Yu Wei was woken up early in the morning and, half asleep, heard about a mission: to escort some war criminals back ahead of schedule.
"Escorting war criminals? Me?" Yu Wei pointed at himself in disbelief. "You trust me far too much."
“It’s not that I believe in you, it’s that the Allied Army Headquarters believes in you.” Lin Gu patted his shoulder. “These war criminals are of paramount importance. Your uncle is also worried about problems arising. You know, he doesn’t have many people he can trust right now.”
"Besides, what kind of business is it for a general like you to spend all your time fawning over Zhou Siyu?"
"That's not right," Yu Wei said, splashing cold water on his face. "I'm trying to increase the alliance's birth rate, aren't I? How can that not be a contribution?"
"Stop joking." Lin Gu handed him a dry towel. "This mission is of great importance. Headquarters' instructions are that no unauthorized personnel are allowed to participate."
"What? You mean my wife can't come with me?" Yu Wei wiped his face and turned to look at Lin Gu: "It can't be that bad, can it?"
“How could it not be?” Lin Gu imitated Yu Wei, splashing cold water on his face and grabbing the towel from Yu Wei’s hand to wipe the water off. “This riot is related to the rebels. We need to find the rebel headquarters through these war criminals…”
"That probably won't work." Yu Wei mumbled, biting his toothbrush. "Those who get thrown out are definitely the lowest-ranking people in the organization. How could they possibly have access to something so high-level?"
“You’re right, but we have no other choice but to try anything.” Lin Gu looked at Yu Wei and said with a serious face, “We have to try our best to find any clues.”
"Okay, I got it." Yu Wei spat out the water, stretched while holding the cup, and said, "Don't worry, it's a small task, nothing will go wrong."
"It's a pity that the superhuman got away, otherwise you might have been able to continue contributing to increasing the Alliance's birth rate along the way."
Lin Gu patted Yu Wei on the back with a regretful expression, making a joke.
"What nonsense are you spouting!" Yu Wei pinched Lin Gu's thigh. "I'm a married man. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll sue you for defamation!"
"Alright, alright, you innocent young man, hurry up, everyone's waiting for you." Lin Gu pointed to the spaceship hovering in mid-air not far away, "If I'm not mistaken, your wife is still sleeping."
"Why didn't you say goodbye before you left?"
A cold voice rang out, and Yu Wei and Lin Gu turned their heads in unison, clutching their necks and wailing.
You spun it too fast and pulled a muscle!
“I saw you were still sleeping…” Yu Wei decisively let go of Lin Gu, ran to Zhou Siyu, and pulled the coat off him: “I didn’t mean to not tell you.”
"What did you say before?"
Zhou Siyu glanced at Yu Wei, her phoenix eyes showing neither sorrow nor joy.
"No matter where I go, I must inform you in advance." Yu Wei pointed to his pocket and said in a low voice, feeling wronged, "I did inform you."
"Alright, I'll let you off this time." A smile appeared in Zhou Siyu's eyes, and she felt much better, but she still had to pretend to be unhappy. "If there's a next time..."
"Durian, keyboard, remote control, washboard—my wife can do whatever she wants with them."
Yu Wei chuckled, pulled Zhou Siyu into a tighter embrace, and gently patted his shoulder: "Don't be angry anymore, okay?"
"I'm not angry." Zhou Siyu rubbed her eyes, slipped out of Yu Wei's embrace, cupped her face, and kissed him.
"Huh..."
"hiss……"
"Wow..."
"Hey~"
A chorus of cheers erupted around them, and everyone watched the two people in the center of the crowd with amusement.
This is so exciting so early in the morning.
"Someone is watching."
Yu Wei blushed and lowered his head, while the surrounding jeers intensified.
Unexpectedly, the imposing General Yu is actually an innocent young man who blushes when flirted with by his own wife.
The way she blushed and lowered her head made her look just like a young married woman.
"Are you unhappy?" Zhou Siyu crossed her arms, looked at the shy Yu Wei, and couldn't help but stand on tiptoe and ruffle his hair.
Emma, you're so well-behaved, I want to pet you.
"hiss……"
"Wow!"
There was a collective gasp around them. How could someone dare to mess with General Yu?
"I'm happy." Yu Wei scratched the back of his head, shook Zhou Siyu's hand, and looked at Zhou Siyu with shyness and reluctance in his eyes: "I'll go a few days early and come back to see you soon."
"Go ahead, go ahead." Zhou Siyu waved her hand and said generously, "It's fine if you don't come back to find me."
"No!" Yu Wei hugged Zhou Siyu tightly, almost crying, "You can't abandon me..."
Everyone was stunned. Good heavens! Was the iron-willed General Yu about to cry? This was a once-in-a-century event!
Take pictures, take pictures, record the beauty of life.
"I'm coming to find you," Zhou Siyu said helplessly, kissing Yu Wei's cheek. "I didn't say I didn't want you."
"That's good."
Yu Wei's sorrow turned to joy, and he held onto Zhou Siyu tightly, unwilling to let go.
Everyone looked at General Yu, who had been pitiful one second and was now all smiles the next, grinning like a worthless rotten persimmon, and wished they could gouge their own eyes out.
Don't go out and say that this lovesick, infatuated General Yu is their savior, it's embarrassing!
"Alright, you've shaken my hand so hard it's about to break." Zhou Siyu patted Yu Wei. "Go on, they're still waiting for you."
"No, let me hug you a little longer."
Yu Wei hugged Zhou Siyu, buried her head in his neck, and inhaled his fragrance.
"Huh~"
Seeing the two of them being all lovey-dovey, Lin Gu and the others rolled their eyes and turned their faces away in disgust.
There are two things in the world that I cannot tolerate: one is showing off my love, and the other is publicly displaying affection!
