Lin Gu first met Yu Zhen during the summer vacation when he was seven years old. He heard that Grandpa Yu had brought a few children from a collateral branch to accompany Yu Wei. Although they were from a collateral branch, the relationship was actually quite distant.
From the parents' casual conversations, Xiao Lin heard a lot of gossip. Some people said that the children were Yu Wei's future wives, while others said that the children were raised for experiments to prolong Yu Wei's life when needed.
Lin Gu was terrified. After hearing that his parents were going to visit the Yu family and that he would be staying there for a week, he clung to the pillar and refused to comply. He did not want to become an experiment.
"I heard that Weiwei was in the emergency room again recently." Lin's mother sighed, her pretty face full of worry: "I don't know how much longer that child can hold on."
"Don't worry too much. That child has been in the emergency room more times since birth than he has eaten meals, but he has survived all these years."
Lin's father gently put his arm around his wife's shoulder. Emotionally speaking, Yu Wei was his nephew, and he liked the child from the bottom of his heart. From another perspective, Yu Wei was the only one among the new generation whose differentiation was predicted to be at the S level, making him an important link in the power struggle among the major families.
Although the child didn't understand what death was, he didn't want to lose Yuwei as a friend. Even though he took away a lot of attention from him, he was incredibly good to his friend.
Therefore, despite being terrified, he still went to the Yu family with his parents.
The two families' adults were talking in the living room. He wasn't interested in their conversation, so he took some candy and snacks and went to find Yu Wei. He had so much to say to Yu Wei; that guy must be bored to death lying in bed all day.
Yu Wei's room was large and clean. There was a bulge on the bed, and Lin Gu subconsciously assumed it was Yu Wei. As usual, he jumped onto the bed, pulled back the covers, and shouted, "The invincible war god has descended..."
A strange face appeared under the blanket. Lin Gu froze, and the person he was pressing down on also froze, then suddenly raised his knee...
Three seconds later, Lin Gu, completely disoriented, fell straight off the bed and rolled on the floor, but because of shame and anger, he gritted his teeth and dared not make a sound.
The man jumped off the bed, crossed his arms, and stared at him coldly, looking as if he wanted to kill him.
"Gugu? What brings you here?" The childish voice was weak, but it couldn't hide the excitement. Lin Gu looked up and met those bright, sparkling eyes, brighter than the stars in the sky.
Yu Wei stood by the door. For convenience, his room had a study and a bathroom. When he heard something fall to the ground, he thought it was Yu Zhen who had fallen off the bed.
Before Lin Gu could speak, the person who had been cold-faced moments before put on a pitiful and aggrieved expression. She gently tugged at Yu Wei's sleeve, shrugged slightly as she looked down, and then, at just the right moment, raised her tear-filled eyes, her voice soft and gentle: "Brother~ I'm scared..."
"Damn it..." Lin Gu was furious at this attempt to shift the blame, and the pain in his body disappeared. He immediately stood up and argued, "I didn't do anything, and you kicked me. And you still think you're right!"
"I didn't, brother, he did it first..."
Yu Zhen choked back tears as he recounted what had happened. Lin Gu was once again impressed by his shamelessness. Just as he was about to speak, the others who had heard the commotion came upstairs.
After recounting what had happened, Yu Zhen apologized first, standing obediently behind Yu Wei as if he had suffered a great injustice. This contrasted sharply with the stubborn Lin Gu. In the end, it was Lin Ling who smoothed things over.
Children's tempers come and go quickly. After lunch, the three of them played together, and with Qin Ge's belated intervention, Lin Gu and Yu Zhen quickly forgot about the unpleasantness of the morning.
After spending a day together, Lin Gu had gotten to know Yu Zhen better. He was a total brother-obsessed guy. He was as docile as a cat in front of Qin Ge and Yu Wei, but he would show his claws without hesitation in front of Lin Gu, and Lin Gu had to scratch him a few times to feel better. What was most infuriating was that this guy could always portray himself as the perfect victim and push all the responsibility onto Lin Gu, which made Lin Gu grit his teeth but he was helpless.
After suffering several losses in a row, Lin Gu would avoid Yu Zhen whenever he saw him. If he couldn't beat him, couldn't he at least run away? Things change every thirty years, and he didn't believe that Yu Zhen could remain without any weaknesses forever.
Before the holiday was about to end, Yu Wei underwent another surgery. It was the first time he had seen Yu Zhen's face filled with fear and helplessness. He didn't even take Lin Gu's ridicule and mockery to heart.
For the first time, Lin Gu, an only child, had the idea of wanting a younger brother. He wanted a younger brother who would care about him all the time, but one who would be much more obedient than Yu Zhen.
Their first meeting was unpleasant, and their subsequent interactions were naturally strained, with them arguing or mocking each other whenever they met. Lin Gu ridiculed Yu Zhen as a spoiled brat who only relied on his older brother, while Yu Zhen laughed at him for being a simp and getting dumped.
Lin Gu was powerless to refute, because the person he had been fawning over for three months was won over by Yu Zhen with just a few words.
Later, Lin Gu joined the army, and Yu Zhen went to university. Their meetings decreased, but their bickering remained, and they secretly competed with each other. After Lin Gu differentiated, he had a constant stream of followers, was a regular at various bars, and had a different boyfriend or girlfriend every day. Yu Zhen, with his baby face, pretended to be well-behaved in front of his parents and Yu Wei, but secretly smoked, drank, got tattoos, and fought—he did everything. He especially loved to go against Lin Gu, and even without differentiating, he was still quite attractive to omegas.
Knowing everything, Qin Ge gave him a terrible idea: since they couldn't kill the enemy, they should turn the enemy into their own. Imagine how interesting it would be if someone who always opposed you was pinned down and begged for mercy while crying.
Regarding this idea, renowned critic Lin Gu gave it high praise: "You're a real pervert."
However, Lin Gu, in a moment of impulsiveness, adopted the suggestion and, taking advantage of the person's vulnerability during the first susceptible period after Yu Zhen's differentiation, devoured him.
