Chapter 248 Self-Proof
Ji Hongde almost vomited a mouthful of blood.
Although he had never held a high position in the government before, he had served as the Minister of Revenue. He never thought that when he was old, he would be bullied by a local ruffian!
"Desheng!" He called to the butler, "Report this to the East City Military Headquarters immediately. Someone is pretending to be a relative and causing trouble!"
The butler immediately took the order and left.
Lu Wude's eyes widened. "Dad! This child is your biological son! Look at his eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. He's obviously yours. How could you deny him?"
After saying that, he looked at He and said, "Mother, I still remember clearly the deep love you and father have shown me. How could you bear to let me wander around like this?"
He was shaking with anger.
"Shut up!" she yelled. "Get as far away from me as you can!"
Lu Wude covered his face and sobbed.
"I just want to be recognized as my ancestral home and take care of you until the end of your life. Why don't you acknowledge me? Is I your illegitimate child, so I can't let him see the light of day?"
When the neighbors who were gathered at the gate of Ji's house to watch the excitement heard the word "illegitimate child", their eyes suddenly brightened.
Ji Hongde raised his hand and was about to slap Lu Wude in the face.
Lu Wude dodged and hid behind He.
"Mom, Dad wants to beat me, please stop him."
He hurried away: "Who is your mother? Stop yelling here!"
Unexpectedly, Lu Wude followed him like a shadow, and He was so angry that he shouted, "Catch him quickly!"
The servants were being pressed down by the men brought by Lu Wude, so the maids and old women had no choice but to step forward. However, Lu Wude was as slippery as a loach, and they couldn't catch him no matter how hard they chased him.
Ji Hongde felt dizzy as he watched the chaotic scene, which was like an eagle catching chicks.
Fortunately, the runners from the East City Bingmasi finally arrived and arrested Lu Wude and the gang of ruffians.
Ji Hongde breathed a sigh of relief.
"This traitor pretends to be a relative of an official and disrupts social order. According to the laws of Daxi, he should be punished for fraud. I beg you to put him in shackles for three months and send him to the frontier for hard labor as a warning to others!"
The yamen runner nodded and said ok.
After watching the yamen runners take the people away, Ji Hongde ignored the curious faces of the neighbors around him and returned home with a cold face.
I thought the matter was over.
Unexpectedly, only an hour later, Lu Wude's gang of ruffians were released from the yamen, and shouts of recognition of relatives were heard outside the gate again.
He's face turned ashen.
"How did the East City Military Command do things? Why did they let him out?"
She immediately ordered the housekeeper to go to the yamen to question him.
The housekeeper went to finish her reply: "The government said that we don't have enough evidence to prove that they are pretending to be relatives, so they can only release them."
He: “???”
Not enough evidence?
How outrageous!
"Shouldn't the villain be the one to prove it himself? How did it become us who have to prove it?"
The housekeeper said with a bitter face, "The government said we reported the case. Whoever claims it must provide evidence."
He: “!!!”
In order to bring that guy to justice, she had to prove that she had never given birth to him?!
She asked Ji Hongde, who was sitting beside her, "Is this how the government handles cases?"
Ji Hongde looked gloomy.
"Don't worry about it. Someone must have informed the government."
I thought Ji Changfeng was a good person, but I didn't expect him to be as bad as Ji Changqing.
He was stunned: "Then what should we do?"
We can't drive them away, and reporting to the police is a waste of effort. Are we just going to let those hooligans make trouble at the gate of the house and let everyone know about it?
Ji Hongde gritted his teeth and said, "The person who tied the bell must be the one to untie it."
He went out the back door with an attendant, walked around the block, and came to the Dongji Gate.
"I want to see Ji Changfeng."
He said to the doorman with a stern face.
The concierge said expressionlessly, "Do you have a visiting card? If not, I'm sorry I can't pass it on."
Ji Hongde: “?!”
He has to hand in a business card to see his grandson?
"Do you know who I am?"
he questioned the concierge.
The doorman closed the small door without saying a word.
Ji Hongde: “…”
He clenched his fists, suppressed his anger, and ordered his followers behind him: "Bring me my business card."
The attendant received the order.
After a while, Ji Hongde, who got the business card, knocked on the door of Dongji again.
The doorman took the business card, said "Please wait a moment", and closed the door again.
Ji Hongde stood at the door for half an hour, waiting until he almost wanted to leave, before he saw his eldest grandson.
Ji Changqing was leading a horse out, and stopped when he passed him. "Old Master Ji, do you want to see me?"
Old Master Ji?
Don’t even call me grandpa?
Ji Hongde's blood boiled instantly, but now was not the time to worry about this.
"What do you want me to do to make you quiet down?" he asked through gritted teeth.
Ji Changqing raised his eyebrows: "What do you mean?"
Why are you pretending!
Ji Hongde pointed at the gang of hooligans in front of his house across from him and said, "Tell them to get out of here immediately!"
Ji Changqing glanced at him and smiled, "You just had a great-grandson, and now you have a son. You're really lucky with offspring. As the saying goes, more children means more blessings. What's wrong with having another son? Why are you pushing away your blessings?"
Ji Hongde was so angry that he fell backwards.
Isn’t it said that Ji Changfeng is not good at speaking?
How come this mouth is as vicious as Ji Changqing's?
"We in Xiji are laughed at every day. Do you think you can stay out of it?"
His old eyes seemed to be blazing with fire.
"You don't like me, but you even don't let your nephews and nieces go. Do you want them to be harassed all day long?"
Ji Changqing said calmly, "If you can't afford to offend them, you can always avoid them. If you move back to Jiangzhou, can they still follow you?"
Ji Hongde suddenly understood.
"You! You want to send us back to where we came from?"
He was furious.
They were not even allowed to stay in the capital, which was totally against Tiangang.
"I didn't say that." Ji Changqing smiled, "But the countryside is indeed more suitable for retirement."
"You are already old. Instead of staying in the capital and worrying about nothing, you should take your family back to Jiangzhou and raise your children and grandchildren in peace."
"well!"
Ji Hongde laughed out of anger.
"You're so cruel!"
When others ascend to the throne, it is a personal success and everyone around them will benefit. But this evildoer is the first to ascend to the throne and will kill his own family members first.
He doesn't even recognize his ancestors.
He walked away in a huff.
Back at her own residence, He asked him, "How is it going? Is he willing to stop?"
Ji Hongde's tone remained unchanged: "Let's sell off the properties in the capital and ask someone else to take care of them. We will move back to Jiangzhou in a few days."
He was struck by a bolt from the blue.
"Go back to Jiangzhou? What nonsense are you talking about!"
They have all lived in the capital for decades. Their children and grandchildren were born here, and their daughters-in-law and grandchildren's wives are all from the capital. Why would they go back to Jiangzhou?
Ji Hongde said calmly: "If you don't reply, then you will recognize the villain outside."
He: “…”
She suddenly realized what was happening and cried out, "Changfeng wants to chase us back to Jiangzhou? Why?"
Ji Hongde: "Why do you say that?"
That evil creature never considered them as his family members. If they stayed in the capital, who knows what that evil creature would do if someone committed a crime one day.
He's face instantly turned pale.
