Chapter 78 I can't take another day of this wretched life.

When Zhou Siyu was mentioned, Yu Wei couldn't help but ramble on and on, saying that her legs no longer ached and her back no longer hurt, and that she could climb sixteen floors in one go.

"What a great opportunity! Why don't you seize it and have a child?"

Zuo Li clicked his tongue and sighed. He had given Yu Wei a chance, but Yu Wei was useless. He was even busier after returning, and they rarely saw each other. He guessed that he would never see his eldest grandson in his lifetime.

He had no children of his own, and for so many years he had treated Yu Wei and Lin Gu as his own sons. Lin Gu was a clever boy who fulfilled his dream of having a grandson, but unfortunately he was too far away to see him.

Yu Wei is such a blockhead. He's been following Zhou Siyu around like an idiot for years, but he's never dared to make a move.

He despises! He deeply despises.

"This isn't something I can decide on my own."

Yu Wei felt wronged. He wanted to, but Zhou Siyu disagreed. What could he do?

"Look at you, you coward."

Zuo Li wanted to slap Yu Wei a few times, but Yu Wei was right. This was something that couldn't be forced; it could only be left to fate.

"Stop pressuring me to have children all the time. You need to think about yourself." Yu Wei glanced at Zuo Li, shook his head and sighed, then looked at him again, shook his head and sighed again. "Old Zuo, it's not that I'm criticizing you, but you haven't found a partner all these years. I'm very worried about you."

"What are you worried about?" Zuo Li asked calmly as he ate his meal. "I have money and time now. It's nice to take a vacation and tend to my flowers."

"Tsk, you'll get old someday."

"I'll capture you to serve me then, or you and Lin Gu can take turns taking care of me. I'll leave my affairs to the two of you after I'm gone."

Everyone must die eventually; Zuo Li had long since accepted this.

"Old Zuo, tell me the truth." Yu Wei, holding a plate, leaned close to Zuo Li and lowered his voice: "Do you have a first love you can't forget, and for various reasons you didn't end up together, so you remained unmarried for life because of him...?"

"Are you out of your mind?" Zuo Li put down his chopsticks, his face full of speechlessness, mixed with worry about Yu Wei's intelligence.

In an era where survival is threatened, who would have the time or inclination to indulge in romance?

"Are you angry?" Yu Wei raised an eyebrow mischievously, giving Zuo Li a sly look, and eagerly pressed for an answer; "Did I guess right? Who is that person? Tell me quickly, maybe I can help you two rekindle your romance..."

"Which eye of yours saw me angry?" Zuo Li put down his chopsticks, pulled out a tissue to slowly wipe his mouth, and was speechless at the owner of the bright eyes burning with gossip. What is this kid looking at all day? He doesn't learn anything good and only learns these crooked ways. He hasn't even sorted out his own affairs yet, but he's busy playing matchmaker for others.

"Hey~ tell me about it." Yu Wei raised an eyebrow and started to use her imagination: "Aunt Bai? Uncle Du? Uncle Li?"

"You talk too much." Zuo Li glared at Yu Wei and said expressionlessly, "You have ten minutes to finish your meal."

"Tsk, that's not fair." Yu Wei hurriedly shoveled a mouthful of rice into his mouth, chewed with his cheeks puffed out, and mumbled, "You're taking revenge for personal reasons."

What can you do to me?

Zuo Li raised his eyelids, glancing sideways at Yu Wei, his eyes full of smugness.

Little brat, he thinks he can't even handle a kid?

"snort."

Yu Wei lowered his head and ate his food in large mouthfuls, looking like a starving ghost. After a whirlwind of eating, he finally finished his meal in ten minutes.

"Hmph, what can you do to me?"

Yu Wei raised an eyebrow smugly, picked up the plate, and walked to the recycling counter.

"I have a meeting. See you in the North Classroom in ten minutes."

Zuo Li completely ignored his provocation, walking with his hands behind his back, appearing slow but actually quite fast.

"oh."

Yu Wei responded, ran to the dormitory, opened the desk cabinet, and rummaged through it to find textbooks he might need.

After asking passersby for directions, I discovered that it would take at least seven or eight minutes to walk from here to the North District.

Yu Wei was on the verge of tears; Zuo Li was really pushing him to the point of exhaustion.

He hasn't had a break all day; he's exhausted.

Yu Wei was walking through the bustling crowd, carrying several thick books, looking utterly dejected, when he was suddenly bumped on the shoulder, pulling him back from his reverie.

"Old Yang? What are you doing here..." Upon seeing the person who came, Yu Wei's eyes lit up, his previous fatigue vanished, and he broke into a smile.

"You didn't expect that, did you? I passed the selection." Yang Lie grinned. "I didn't expect you to come too. Now we'll have company."

"Haha, that's true."

Yu Wei decided not to reveal his true identity to him. After all, as Zuo Li said, he was a general, but his strength was about the same as that of a recruit, which was truly embarrassing.

Why are you carrying so many books?

Yang Lie looked at the book in his hand with a puzzled expression. Nowadays, textbooks are all electronic and are available on the classroom computers, so there's no need to bring a book.

"Haha, I prefer reading physical books."

Yu Wei also noticed this problem. He was already a head taller than others, and with the book in his arms, he stood out the most in the crowd.

The two found a place to sit down. Yu Wei put down his book and followed suit, turning on the button in the upper left corner of the table. A virtual keyboard and virtual screen appeared in front of them. They found the course materials, and the preparation work was complete.

With only a few minutes left before class, Yu Wei simply propped his head up and dozed off.

Unexpectedly, he slept straight through to class, and amidst the chorus of people standing up to greet him, Yu Wei, sitting down, stood out.

"Are you very sleepy, student?"

Zuo Li tapped the table and looked at Yu Wei with a smile.

"Ugh... sleepy... Holy crap! Ah!"

Yu Wei groggily opened his eyes and saw the person he least wanted to see recently. His sleepiness vanished in fright, and he stood up with a start, only to trip over the stool and let out a scream.
