Chapter 181 I'll Back You Up

The moment the lights in the emergency room went out, Yu Zhen became lost and confused. Without Yu Wei, he had no value; he would be sent back to that place...

"Yu Zhen, Yu Zhen..." Lin Gu squeezed through the crowded corridor and found Yu Zhen huddled in a corner of the stairs.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Yu Zhen kept apologizing. At the time, Lin Gu didn't know why he was apologizing. He just thought that he was still blaming himself for Yu Wei's accident.

Years later, when everything had settled down, Lin Gu learned a secret from him that no one else knew.

Yu Zhen is not Yu Zhen at all; he is an imposter.

Over the years, Grandpa Yu had been secretly searching for a child whose blood type was compatible with Yu Wei's. He searched the entire alliance and finally found a child named Yu Zhen in a distant branch of the Yu family. Yu Zhen was the same age as Yu Wei, had a very high blood type compatibility, and had the lowest organ transplant rejection rate.

The couple was lazy and gluttonous, indulging in alcoholism, gambling, and loan sharking. Grandpa Yu did not offer them a large sum of money, but instead had them dealt with and the child taken away.

What he didn't know was that the real Yu Zhen had already been beaten to death by a drunk man before his men arrived. The couple had originally planned to use the child to extort a large sum of money from the Yu family, but they didn't expect such an accident to happen. On a whim, they brought the little beggar who made a living by begging to their home.

The children all looked pretty much the same, and since the people sent by the Yu family hadn't seen the photos, they took the children away after dealing with the couple.

"If the one brought back back then was the real Yu Zhen..."

“Even if we bring back the real Yu Zhen, Yu Wei will not accept the arrangement of living by taking someone else’s life.” Lin Gu interrupted him and gently patted his shoulder. “Rather than living in pain, he would rather accept death with equanimity.”

"Perhaps." Yu Zhen sighed. Even after all these years, he still couldn't help but think that if it had been the real Yu Zhen in the Yu family back then, Yu Wei would have recovered much sooner.

“Yu Zhen won’t do any better than you.” Lin Gu pinched Yu Zhen’s cheek and laughed, “To Yu Wei and me, no matter if you are Yu Zhen or anything else, you are Yu Zhen, the one and only one.”

"You're so sweet-talking."

Yu Zhen pinched Lin Gu's face and continued to reminisce.

My true feelings of being moved probably began when I was fifteen.

Fourteen or fifteen years old is a time when hormones are surging. The countless fantasies of skipping school and fighting in his mind can only remain fantasies. He tries his best to play the role of a good student and obedient child in front of his teachers and family, suppressing his restless heart. The rooftop of the school building becomes his secret base.

Many of my classmates have started to diverge. The suppressed groans in the bathroom, the heavy breathing in the dormitory, the whispers in the corner of the equipment room... all of these demonstrate the vigorous and restless energy of young men and women.

Yu Zhen is not differentiated and cannot smell pheromones, but he has excellent hearing and eyesight.

One day during lunch break, his roommate brought an Omega back to the dorm as usual, and he went to the secret base as usual. When he opened the door, he bumped into another couple.

Perhaps because the two had invaded his secret base, or perhaps because he had nowhere to vent his energy, Yu Zhen was furious. He grabbed the shoulder of the Alpha who was taller than him, strangled him, and threw him to the ground.

Hitting someone might feel good in the moment, but calling their parents would be a nightmare. Naturally, Yu Zhen didn't dare to call Yu Mao and his wife, nor did he dare to tell Yu Wei that he had been fighting at school. After thinking it over, he reluctantly contacted Lin Gu.

Although Lin Gu was the same age as him, his long-term training and rich nutrition made him look taller and stronger than his peers. In addition, he wore a suit that he had somehow gotten his hands on and put on a show of politeness, which successfully fooled the sharp-eyed headmaster.

"Come on, call me 'brother' and let me hear it."

As they walked out of the office, Lin Gu smiled and put his arm around Yu Zhen's shoulder.

"Get lost!" Yu Zhen slapped his hand away, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and walked forward with one hand in her pocket.

"Hey, when you contacted me just now you called me 'brother' so affectionately, are you just using me and then throwing me away!"

Lin Gu stomped his feet in anger. He had finally gotten a vacation and hadn't even had a chance to enjoy it when he had to come all this way to deal with Yu Zhen's fight, only to receive no kind words in return.

Yu Zhen thought the matter was over, but a few days later, the Alpha and a group of people cornered him in an alley.

"Yu Zhen, right?"

The tall, burly man with a full beard poked Yu Zhen's name on his chest with an iron rod, his narrowed eyes filled with disdain. "I heard you've got your eye on my brother's stuff?"

"Huh?" Yu Zhen was a little confused. Adhering to the principle of a good student who asks questions when he doesn't understand, he asked sincerely, "Your brother? Who is he?"

"Hey, you're pretty arrogant, aren't you?" The bearded man patted Yu Zhen's face with an iron rod, laughing arrogantly. "This little face of yours, so white and tender, like a block of tofu. Come here and let your brother have a taste..."

"Try your mother!"

Yu Zhen clenched her fist and punched the man with great force, but the man caught it easily.

The slender arms and strong hands formed a stark contrast. A sharp pain shot through his wrist, as if it would break at any moment. Yu Zhen frowned tightly, but the man excessively caressed the back of his hand and even lowered his face to kiss it.

"Fuck your mother!"

Before Yu Zhen could even react, he was kicked in the stomach, and he flew up like a kite.

In the face of absolute power, all skills are just empty gestures, especially since he had no skills at all.

He guessed he might have kicked his stomach, bent over and curled up on the ground, feeling nauseous. The man, however, went further, spewing out a torrent of foul language.
