Tang Anan returned to Chi Yanhuai before dark and looked at him with a smile on her face.
Chi Yanhuai pinched her fair cheeks and said gently, "Are you willing to come back?"
Tang Anan looked at him with her lively eyes and beckoned him to come closer. Chi Yanhuai leaned over and lowered his eyelashes.
She whispered, "I saw a lot of interesting things. I'll tell you about them slowly."
Chi Yanhuai's eyelashes trembled slightly, and he turned his head to meet her smiling eyes. His voice was magnetic and low: "You have been wandering around all day just to find the secret of this village?"
Tang Anan snapped his fingers and winked mischievously, "Correct."
"Isn't that why my brother chatted with those villagers?"
"Oh." Chi Yanhuai lowered his eyes and chuckled, "Let's talk somewhere else."
The two of them moved to a secluded corner, accompanied by Chi Yanduo and his direct subordinates.
Chi Yanduo looked at Tang An'an's pure eyes filled with excitement. He raised his eyebrows and said calmly, "Little friend, what did you find?"
Tang Anan raised her index finger to her lips and said, "Shhh..."
She threw the doll down, and it landed steadily on the ground. Its eyes were glowing faintly red as it looked around. Its legs hopped around in a circle and then returned to Tang Anan's arms.
He shook his head at her and grinned.
"Okay, we can talk now." Tang Anan touched the doll's golden hair and looked up at the three people in front of him.
Chi Yanduo stared at the doll in her arms quietly, and said with his thin lips: "Your doll is very interesting."
Tang Anan smiled and said, "Almighty Baby, you won't have the chance to enjoy this blessing."
Chi Yanduo: "..."
She straightened her expression and said, "Let's get down to business." The next second, she dropped a shocking news.
"I suspect they are raising zombies."
Chi Yanduo; "?"
Chi Yanhuai: "..."
officer:"!!!"
Then she added, "And we'll be the new food for these things."
Chi Yanduo narrowed his long eyelashes and sneered, "Things are really getting more and more interesting, but so far these are just your guesses. Do you have anything to prove it?"
"Of course," Tang An'an said cheerfully, adding, "First, the villagers' attitude is extremely suspicious. As soldiers, you should be more sensitive to this."
Chi Yanduo: "This doesn't mean anything. The people have always been enthusiastic about the military."
Tang Anan: "But is this really the case? There's a difference between genuine enthusiasm and fake enthusiasm. I won't elaborate on this."
"Secondly, the village cadres are incomplete. That means someone is missing, but they act as if nothing happened."
Officer: "It's possible that these cadres are out on business and haven't returned yet."
Tang Anan shook her head. Before she could say anything, Chi Yanhuai spoke up, "According to their unanimous statement, no one has left the village for a few months."
In other words, the idea of going out to do things is not true.
He looked at Tang An'an and said, "I also asked them about the missing village cadres, and they said they had resigned and returned home. I asked again, and they said the same thing, but the micro-expressions on their faces can't lie."
"It's clear that they collectively fabricated a false message."
Tang Anan nodded. "That's right. If he resigned and went home, there would definitely be a new village official to take over. The apocalypse happened a month ago, and this village isn't particularly poor or remote, so it shouldn't be difficult to find a successor."
"In other words, these missing village cadres may still be in this village. Either their deaths were caused by humans and they are deliberately concealing it, or..."
She paused.
"These people are infected and they could be the vectors or the victims."
