Milk-flavored steamed buns weren't idle either. Seizing the opportunity, they stepped on the elephant's tusks, used the momentum to jump onto the elephant's back, and tore off a large piece of skin and flesh from its neck.
"A good opportunity."
Yu Zhen used his miniature aircraft to dodge Hao Xiang's pillar-like legs, glided to the top of Hao Xiang's head, and raised the iron rod to drive it heavily into Hao Xiang's head.
The fragile skull was no match for the sharp black iron rod, which pierced straight through the elephant's massive head with unstoppable force.
"Bang!"
The massive body crashed to the ground, causing the entire laboratory to shake violently once again.
Zhou Siyu steadied herself by leaning against the wall, brushed the dust off the mecha with one hand, and looked helplessly at Yu Zhen, who was busy showing off.
Yu Zhen gracefully stood up, pulled out the iron skewer, and gave Zhou Siyu a wicked and arrogant smile. "I told you, I would give you a live demonstration of how to skewer and roast pig."
"What's wrong with you? Why are you trying to look cool?"
Zhou Siyu sighed and rubbed her forehead, incredibly relieved that Yu Zhen was usually normal enough not to toss her hair or wink. She then spoke in a domineering, high-pitched voice, as if holding a dozen slippers between her fingers: "Did you see clearly? If not, I'll teach you again..."
"Tell me, wasn't that move I just made cool?"
Yu Zhen shook off the bloodstains on his helmet, took out a handkerchief, and carefully wiped the iron rod as he walked.
"So handsome, so incredibly handsome!"
While giving a perfunctory reply, Zhou Siyu walked over to the milk-scented steamed bun that had returned to its normal size, patted its head, and took out food from her spatial storage to feed it.
"Was Hao Xiang's arrow effective?"
While feeding the elephant milk-flavored steamed buns, Zhou Siyu looked at its enormous body and the expensive-looking spikes on its body.
"As a decoration?"
Zhou Yu glanced at it casually and fell into deep thought.
He suddenly felt that his son was like a naive child who had never seen the world and wanted to bring home everything he saw.
"Huh? It's not used for anything else?"
Zhou Siyu pouted, "What a waste of such a beautiful arrow."
"Fangs might still be worth a few dollars on the black market."
Zhou Yu couldn't bear to hurt his young heart. The money that fangs could fetch on the black market was less than what Zhou Siyu could earn from negotiating a small project.
"Oh, then we can knock it off and take it." Zhou Siyu stroked his chin and thought for a few seconds, then looked at the milk-flavored steamed bun and said, "It should be a good teething toy for the milk-flavored steamed bun."
"Um?"
Zhou Yu wondered if he had misheard. Although it wouldn't fetch much money, who would give something worth tens of thousands of yuan to their pet to chew on?
"It's all for nothing, all that effort for nothing." Yu Zhen kicked Hao Xiang's body in disgust. "The meat is too tough, it won't taste good when roasted."
"This is a mutant, can you really bring yourself to eat it?"
Zhou Siyu gave Yu Zhen a disdainful look. Why did this guy want to put everything in his mouth to try it?
"So what? When we were starving, we even ate rats. This is nothing."
The technology of transporting supplies across time and space has only been used in the last three years. In the past, when going on a mission, we would plan to go for a few days and bring enough food for that number of days. If we encountered an emergency, after we ran out of food, we could only make do with whatever we had on hand and eat whatever we could find. We didn't care at all whether the food we ate had bacteria or what the consequences might be.
“Actually, there shouldn’t be a big problem eating mutants, but this meat is really too old.” Zhou Yu shook his head with regret. “The meat of the giant elephant is at its best when it is three months old. It is tender and elastic, and it is perfect for hot pot.”
"Have you eaten there?"
Zhou Siyu decided to stay away from these two scoundrels whose minds were only on eating, drinking and having fun. Please, we are on an adventure, not participating in a food show.
"Of course! Otherwise, do you think I've survived here for over twenty years by drinking dew?"
Although he sometimes goes into hibernation, it doesn't mean he doesn't need to eat or drink. He gets hungry too!
“If you hadn’t told me, I would have really thought you could live on dew.” Zhou Siyu waved his hand, took out his tools, quickly knocked off the fangs, and tossed one to Yu Zhen: “Here, it’s not easy to come all this way, keep this as a souvenir, and tell Lin Nianyu about your glorious deeds later.”
"Hey, sister-in-law, I almost forgot about that." Yu Zhen put away her fangs and laughed, "That little brat was talking about you a while ago."
“I didn’t expect him to still remember me.” Zhou Siyu said while cleaning his fangs, “Is his seventh birthday coming up soon? Looks like I need to make time to go back to the base.”
"Seven years old? I remember it being eight."
Yu Zhen scratched his head. He'd been having a blast lately and had completely forgotten about Lin Nianyu and Lin Gou.
"You, as his father, can't even remember..."
Zhou Yu let out a merciless laugh, only realizing halfway through that he didn't even know how old Zhou Siyu was.
"Be careful, there's a lot more to come."
Zhou Siyu really didn't want to spend time on this topic. He was very averse to topics like age and birthdays. It was fine to talk about them occasionally, but if it went on for a long time, he would go crazy.
Yu Zhen glanced at the dark corridor, his expression grave.
The Ghost Hand Vine had disappeared, and who knows what else awaited them in the corridor.
The thought of countless cold-blooded creatures, like sand snakes, crawling all over his face made Yu Zhen's hair stand on end.
"What are you afraid of? We'll beat them up one by one, or two by two, right, baby?"
Zhou Yu nudged Zhou Siyu, who lowered his eyes and softly hummed in agreement. His thick eyelashes covered his eyes, making it impossible to discern his thoughts.
How could anyone like celebrating their birthday? Each birthday brings you a year older and one step closer to death.
But he... still couldn't help but look forward to it, to the surprise Yu Wei had hidden behind him, to seeing his smiling face.
