Chapter 55
In the woods, two figures, one black and one white, were fighting with each other.
Signus himself is a guardian beast, and he knows that the pollutant in front of him is extremely powerful. In order to prevent it from causing more harm to others, he leads it alone to a secluded place.
He summoned a scepter out of thin air, and a holy white light emanated from the center of the scepter. The light split and scattered, embedding into the ground at the feet of the pollutant, forming a light prison that trapped it.
The pollutant surrounded by black mist has long black hair.
The ears and tail have the beastman characteristics of a lion, but the expression of the person is not so much an expressionless ice face as it is very stiff.
"This can't trap me." Its low voice seemed to come from far away, and it reached out to grasp the bars of the light prison.
“Sizzle—”
As soon as he grasped the fence formed by the white light, the heat from the light seemed to burn through his palms. Signus also saw white smoke coming out of his palms.
But the pollutant seemed to be insensitive to the pain. Not only did it not even frown, it also did not intend to withdraw its hand. Instead, it continued to exert force, breaking the light prison with brute force!
"Snap!" The light prison broke!
Signus frowned and retreated.
Before the pollutant even stepped out of the light prison, it swung its claws at Signus.
Signus thought he could dodge the attack from far enough away, but unexpectedly, the pollutant's claws appeared from behind him, capable of tearing through space and striking him from behind.
"!" Signus. His back was scratched by the claw, and blood was dripping all over his back. He fell to his knees on the ground.
He wanted to get up, but black boots appeared in front of him, and the pollutant had already walked in front of him.
Signus' pupils tightened.
His animal form was that of a swan, and when he sensed the approach of pollutants, he tried to spread the white wings behind him to create distance.
But as soon as the wings opened, they were pinched by pollutants.
"Ouch!" Signus groaned in pain.
Pollutant lifted Signus up by his wings and asked him, "Why do you smell like her?"
Signus looked at the pollutants in front of him that were almost covered by black fog. He didn't know if it was because he was pinched or for some other reason, but every time he looked closely to see the pollutants clearly, he felt like he was seeing double.
"...I don't know who you are talking about." Even though he had a candidate in mind, Signus did not intend to admit it.
"Then... I'll go find her myself." Pollutant didn't intend to waste any more time with him, so he let go of his wings and turned away.
Before it could take a step, its ankle was suddenly grabbed.
Signus: You are not allowed to go.
Pollutant stared at Signus expressionlessly, not understanding why he was in such a mess. He was even trying to stop him: "Just stay still, and I won't continue..."
It put its hand on Signus's white feathers again, and with a "swish", the wings were like a piece of paper in his hand. Signus's single wing was torn off by him, and bright red blood flowed all over the ground. Signus's face turned pale in an instant, and his body was shaking.
Signus lost consciousness and fell to the ground. His grip on the pollutant's ankle lost its strength. The pollutant struggled slightly and walked away easily, leaving behind one blood-stained shoe print after another.
When Cheng Fu and the others arrived at the woods, they could no longer hear the sounds of fighting. Instead, the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
"Signus!" As soon as she landed, Cheng Fu found Signus lying on the ground not far away.
The blood flowing from his body dyed his white robe red. The white wings on his back were torn off alive, and bloodstained feathers were scattered on the ground.
Cheng Fu's heart sank.
"How could this happen..." Cheng Fu knelt beside him, but Signus was too seriously injured and she didn't know where to start for a moment.
Even Xiao Wan, who had never had a good impression of Signus, felt a chill in his heart when he saw this scene.
"This is the head priest..."
It can be said that he is the most powerful among male orcs.
How powerful must the pollutant be to beat someone like this, and... this can almost be said to be a massacre.
Cheng Fu didn't care whether Signus's blood would stain her body. She just tried to wake him up: "Signus... can you hear my voice? Can you let me out of the temple? If you are in the temple, such a serious injury might..."
Signus was still unconscious, and it was Xiao Wanyi who spoke first: "You can't enter the temple now."
"Why?"
Xiao Wanyi pointed at Signus, and only then did Cheng Fu see a red mist spreading from deep within his body, almost completely engulfing Signus.
Cheng Fu paused, "It's the pollutant in the temple..."
The guardian beast and the pollutants are growing stronger and weaker. Signus is in such a weak state now. How could the pollutants miss such a good opportunity?
"Signus..."
Cheng Fu looked at Signus, whose face was gradually losing color, and her heart felt so heavy that she could hardly breathe.
In just a short time, a good person became like this...
Cheng Fu couldn't describe the feeling in her heart, she could only shout his name again and again. Later on, Cheng Fu didn't dare to shout any more, for she was afraid that her voice would tremble.
Suddenly, Signus's long eyelashes moved and he slowly opened his eyes.
"Signus!" Cheng Fu was surprised: "You're awake?"
Signus's eyes were unfocused, but he did hear Cheng Fu's voice.
He tried to prop himself up, but his whole body felt like it was being torn apart. Every time he moved, he felt his body and bones were splitting apart. The pain made him frown and his face turned even paler.
