"I will, thank you for reminding me, Grandpa Zhou." Yu Wei blocked the old man's searching gaze and smiled, "Let me help you pack your luggage."
"No need, no need, everything's already packed. The car's outside. Can you help me carry my luggage over?"
"Okay, wait a minute, I'll go put on a coat."
The old man smiled and nodded, staring at the closed door in deep thought.
"I'm going out for a bit. You stay here and don't move."
Yu Wei pulled the blanket over Zhou Siyu, took a coat from the closet and put it on, then went out and left with the old man.
Zhou Siyu rolled his eyes. Yu Wei really overestimated him. Where could he possibly go in his current paralyzed state?
Yu Wei slowly returned to the room, almost falling asleep while waiting. Zhou Siyu raised her eyes unhappily.
"I bought some food." Yu Wei placed the items on the table. "Go wash up first, then..."
"Do I look like someone who can accomplish this great task on my own?" Zhou Siyu rolled her eyes. How could this guy be so inconsiderate?
"Oh, then...I...I'll carry you there."
Yu Wei coughed awkwardly and pulled the person, blanket and all, into his arms.
Carrying him into the bathroom, Yu Wei immediately closed the door and fled the area with lightning speed.
Zhou Siyu slowly cleaned herself up, gently knocked on the door and opened it a crack. A set of clothes was handed in. After dressing, she knocked on the door again and opened it. Yu Wei, understanding the situation, stepped forward and gently hugged her, placing her on the soft bed.
"I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I just bought some random things."
Yu Wei found a small table and placed it on the bed, laying out all the food. He actually bought a little of everything.
Zhou Siyu accepted everything offered and ate it all.
He had it all planned out: first, he would eat Yu Wei out of house and home, then trick him into going back and putting him into the lab for research.
As Yu Wei squatted in the bathroom washing bed sheets and duvet covers, he felt a chill run down his spine, as if some treacherous subject was plotting against him!
After eating and drinking to her heart's content, Zhou Siyu let out a satisfied burp, then crawled into bed to catch up on her sleep.
After finishing the laundry, Yu Wei noticed that Zhou Siyu's blanket had slipped to one side. He sighed, tidied the table, pulled the blanket up for Zhou Siyu, and sat on the edge of the bed in a daze.
Reason told him that he shouldn't get entangled with Zhou Siyu in such an ambiguous way, but for some reason, he always unconsciously wanted to get close to him, to protect him, to stay by his side, and to see him smile happily.
A cool sensation slid across his neck, bringing Yu Wei back to his senses. He gripped the amulet around his neck tightly and scratched his hair in frustration.
What was he thinking? How could he let down the person who gave him the amulet and was waiting for him to come home?
"Yu Wei, wake up! There are people waiting for you to come home. How dare you betray them?"
But where is his home?
His mind was blank. He didn't know what he had experienced in the past, where his home was, whether he had any family, or why he had come here.
He had no idea why Zhou Siyu, who had suddenly appeared, would say those things out of the blue, or why she would take a liking to him.
Love at first sight is all nonsense. Perhaps Zhou Siyu is just lying to him, acting on a whim. Once he's had his fun, he'll leave on his own.
"I don't like you..."
"I don't like you..."
"dislike……"
"dislike……"
The cold words suddenly flashed through his mind, and Yu Wei covered his head, squatting on the ground in pain.
"You...like Yunmu, don't you?"
"You like Yunmu, right..."
"I will bring him back..."
“Bring it back…”
More and more images flooded into his brain like a tidal wave, and Yu Wei's forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat as he bit his lip tightly to keep himself from making a sound.
As the pain subsided, Yu Wei slowly collapsed to the ground like a puppet whose soul had been ripped out.
