☆, Chapter 10 Shadow

Others did not have this privilege. The actors who auditioned before had to go to the table to get the script themselves. The reason why Wen Mianyu had the assistant hand it to her was entirely because of her excellent performance.

Director Lin was very tolerant of her and even explained to her personally, "This is the script for today's audition. There are three plots in total. You can choose one to act in."

"Okay." Wen Mianyu opened the script and started reading.

"Youth" is a biographical film about Wen Yuxian, and the female lead is, of course, Wen Mianyu's grandmother, Duan Xiuhua. Wen Mianyu was also involved in the initial development of the script, offering numerous suggestions, and the story of the hero and heroine falling in love and understanding is almost entirely true to reality.

The first plot given by Director Lin is the scene when the hero and heroine fall in love. On the beach of Qingzhu Island, the heroine confesses her love to the hero.

In the second paragraph, the male and female protagonists have different performance concepts, which leads to their first disagreement and conflict, and a slightly more intense quarrel.

The last paragraph is about the couple in their middle age. It is a very ordinary day. Their children come home and they are chatting in the kitchen while cooking, looking like they are living a peaceful life.

After Wen Mianyu finished reading the script, many memories suddenly flooded her mind. She closed the script and put it aside, then said to Director Lin, "Let me perform the third part."

Director Lin was stunned again.

Normally, the more intense the emotions in a performance, the easier it is to express and the easier it is to see the acting skills, so the more than 100 people who auditioned chose the first two segments.

The lukewarm plot is not easy to act out and not easy to make it stand out, but Wen Mianyu chose the last part.

Director Lin looked at her with a different expression and asked, "Have you thought about it? This part is really challenging."

"I've thought it over." Wen Mianyu nodded without wavering at all.

"Okay." Director Lin smiled with satisfaction and raised his hand to signal. Two staff members brought up the table used as counter props.

On the side, the male actor who was specially invited for the audition also stood up from his chair.

"Xiao Li, please sit down first. You don't need to go on stage yet." Director Lin said to the male actor.

Director Lin turned to look at Lu Congxu beside him and said, "Since Mr. Lu is here today, why don't you also perform a scene? Let's have a scene with the newcomers."

Lu Congxu had originally lowered his eyes, not knowing what he was thinking. Upon hearing this, he raised his eyes and his expression paused slightly.

Wen Mianyu was also a little surprised.

Director Lin leaned closer to Lu Congxu and said in a low voice, "It's rare to meet such a good talent. Congxu, please come down and help me train her. If she's chosen, she'll be your little heroine from now on. Just think of it as a pre-screening rehearsal."

Lu Congxu did not comment on the words "your little heroine". He stood up and walked towards Wen Mianyu.

When he got closer, Wen Mianyu handed him the script.

Lu Congxu took it and looked through it, and found that it was different from the script he received. Probably to avoid leaking secrets, this plot was not in the official script.

Lu Congxu wrote down the lines, put the script aside, and nodded to Wen Mianyu to indicate that they could begin.

Wen Mianyu smiled, lowered her eyes for a moment, and when she looked up again, she was already immersed in the play.

Her eyes had changed. She was no longer a girl in her twenties. Her eyes were filled with the gentleness and calmness accumulated over forty years.

She turned her back to Lu Congxu and, while kneading the nonexistent flour on the kitchen counter, said in a casual tone, "I heard Xiaomei has a boyfriend, a university professor."

For some reason, Lu Congxu actually saw the shadow of Duan Xiuhua in her for a moment.
