☆, Chapter 78 Why don’t you want her?
For the first time, Li Muli felt that time was passing so slowly. The ticking of the clock struck her heart hard.
The man on the hospital bed was pale, his head was tense, and he had multiple fractures throughout his body.
He has visibly lost a lot of weight.
Her eyes were slightly moist.
"Mrs. Fu, you should go back and rest. Your body can't take this," Lin Yuan said, unable to bear it any longer, and stepped forward to dissuade her.
She has been in the hospital for two days and two nights, and she is still wearing the same clothes from that day.
She wanted to wait for him to wake up so he could see her immediately.
Li Muli bit her lower lip, her eyes fixed on the unconscious man, afraid of missing anything.
She murmured softly, "Ah Yan, are you in a lot of pain?"
No one answered.
Her small hand nestled in his large hand, and tears finally welled up and fell onto the back of his hand.
Lin Yuan handed her a sanitary napkin and gently comforted her, "Mrs. Fu, let's go home first."
Li Muli reluctantly left the ward.
Lin Yuan stopped and sighed softly, "President Fu, please get well soon. Tao Ran can't sit still anymore."
As soon as Li Muli opened the door after returning home, tears instantly streamed down her face.
It's only been two days since I left, but it feels like I've been gone for ages.
Not long ago, he was holding her and calling her "baby," burying his face in her neck and acting cute.
The pink slippers were still lying in the entryway, while the blue slippers were right next to them, leaning against each other.
Just like they used to be.
Li Muli seemed unable to hold back any longer and squatted down at the door, bursting into tears.
"Baby, isn't it pretty?" The man pulled it out from behind him like a child showing off a treasure.
Pink and dark blue.
Childish couple slippers.
She wrapped her arms around his waist and complained sweetly, "Fu Chenyan, pink, you're so tacky!"
The man reached out and pinched her cheek, looking at her expectantly, "Baby, you don't like me?"
"Hmph," the girl chuckled and tried to slip away.
But the man pulled her into his arms with his long arms, his fingers lightly brushing the tip of her nose, and he leaned down to kiss her.
After a long pause, she stared with her beautiful eyes, her eyes reddening, and whispered her accusation, "It hurts."
"Where does it hurt?"
She punched him in the chest, tears welling in her eyes, looking pitiful. "It's too hard, it hurts my nose."
He chuckled softly.
The man gently massaged her nose, and then kissed it.
He always liked to kiss her.
"Ah Yan, will you get up and kiss me?"
The girl squatted on the ground, hugging herself tightly, and whispered, "Ayan, I miss you so much."
You never know how much you can love someone until they disappear from your life.
"Madam, please get up. Crying like this is bad for your eyes," Aunt Zhong said, squatting down to comfort her after hearing the noise at the door.
Li Muli looked up and hugged Aunt Zhong, and was helped up after a while.
His presence was felt throughout the entire villa.
Their shadows are everywhere.
They watched TV together on the sofa.
They ate together at the table.
...
On the dining table, there were also bright red roses in a glass bottle, looking delicate and beautiful.
Its vigorous vitality is in full bloom.
In the bedroom, there was a photo of them kissing on the bedside table. Her smile was radiant, his eyes were smiling, and his face was full of doting affection.
She gently closed her eyes, and it seemed she could see the man holding her in his arms, teasing her in a frivolous tone, "Baby, are you craving something?"
"Baby, I want to kiss you."
"Baby, I love you."
The touching words of love still seem to echo in my ears.
In the bathroom, the couple's toothbrushes were still nestled together in their mouthwash cups. The towels were neatly folded.
"Baby, let me help you," the man gently lifted her onto the sink, his movements incredibly tender.
He seemed to enjoy doing everything for her.
"Baby, look how big the bathroom is, is there anything missing?" The man buried his head in the crook of her neck, his voice low and deep.
She really looked around very carefully to see what was missing.
Then, the man picked her up and chuckled, "This bathroom is so big, it doesn't need my baby and me."
...
A bath for two.
Delicate and sweet.
She was completely limp, while the man acted as if nothing had happened, and in the end, he had to carry her back to the bedroom.
It's full of memories, but that person isn't here with me anymore.
She packed some personal items and drove to the hospital.
As long as I'm by his side, that's good.
When I arrived at the hospital and pushed open the door, the person inside was still lying quietly.
The room was completely silent except for the sounds of the instruments and his even breathing.
This was to let her know that he was still alive.
"Ah Yan, please wake up soon, I miss you so much," she said, holding his large hand, tears streaming down her face. "Ah Yan."
What she feared was that if he were no longer in her life, then her remaining years would have no meaning.
What she fears is that everything will repeat itself.
What she feared was that they would never be able to attain enlightenment in any lifetime.
Why is it so, so hard to just love someone?
Li Muli opened the window, letting the cold wind blow in, bringing a touch of coolness.
She turned around, leaned against the window, and sighed silently.
Someone knocked on the door; it was Old Master Fu.
"How is Chen Yan?" The old man asked softly, leaning on his cane.
Li Muli clenched her fingers and nodded, "It's getting better."
The old man's sharp black eyes were fixed on her, emanating a palpable sense of pressure. "Mu Li, don't blame me for being harsh."
"In our Fu family, the most capable people always rise to the top."
"If Chen Yan doesn't wake up soon, the Fu family..." will have to change hands.
With that, Li Muli instantly understood.
The old man left, leaning on his cane.
Li Muli leaned against the door and sighed softly.
At this moment, she really, really wanted to hug him.
"Ayan, how can you wake up?"
Her response was, as always, deathly silence.
Li Muli gently knelt beside his bed, holding his large hand, before preparing to fall asleep.
She has practically made the hospital her home.
I only feel truly safe when I'm by his side.
An untimely cell phone rang; it was Yin Hanzhi.
The voice on the other end was cautious, yet filled with worry and concern: "Lili, can we meet? I'm downstairs at the hospital."
After a moment of contemplation, Li Muli softly agreed.
Avoidance is never the solution to problems.
Cherishing should be a compulsory course in life.
She bent down and gently kissed the man's forehead, her voice soft and soothing, "Honey, I'll be right back. Be good and wait for me."
On her way downstairs, she felt worried, panicked, and nervous about learning the truth.
Yin Hanzhi stood at the top of the stairs waiting for her. When he saw the girl come down, his face was full of tenderness.
"Lili, thank you for coming out."
Li Muli gently rubbed her fingers, her head lowered, and remained silent.
"Lili, you must be tired. Come back with your brother." The man stepped forward and put his hands on her shoulders, his eyes full of seriousness.
Li Muli looked up and murmured softly, "Why?"
Why don't you want her?
Why did you abandon her?
Why make her live under someone else's roof?
Why never look for her?
Why... is it as if she doesn't exist?
