Chapter Twenty-Eight

Chapter Twenty-Eight

The next morning, Cen Rou met with a person and a cat. Cen Rou was a little stunned. A little girl? The girl recommended by Cen Mo to join the army was about ten years old. Cen Rou didn't care whether Xiao Liunian was a boy or a girl. It was mainly her age. Her mother also had a female corps, but they were all at least fifteen or sixteen years old when they joined the army. She had never seen a ten-year-old girl join the army.

"Hello, I am Cen Rou. May I ask how you should address me, young lady?" Cen Rou clasped her hands in a respectful greeting.

"Greetings, Miss Cen. My name is Liu Nian!" Xiao Liunian returned the greeting with clasped hands. Xiao Liunian really wanted to investigate whether this custom of returning each other's greetings was good or bad, convenient or inconvenient.

"Can I call you Niannian?" Cen Rou asked.

“Okay!” Xiao Liunian said.

“This kitten is so cute, what should we call it?” Cen Rou bent down to look at Thirteen on Xiao Liunian’s shoulder.

"Three Systems!" The Thirteen Systems, or Three Systems for short, what a great name!

"Are the three factions going to race horses together too?"

"Meow!" Thirteen shook his head and then nodded.

Cen Rou took the time-limited 'Liu Nian' and 'San Tong' to the horse farm to select horses.

"Thank you, Miss Cen. I'll take this one. San Tong and I will be leaving now!" Xiao Liunian lightly leaped and mounted the horse.

"Giddy up!" The horse carried Xiao Liunian away in an instant. The sky was blue with a few white clouds dotting the horizon. The grassland stretched as far as the eye could see. As they rode towards the sunlight, Xiao Liunian felt a different kind of exhilaration!

As for our cat, it had already hidden inside Xiao Liunian's package of snacks, with only its little head sticking out. Although the feeling of speeding along was exhilarating, the wind was strong, and the cat might be blown away!

Xiao Liunian rode with Thirteen on horseback for a long time until they saw a small river coming from afar, cutting through the grassland. They then slowly slowed down, dismounted at the riverbank, and let the horses drink water and graze to replenish their energy.

Xiao Liunian went to the riverbank, scooped up a handful of water to wash his face, and at the same time stroked Thirteen's fluffy head. "Washing the cat's face, good!"

After cleaning their faces, the two of them, a person and a cat, went to a tree by the river, opened their package, took out some slightly broken snacks and a slightly deformed flatbread, and began a picnic.

"Mumu, this feels so good!" The weather is really nice today. The wind on the grassland has become gentle, lightly caressing this land.

"The grasslands without strong winds are the most comfortable days!" The sunlight falls fairly, absorbed by the trees, leaving only a blurry shadow. But there are times when the trees are powerless, so they can only let the light pass through the gaps and fall on the ground, mingling with the shadows. However, today two outsiders have arrived, also stealing the earth's light.

Let Xiao Liunian improvise a poem that resembles a poem.

Blue sky with white clouds, sunlight filtering through the trees, we're sleeping soundly, life is truly wonderful!

Poem title: Stealing a day of leisure from a busy life.

"Great poem! Great poem!" The fluffy straight man chimes in.

A person and a cat lay under a tree, their bodies speckled with spots, slowly closing their eyes, preparing to drift off into a sweet dream.

"I still want to eat grilled meat skewers..." came from the system as my belly rippled slightly.

"Eat, eat as much as you want!" The host, still wealthy as ever.

A person and a cat, with the shadows of trees and sunlight as their blankets and innocent grass as their pillows, slept until their stomachs rumbled. Finally, they opened their four eyes, sat up, and made eye contact with a horse lying on the grass beside them for a second. The horse gave them a look that said, "Finally, I've decided to get up."

"Mumu, I'm hungry!" The cat shook its head vigorously.

"Have a little snack to tide you over before we get back for a big meal!" Xiao Liunian took out a small piece of snack from her package.

"No, I can still hold on. I'll go back to the city and have a big meal!" the cat said firmly, determined to endure it.

"Alright!" With that, Xiao Liunian picked up the cat, leaped onto his horse, and galloped towards Wuzhou City, heading towards the delicious food. The man, the cat, and the horse came into the sun and left in the same way!

After returning to the city, the two, having enjoyed a big meal, went back to sleep.

The next day, Yang Ying arranged for the housekeeper to wait outside the courtyard early in the morning.

"Miss, this way please!"

"Greetings, Your Highness, General!"

"Instructor Liu, no need for formalities!" Cen Jin had prepared himself mentally yesterday. Since the princess was going to be Instructor Liu Nian, she was now under his command. This courtesy was appropriate, wasn't it?

"Set off!"

Cen Jin was in the center, Yang Ying was on the left, and Liu Jiaotou, who was about to take office, was on the right. Behind them were several personal guards from the Zhenbei Prince's Mansion. The group headed towards the camp outside Wuzhou City.

Within the Wuzhou army, the high-ranking generals had already learned that the Grand General had selected a group of soldiers to be trained by a new instructor. Therefore, everyone was very curious about who this newly appointed instructor was and why the Grand General valued him so much.

