☆、Extra 32: Baby, Don’t Be Unhappy (Jiang Yu Chapter)

Happy 20th birthday, my darling.

The blessings still echoed in her ears; it was her beautiful and happy twentieth birthday.

"Baby, don't be unhappy, be happy and joyful forever." Jiang's mother stroked her head, her eyes filled with love, reluctance, and pity.

Father Jiang followed up, "Sweetie, even if you're alone, you must live well, take good care of yourself, eat well, and sleep well."

Jiang Yu found these words rather strange, as if they were giving her some kind of instruction.

She looked up at them, only to see them walk further and further away until they disappeared from her sight.

She desperately reached out to grab it, calling out repeatedly in a hurried and rapid voice, "Daddy, Mommy."

But it was all in vain; they never looked back.

"Mom and Dad." She woke up with a start again, jumping out of bed. It was already broad daylight, and the people beside her were no longer there.

But the man heard the noise and rushed over quickly, asking her softly, "What's wrong, baby?"

Jiang Yu frowned, grabbed his arm tightly, and said in a trembling voice, "I dreamt that my parents are gone, and I want to go find them."

She hurriedly got out of bed and put on her shoes, her whole body trembling, yet her movements were so quick, as if she was afraid of missing something.

Yin Yufeng felt a pang of pain in his heart, and he hugged her tightly from behind, calling her softly, "Baby."

His voice trembled slightly, filled with heartache and sorrow.

Jiang Yu paused for a moment, then forcefully broke free from him, somewhat hysterically, "Let me go, Yin Yufeng, I need to find my parents. They'll be sad if they can't find me."

Yin Yufeng gently kissed the end of her hair and patiently coaxed her, "How about we go find them after we finish eating?"

"No, they must be very anxious. I want to go now." Jiang Yu hesitated for a second before resolutely refusing, still struggling hard.

Her stomach seemed to hear her protest, and suddenly a sharp pain shot through her. Her face turned pale instantly, and she murmured "It hurts" before fainting in his arms.

Fortunately, he had made preparations in advance; his family doctor lived next door and was always ready.

After examining her, the doctor said in a low voice, "My wife was overwhelmed with grief and the baby started to move. But everything is fine now."

"It's not advisable for pregnant women to have too many emotional fluctuations, Mr. Yin, please take good care of her."

There were some things he didn't even know how to say. He told Mrs. Yin not to have too much emotional fluctuation, but how could she not feel pain after experiencing such a major change in her life?

Even though they were already used to separation and death, they still couldn't help but feel sad.

Life is unpredictable and can catch us off guard.

After seeing the doctor off, Yin Yufeng sat on the edge of the bed, holding her hands in his own, his mind filled with a myriad of thoughts. If he could, he would take her place and bear all that suffering and pain.

She slept very restlessly, muttering something to herself, and tears even fell involuntarily. She must have been having a very sad dream.

Why does Heaven, seeing the suffering of mortals, refuse to offer even the slightest helping hand?

Yin Yufeng reached out and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, his voice gentle yet firm, "Don't cry, baby, okay?"

No one answered; instead, tears flowed faster and more profusely.

When Jiang Yu opened her eyes again, they were much calmer, as if she had accepted everything.

She simply asked the man softly, "Baby, is he alright?"

“The baby is healthy. He said, Mom, don’t be sad.” Yin Yufeng bent down and kissed her forehead, his voice gentle.

Jiang Yu nodded, her eyes staring straight ahead, somewhat numb, as if talking to herself, "They told me not to be unhappy, to take care of myself, and to take care of the baby."

"By the way, they said that in the next life our home will also be very beautiful and very gentle. They will come to take me home after they have settled everything."

"They said they would stay with me and take care of me where I couldn't see them." The voice was so low it was almost inaudible.

Yin Yufeng helped the girl sit up and gently held her in his arms. "Your parents also want to see that you are doing well, taking good care of yourself and the baby. They will be very proud."

Jiang Yu nodded, and after a while said, "Let's go for a walk. It feels like it's been a long time since we've seen the outside world."

Her body was a little weak, and she could only lean against his strength. The sun was shining brightly outside, and the warm summer breeze made her feel warm inside.

Jiang Yu wanted to smile slightly after seeing something, but ultimately gave up. "I was thinking that Grandma would play on that swing with the baby. It would be so much fun."

Just thinking about that scene makes her feel happy and fulfilled.

"What a pity, there are so many things I didn't have time to do."

"I'll accompany the baby on the swing from now on." He looked at the swing and hugged the baby tighter.

Jiang Yu thought, this summer doesn't seem so gentle.

"My parents were originally going on a trip, but they've been so busy with work these past few years that they've rarely had time to go out and travel."

“They would have had a lot of fun and would have sent me beautiful postcards.”

"We were originally going to be very happy and joyful to welcome the arrival of this baby together. His grandparents would name him and give him their best wishes."

"We should have had a very, very long time."

Her face was buried in his chest, as if she were talking to herself, or perhaps venting her sadness and grievances.

"Why them of all? Why me of all?" The man clearly noticed that his chest was soaked with tears.

He simply patted her back and gently coaxed her, "Don't cry, baby, don't cry."

Jiang Yu was still muttering "why" to herself, but in her heart she suddenly remembered the countless times she had thought she was God's favorite, and the conservation law of the world that she had thought of when she was newly married.

So, it turns out she had a premonition that she would lose something?

However, the price of this loss was far too heavy.

If she had never received so much happiness, then could you please not take away the most important person in her life?

She really, really, really missed them.

"Don't cry, baby. If you cry, you'll make Mommy sad too."

After a moment of silence, she changed the subject, "Yin Yufeng, do you think our baby will be a boy or a girl?"

Her wallowing in her sadness only makes those who love her feel sorry for her and put her in a difficult position. She should learn to grow up.

Yin Yufeng affectionately patted her head, "It's all good, as long as it's a baby you gave birth to."

"Then I hope it's a boy, so he can take care of his sister," Jiang Yu said softly.

She selfishly hoped that the girl would be pampered and spoiled.

"Okay. Heaven will hear your wishes; it said it will grant your every wish."
