Yu Wei and Ning An stared at each other for a long time before Yu Wei finally couldn't sit still any longer.
"Captain Ning, you're fine, but I have things to do. I don't have time to play this 'staring contest' game with you."
"Zhang Jin is dead."
"Holy crap! Really? When did he die? Who did it?" Yu Wei asked a barrage of questions, his eyes brimming with gossip.
"If I knew who did it, would you still be here?"
Ning An rolled her eyes. Damn, so much nonsense.
"Damn it! So you've been interrogating me here as a suspect!" Yu Wei slammed his fist on the table. "Captain Ning, can we be a little more objective? You can't just arrest anyone you have a grudge against and torture them into confessing! That's illegal!"
"Did I hit you?"
"No." Yu Wei suddenly realized, "So my wife is here with you too?"
"exist."
"You're not going to hit him, are you? He's injured and can't be hit."
"I didn't fight, so stop talking nonsense."
Yu Wei completely ignored him and continued, "Be gentle when you question him. He's timid; if you scare him, I'll report you for using torture..."

Ning An pinched the bridge of her nose, patted the police officer next to her, and got up to leave.

"Be serious! You can't just say things like that."
“I’m stating the facts.” Zhou Siyu propped her head up with one hand and leaned against the armrest. “If you don’t believe me, we can do a biological comparison, but I don’t know if Yu Zhen will let you take samples for testing.”
Ning An rolled his eyes. At his level, who was Commander-in-Chief Yu? He was on the same level as Director Lin of the Interstellar Police Bureau. At his level, he would never see him in his lifetime.
Just as she was about to ask something else, a police officer knocked on the door, signaling Ning An to come out for a moment.
Ning An frowned. As soon as she stepped out the door, a gray-haired man grabbed her ear and dragged her into the office.
"Master, Master, Master, be gentle! My ear's going to fall off!"
Ning An rubbed her ears, feeling utterly humiliated.
Looking up, Ning An noticed a man in military uniform sitting at her desk. She looked at the man with a puzzled expression.
"Captain Ning? I've heard so much about you." Lin Gu stood up and extended his hand. "My name is Lin Gu."
While shaking hands, Ning An looked at the man with her eyes, seeking an answer.
"General Lin has something to tell you."
"General Lin? Hello, my name is Ning An."
Ning An had heard of Lin Gu, the commander of the military command of the 18th planet and the ruler of the 18th planet, who had recently been promoted to general.
"Captain Ning, there's no need to be so formal. Just call me Lin Gu." Lin Gu withdrew his hand. "I've long heard of Captain Ning's reputation as a brilliant detective. It's great to finally meet you today."
"General Lin is joking; it's all just empty fame."
"Captain Ning is a straightforward person, so I'll just say it directly: Is Yu Wei here?"
"Which Yu Wei?" Ning An smiled. "There are many people in this world with the same name..."
"The one in the interrogation room, the tall one."
"Oh, he's here."
“I have to take him with me,” Lin Gu thought for a moment, “and Zhou Siyu too.”
"General Lin, we have our rules. You can't just take whoever you want away."
"Bail, I'll handle the formalities."
“Zhou Siyu can leave, but Yu Wei cannot.” Ning An said matter-of-factly, “He doesn’t have identification, so he can’t leave until that is confirmed.”
“Who said he doesn’t have identification?” Lin Gu took out a file folder and opened it in front of both of them. “This is his identification, this is the paternity test, and this is a statement of the situation. However, these are all internal documents and cannot be given to you.”
Ning An and his master exchanged a glance, picked up the documents and looked at them. With the official seal and signature, their authenticity was beyond question.
“This was all done unilaterally by you,” Ning An smiled. “We can’t believe it.”
"Captain Ning is being too pedantic." Lin Gu frowned. "Does eating pork mean you have to know who the pig's parents are?"
The military and the police are two completely independent systems, but they shouldn't be that inflexible.
"I almost forgot, Director Lin asked me to bring over a document." Lin Gu slapped the back of his head. Luckily, he had a backup plan and got a certificate from his father.
"Joint operations?"
Ning and An exchanged a glance, their expressions grave. The last joint military-police operation was to investigate a large-scale gland smuggling case, which caused quite a stir. The joint operation before that was to crack down on arms smuggling, which was no small matter either.
In short, joint military and police operations are never good; they always involve either life or violence.
"Due to the special nature of the operation, Yu Wei's information is kept secret, and we have announced that his whereabouts are unknown." Lin Gu lied through his teeth. "We hope you will continue to keep it a secret. We will release relevant information after the operation is completed."
"but……"
“Okay.” The man stopped Lin Gu from speaking. “We’ll cooperate. Ning An, release them.”
