After speaking with Yu Wei, Zhou Siyu felt much better, and those around him could clearly sense the change in his mood.
"This change is too big."
Wu Ming, leaning against the corridor, nudged Qin Ge with his elbow and gestured with his chin toward the smiling person in the information room.
He hadn't forgotten how Zhou Siyu's face had turned as black as the bottom of a pot a few days ago; anyone who didn't know better would have thought someone owed him hundreds of thousands.
"You don't understand." Qin Ge glanced at it, then quickly looked away, and said with emotion, "This is love."
"By the way, how's your boyfriend?" Wu Ming turned around with a grin. "You two have been dating for over six years, right?"
"That's it, what else can we do?"
Frustrated, Qin Ge pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and put it in his mouth. He then took out a lighter and held it to his lips with one hand.
"You need to work harder." Wu Ming snatched the cigarette from Qin Ge's hand, took one out, and casually took the lighter from Qin Ge's hand. "Even a blockhead like General Yu is going to be a father, and look at you..."
Wu Ming glanced at Qin Ge with disdain and blew smoke into his face.
"How dare you say that to me?" Qin Ge fanned the smoke with his hand. "You've never even been in a relationship..."
"Hey, you're wrong about that." Wu Ming took a deep drag of his cigarette, slowly exhaled a smoke ring, and his eyes dimmed for a moment, but he quickly masked it: "Who hasn't been in love?"
"Oh, you? Dating?" Qin Ge glanced at Wu Ming and joked, "I don't believe it at all."
Believe it or not.
Wu Ming turned around, placed his hands on the railing, bent slightly, and stared blankly at the sun gradually setting in the distance.
"Hey, tell me about it." Qin Ge nudged Wu Ming's elbow. "Tell me so I can laugh, or rather, comfort you."
"Actually, the matter is..." Wu Ming glanced at Qin Ge, then turned away and sighed, "Never mind, let's not talk about it anymore."
After saying that, he stared blankly into the distance, a cigarette dangling from his lips.
Qin Ge lowered his eyes, a cigarette dangling from his lips, and fiddled with the lighter in his hand. His sculpted features appeared and disappeared with the flickering flame.
In the blink of an eye, he and Yu Wen have been together for six years.
Six years is a long time, so long that he forgot how the two of them got together in the first place.
He didn't know when it happened, but he started to get tired of it all – tired of the relationship, tired of the person, tired of Yu Wen being busy with work all day, tired of the days when they rarely saw each other.
Perhaps it's time for them to end this.
Qin Ge was thinking this, and didn't even notice when Zhou Siyu stood in front of him.
"Are you two just standing guard here?"
Zhou Siyu covered her mouth and nose in disgust, fanning the smoke with her other hand.
"It's my duty. The Chairman's orders are for me to keep an eye on you." Qin Ge pursed his lips, stubbed out his cigarette, and fanned the smoke with his hand. "It really is pungent."
The headquarters military region hospital is under the jurisdiction of the military, which means that Yu Wei is now his superior.
"I'm perfectly fine, what could possibly be wrong with me?"
Zhou Siyu reached out his hand, and Qin Ge took out white pills from his pocket and handed them to him along with a small thermos.
"It's good that the communication has been restored. You don't need to be so conscientious. You still need to rest when you need to." Wu Ming stubbed out his cigarette, let the smoke dissipate a short distance away, and slowly walked over to the two of them. He said half-jokingly and half-seriously, "If the Chairman knew that you were working late into the night, he would scold me again."
"The preliminary statistics of the stolen data have been sent to your email." After taking the medicine, Zhou Siyu felt much better. She handed the cup back to Qin Ge and said with a smile, "Thanks."
"You're welcome, after all, he's my godson."
Qin Ge took the cup and casually rubbed Zhou Siyu's head. A sharp pain shot through his knee, almost causing him to kneel down. Qin Ge clutched his leg and groaned, "Zhou Siyu, I'm still your son's godfather! You're trying to kill me!"
"Who gave you permission to touch my head?"
"Aww~ You can even touch Yu Wei!"
Qin Ge rubbed his leg, glaring indignantly at Zhou Siyu.
“He can, but you can’t.” Zhou Siyu glanced at Qin Ge, crossed her arms, and snorted. “No one but him can.”
"Ta-da..."
Hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor. A soldier ran quickly to Wu Ming, stood up straight with his feet together, and saluted.
"Reporting, sir, the Chairman has returned."
As soon as he finished speaking, a white figure flashed by, bringing a gust of wind that rushed into his collar. The soldier subconsciously shrugged.
The wind is so strong.
"Hey, you've come to the wrong place! It's this way!"
Wu Ming shouted loudly at the white-clad figure. Zhou Siyu paused, turned around, quickly walked to Wu Ming's side, grabbed his arm, and said in an unquestionable tone, "Lead the way."
"There's no need to rush into reincarnation..."
Seeing the murderous look in Zhou Siyu's eyes, Wu Ming wisely shut his mouth, shrugged, and led the way.
Silver spaceships and warships were neatly parked in the square. On one side were orderly lines of people checking heads, on the other side were medical personnel in white coats going in and out of the spaceships, and on the other side were ordinary people and orcs dressed in various styles.
The heavy smell of blood stained the air. Zhou Siyu covered her mouth and nose, suppressing the churning in her stomach, and stretched her neck to search for Yu Wei's figure.
There's no place to assemble the team.
There wasn't one on the spaceship.
There are no wounded soldiers...
"Boom..."
Another spaceship slowly appeared. Unlike the other spaceships, this spaceship had many bullet holes and laser cannon marks all over its body, and most of its silver coating had turned black.
"Clang..."
The rickety door was kicked open from the inside, landing on the ground and kicking up a huge cloud of dust.
A soldier with a sling jumped off the spaceship, directed the elevator to be lowered, and two people in white coats quickly ran out carrying a stretcher.