Curiosity is something that 99% of people have, so many generals of the Wuzhou Army gathered at the camp gate early in the morning after arranging their personal tasks to welcome the general!

After waiting all morning, just before lunchtime, dust was forced up in the distance, announcing the arrival of the main characters they were waiting for. Rolling yellow sand approached from afar as General Cen Jin and General Yang Ying entered the camp.

"Greetings, General!"

"Greetings, General Yang!"

Everyone was curious. Wasn't it said that the general would bring a new instructor to take up his post? Where was the new instructor?

"Gentlemen, no need for formalities!" Cen Jin thought to himself, it seems that the new instructor's training will not begin until tomorrow.

"This is Miss Liu Nian, a woman of exceptional talent, who is the instructor of the newly established special operations battalion!" Cen Jin introduced.

"General, are you kidding me? A little kid as an instructor? And a little girl at that!" Sure enough, someone spoke up quickly.

"Instructor Liu?" Cen Jin turned his head to ask, wanting to see how the princess planned to handle the current situation.

"Reporting to the General, I am young, and it is reasonable for you generals to have concerns. Why not set up a arena and invite all the soldiers to watch? I will be the champion, and you can come and fight. The number of people is not important. What do you think, General?" Xiao Liunian said.

"Wujiang!"

"Your subordinate is here!" a soldier replied.

"Set up a challenge!"

"yes!"

"Mumu, hurry up and hit it, the cat is getting hungry..." Xiao Liunian's cat on his shoulder said. After riding the horse for so long, the cat was hungry again.

"Okay, soon!"

Wu Jiang accepted the order to prepare the arena. The generals dispersed and returned to their posts. Xiao Liunian, Cen Jin, and Yang Ying returned to the general's tent.

"Instructor Liu, please forgive me!" Cen Jin said.

"It's alright, it's normal to have doubts. If everyone thinks it's normal for a ten-year-old to be a coach, then it's not normal!" Xiao Liunian felt that this was easy to resolve, and that they could let their abilities speak for themselves.

The group didn't wait long before they received a report from Wu Jiang's men that the arena was ready.

Xiao Liunian followed Cen Jin and Yang Ying to the martial arts arena, where the arena was already set up. A large drum stood upright on the left side of the arena, and on the right side, weapons such as swords, spears, and halberds were lined up and waiting. When Wu Jiang saw the general arrive, he ordered his men to beat the drum, and the sound was deafening.

"Greetings, General!" the crowd bowed.

"Reporting to the general, the arena is ready. Please give your instructions!" Wu Jiang stepped forward.

“Alright! Let’s begin!” Cen Jin said.

"General, please!" Wu Jiang invited Cen Jin to the observation platform.

“No need, this place is fine!” Cen Jin refused.

Wu Jiang had tables and chairs brought over, and Cen Jin sat down, gesturing for the other generals to sit as well.

Xiao Liunian calmly placed the cat on a chair and rubbed its head.

Meow! May the cat god bless you!

Xiao Liunian then walked to the center of the arena and transmitted his voice with his internal force: "I am Liu Nian, the newly appointed instructor of the special operations battalion. I am new to the Wuzhou military camp and would like to exchange skills with all of you heroes. Please give me your guidance!"

"Instructor Liu! I am Song Gang! I would like to have a friendly spar with Instructor Liu!" Song Gang arrived carrying two large round hammers.

"Please!" Xiao Liunian clasped his hands in a salute.

"Instructor Liu, aren't you going to choose a weapon?" Although it was supposed to be a friendly spar, it felt like I was bullying a little kid.

"No need, we can choose in the next round, General Song, please!"

Seeing this, Song Gang swung his two iron hammers and began to attack. Some of the spectators below the stage were worried for the new instructor, while others admired and respected Song Gang's skill in wielding the two large iron hammers...

However, Xiao Liunian on the stage didn't give everyone much time to think. As Song Gang attacked with his iron hammer, Xiao Liunian grabbed the iron chain connecting the two hammers with his left hand and pulled hard, sending the hammers into his hands. Immediately afterward, Xiao Liunian threw a punch with his right hand. Song Gang reacted quickly, crossing his arms and crouching down to receive the punch. However, this punch was not something that could be easily received. In the blink of an eye, Song Gang was knocked off the stage by the punch.

"You flatter me!" Xiao Liunian clasped his hands in a fist salute on the arena, having won his first battle.

“Good!” Cen Jin said. Song Gang’s personal strength in the Wuzhou army was of average level, but Xiao Liunian knocked him off the stage with just one move. Cen Jin’s original doubts about this princess lessened a bit.

"good!"

The rest of the crowd joined in the applause.

"Is there anyone else who wants to have a match?" Xiao Liunian asked on the arena.

More than thirty people stepped forward. Among them were those who originally planned to participate in the contest, and others who decided to join after watching Xiao Liunian and Song Gang's match.

Thirteen, sitting upright in his chair, swished his tail back and forth, thinking to himself, "There are still quite a few people who want to deliver vegetables!"

“Gentlemen, it’s almost lunchtime. Why don’t we all join forces?” Xiao Liunian sincerely suggested.
