your business!"

Something must have provoked Lu Qin, because Lu Qin started to struggle. Wu Ming, afraid of accidentally hurting him, simply let go.

Lu Qin slowly stood up, supporting himself on the table. He took a small step, and an excruciating pain instantly spread throughout his body, stimulating his brain.

"I told you to be careful!" Wu Ming said, exasperated, as he stood up and helped Lu Qin up. "Why are you so stubborn?"

"I don't need your pretense."

Lu Qin forcefully shook off Wu Ming's hand, his body swaying, almost falling to the ground again.

"Fine, I'll pretend, okay?" Wu Ming laughed in exasperation, stepped forward and pulled Lu Qin into his arms, heading straight for the clothes he had just put on.

What are you doing?

Lu Qin's face turned pale. She tried to push Wu Ming away, but she was too weak to move, and her expression became a mix of reluctance and acceptance.

"You!" Wu Ming quickly stripped Lu Qin of his clothes. "You're so stubborn, aren't you? You're so powerful, aren't you? You don't need me to do anything with you, do you? Once you're unconscious, you'll be at my mercy."

"You...you...you beast! Let me go!"

Lu Qin's face was pale, and his thin lips were bloodless. He placed his only good hand on Wu Ming's shoulder, trying to stop him from making his next move.

"Keep cursing, I'm listening." Wu Ming wrapped his arms tightly around Lu Qin's waist, forcing him to slowly move closer, his deep voice like the whisper of a demon: "The louder you are, the happier I am."

"Pervert! Get out of here!"

Compared to hooligans, Lu Qin's vocabulary of swear words was far too limited; he could only repeat the same few phrases over and over again.

"Didn't your Chairman Yu tell you never to argue with hooligans?"

Wu Ming chuckled, biting Lu Qin's lip and swallowing all his voice.

Lu Qin felt like he was going crazy. How could he have gotten involved with a lunatic like Wu Ming? He also felt increasingly sorry for Yu Wei, who was lying in the hospital bed. He wanted to kill Lin Gu to avenge Yu Wei and beat Wu Ming to vent his anger, but now he was doing this kind of thing with him.

Overwhelmed by pain and guilt, Lu Qin could no longer hold back, and large tears streamed down her face as she bit her lip and sobbed.

Meeting Lu Qin's complicated gaze, Wu Ming panicked and felt instantly uncertain.

Although Yu Wei was protective of his son, his methods of training soldiers were the best among his peers, and his men were all incredibly capable, the kind who wouldn't utter a sound even when shot.

Especially Lu Qin, what kind of situation hasn't he seen with Yu Wei? He didn't even lift his eyelids in the face of the huge explosion, and if he hadn't been injured, he might not have been able to beat him.
