Yu Zhen was so angry that her blood was churning, the veins on her forehead were throbbing, and the chains on her limbs were clanging and jingling incessantly.
The two argued back and forth, and Qin Ye's temples throbbed. He wished he could sew the mouths of the father and son shut with a needle.
How did they manage to turn their argument into a noisy market shopping session?
"Could you two please..."
"Shut up!"
The two glanced at Qin Ye together and continued arguing.
"You little brat, if I hadn't raised you, you'd probably be playing in the mud somewhere right now!"
"What's wrong with me playing in the mud? It's a gift from nature! Have you ever played with it? Pshaw, you've never even played with mud..."
"Believe it or not, I'll beat you to death!"
"Come on, come on, let's have a match, whoever loses is a coward!"
The chains clanged as they were pulled. Qin Ye rubbed his temples; he had no other thoughts but to get out of there as quickly as possible.
These two are specially trained, and ordinary anesthesia is completely ineffective against them.
"Who do you think you are, daring to shit on my head!"
"Who do you think you are, daring to talk back to me?"
"I am your father!"
"You're my dad! So what if you're my dad? If you're blocking my path to wealth, I'll beat you up without hesitation!"
"..."
"..."
Qin Ye's head was throbbing. Just then, there was a knock on the door. Zhou Qi stood at the door and gave him a wink.
"in……"
"I don't know why, but they suddenly started arguing."
"You're sick." Zhou Qi glanced at it, then looked away, his brows furrowed. "Yu Wei's reinforcements have arrived."
"So fast? Impossible!"
"I don't know either, but they haven't realized that Lin Gu and Lin Gang have already betrayed them, so..."
"The same old trick? Anyway, Yu Wei and Yu Zhen are unlikely to send the message out."
"It's worth a try."
"I'll go find Chu Sheng and ask him to make the arrangements."
Qin Ye straightened his clothes, lifted his foot to step past Zhou Qi, and was stopped by Zhou Qi as they passed each other.
"What's up?"
Qin Ye frowned slightly, but quickly composed himself and looked at Zhou Qi gently.
"It's nothing..." Zhou Qi shook his head, released Qin Ye, and forced a smile. "It's nothing, you can go now."
"Um."
Qin Ye nodded, withdrew his hand, and strode away.
Anyone can act.
As Zhou Qi watched Qin Ye's retreating figure, his gaze gradually turned cold.
Both he and Qin Ye were in a weaker position, but that didn't mean he would always be at Chu Sheng's beck and call.
The vines draped over the small window had a clear view of everything. Once Zhou Qi was out of sight, the vines immediately retracted and wandered around the corners, rummaging through drawers and cabinets.
"Ha, found it."
Yu Wei proudly held up a wire in front of Yu Zhen, his tail practically wagging in the air.
The vines deftly untied the shackles on Yu Wei's hands and feet, and Yu Wei rolled off the bed, approaching Yu Zhen with a wire in hand.
"Are you alright? You've lost so much weight."
Looking at the dark circles under his eyes, Yu Zhen felt a pang of heartache. Was it too much to force him to accept all of this?
"You're exhausted from being in the army, and you finally get to go out for a few days, enduring wind and rain. It's no wonder you've lost weight." Yu Wei untied the shackles from Yu Zhen and helped him sit up. "Dad, you've lost a lot of weight too. Here's my advice: gain some weight before you go back to see Lin's father, otherwise he'll look down on you."
"Can we walk?"
Yu Wei noticed that he had many needle marks on his body and was extremely thin, truly looking like a frail willow in the wind.
"Don't underestimate your dad."
Yu Zhen stood up, swayed twice, and almost fell to the ground.
"If you can't walk, don't force yourself." Yu Wei squatted down and carried Yu Zhen on his back. "It's not shameful to carry your own son."
Surprisingly, there were no guards outside the door. Yu Wei carried Yu Zhen on his back and quietly walked up the stairs toward the door at the end of the stairs.
Have you figured out how to get out?
"No, let's take it one step at a time."
"I told you..."
“You need to plan things out.” Yu Wei picked up where Yu Zhen left off, and said dejectedly, “I didn’t have time to plan.”
Yu Wei pushed open the door, and as soon as he stepped out of the threshold, the strong light shone on his face. Yu Wei squinted to adjust his eyes, not turning around.
"Xiao Wei, not everything can go according to plan..."
As soon as they finished speaking, fully armed men in black surrounded the two of them, and the door behind them slammed shut, cutting off their escape route.
"Uncle Yu, we meet again."
The men in black made way for Lin Gu, who walked slowly with one hand in his pocket and a blade of grass in his mouth.
"You've lost a lot of weight since I last saw you."
Yu Zhen patted Yu Wei's shoulder, slid off his back, and the two stood back to back.
Are you confident?
"No, they're carrying guns." Yu Wei said, feigning fear, but his eyes showed no terror. "Dad, how about we surrender... Damn it! Where did you get this from..."
Faced with Yu Zhen in his red mecha suit, Yu Wei froze on the spot.
So... Yu Zhen was fully armed, and he was forced to engage in hand-to-hand combat with so many fierce-looking men wielding machine guns?
Where is morality? Where is humanity? Where is justice? Where is fairness? Where are the mechs?
"It's an old model from over ten years ago, and it's not under the headquarters' authority."
Yu Zhen patted Yu Wei's head, barely offering any comfort.
"Hold on tight, I'll take you... and fight our way out."
Yu Zhen put on the helmet, his eyes cold and murderous, like a demon from hell.
"These few weeds aren't enough for me to warm up."
Dense vines entwined around Yuwei, like a flowing golden river or a piece of precious and rare silk slowly moving.
The tender green leaves on the vines stand upright, their serrated edges tinged with scarlet, like the tips of knives that have just been licked of blood.
