"You're lying. That's not what you said. Why are you lying to me?"
Lan Sai couldn't accept everything Lan Que said. He couldn't accept that he was just a dispensable toy, a tool that could be discarded at any time.
"Then what did I say before?" Lan Que bent down slightly, closer to Lan Ting, his peach blossom eyes gleaming with sarcasm. "Did I say that I liked you, and that I was moved by everything you did?"
"you……"
"I haven't spelled it out simply because I still think you have some use." Lan Que leaned close to Lan Sai's ear, his gaze passing over him to look at Zhou Siyu opposite him: "Do you think you're the only one in this world who can travel back in time?"
"Who...who are you? How do you know..."
"Does it matter who I am?" Lan Que smiled slightly, the corners of her lips curving upwards. "Do you think that going back to the past will allow you to track my whereabouts and find me? Or are you simply unable to extricate yourself from the time you possessed me in the past?"
A smile appeared in Lan Que's eyes, like a child who had succeeded in his scheme, as he said something chilling: "You disgust me."
"You're not dead!" Lan Sai excitedly stood up and reached out to grab Lan Que, but Lan Que dodged to the side.
"I am already dead." Lan Que looked away, raised his hand to his nose, and gazed out the window, speaking slowly, "Lan Que is dead. You saw it with your own eyes, didn't you?"
Lan Que died in that fire, standing in the sea of pink mist amidst the raging flames, holding a rose, and turned to ashes along with his love.
No! You're not dead!
Lan Sai wanted to step forward, but saw Lan Que covering his mouth and nose and stepping back slightly, his eyes full of disgust.
"Is this issue important?" Lan Que sat on the bay window covered with a thick carpet, one leg bent, her toes lightly tapping the carpeted floor. "But you can rest assured, our score isn't settled yet, I'll come find you."
"Where are you? I'm coming to find you." Lancer knelt on the ground, taking a few steps forward on his knees. "I'm coming to find you, I apologize to you, please come back to me..."
"Why should I come back to you?" Lan Que leaned back, like a lazy cat, slowly swaying its tail, sly yet languid. "I've started a family with the person I love, and we're happy and content. Why would I need you?"
"I love you so much, why can't you even look at me, like me even a little bit, or just a tiny bit?"
"If your love is about drugging, defiling, imprisoning, and abusing, then I'm sorry, I really won't develop feelings for you." Lan Que shrugged. "Wake up, there aren't that many Stockholm syndrome patients in this world. You're just using love as a pretext to unleash your twisted inner self."
When facing someone they truly like, people tend to hide their violent side and try to be gentle, elegant, and proper. They are also careful and respectful towards their lovers, rather than resorting to brutal possession and abuse.
"What's the point of me telling you all this?" Lan Que said with a troubled tone, but his eyes were full of mockery. "After all, only humans need etiquette, while cattle and horses only need to bury their heads in their work."
"You...how could you have become like this?"
Lan Sai couldn't believe it. He had entered this time and space countless times, wanting to change the ending. He was willing to give up everything and elope with Lan Que if Lan Que agreed.
"Thanks to you."
Lan Que was disgusted by his exaggerated performance. He was the mastermind behind everything, so what right did he have to question him?
"Your Highness, Your Highness, tell me, where are you?"
"Where I am is none of your concern." Lan Que turned his head to the side, the sunlight casting a ring of light and shadow on his flaxen hair, making him look very gentle, but his words were still cold: "After all, I will come to find you, Asaimu. Our score is not over yet."
"You're not Zhou Siyu. Who are you? Where are you?"
Lan Sai held his head in his hands. He had always thought that the soul inside Zhou Siyu was Lan Que, which was why he took such good care of him and had people help him. He never expected that he was completely wrong.
But if it's not Zhou Siyu, why does he always show up?
“You have the ability to enter past timelines, but you can’t leave at will; you can only wait for timelines to overlap,” Lan Que kindly explained. “But do you think that the timeline that continues to develop in the past is still your original timeline?”
Time is irreversible. Going back in time only takes you to the past in another time and space. The flow of time in the two time and space is different, but the development of events is exactly the same.
If they were originally in timeline A, then they are now in parallel timeline B, which is a parallel timeline of timeline A. The time flow rate in B is higher than in A, so Lan Sai can see the future of timeline A through timeline B. What he sees as Zhou Siyu is just a future event in timeline B.
As for why he mistook Zhou Siyu from timeline A for Lan Que, only he himself knows.
“You try to change the outcome, but each time you let things develop unchecked.” Lan Que sighed, closed his eyes, and said in a weary voice, “But the facts are the facts, and the facts cannot be changed.”
No matter how hard you try, the result will only develop in one direction.
"Your Highness, who exactly are you?"
"It's too noisy. Get out before I lose my temper."
Lan Que pinched the bridge of his nose and kicked away the person who was sticking to him like a leech.
She walked to the wardrobe, took out her clothes, and took off her pajamas as if no one was around, then put them on one by one.
Her perfectly proportioned figure and long, straight, white legs made Zhou Siyu's eyes widen. Coupled with her stunningly beautiful face and shimmering peach blossom eyes, she was simply a deadly weapon.
Lan Que quickly dressed and said in the direction of Zhou Siyu, "Come with me."
