Chapter 227: Take a Break

Now that she has made up her mind, she wants to make life difficult for Hu Meizhen and the others.

A hint of intense hatred flashed through Guan Wanwan's gentle eyes, but it quickly dissipated when she saw her daughter across from her. She still had her precious daughter, and her life would get better and better in the future.

"What are your plans for today? Is Director Hao very happy?" She could guess Director Hao's smug expression without going to the unit.

Guan Wanwan couldn't help but laugh. "That's right! Our unit has received many performance invitations, even from foreign countries. Many TV stations, groups, and units...they are all scheduled until next year. Now Director Hao is eager to praise our group to the sky."

The lead dancer of Feitian, along with a dozen or so dancers and others like Peng Jinghua, formed a separate group specializing in this dance. Now that it has become popular, they have received countless invitations to perform it.

Everyone in the group received a salary and bonus increase, with Guan Wanwan receiving the biggest increase.

"Then how did you arrange it?" Guan Jibai asked curiously.

"It all depends on Director Hao and Teacher Peng's arrangements." Guan Wanwan had no objection to the arrangements, and she wasn't afraid of the hard work. As long as the pay was guaranteed and she could dance with peace of mind, she was happy. Everything she had now was everything she had always dreamed of.

She doesn't have high demands.

Guan Jibai noticed this too, thinking to himself how lucky Director Hao was. Meeting someone as easygoing as her own mother would surely lead to a higher level of prestige and, to put it bluntly, a rise in fame.

But my biological mother didn’t. After all, she had experienced many ups and downs in her life, so her mentality was very stable.

"Okay! But Director Hao has to give us a raise." Guan Jibai didn't want to give Director Hao too little.

Guan Wanwan couldn't help laughing. "Guo Fengjun and I said the same thing. Okay, I have to go to work now. You can eat slowly. After dinner, just put the dishes in the kitchen and I'll wash them when I come back."

"Will you be back tonight?"

"Uh... I'm not coming back." Guan Wanwan held her forehead helplessly, "Director Hao has arranged a very tight schedule of performances. I have to go to the neighboring province today and won't be back for about a week." After counting carefully, she found that she still had other performances after returning.

I won’t have time to spend with my daughter in the next six months.

"I'm sorry, Xiaobai, mommy doesn't have time to accompany you."

Guan Jibai immediately waved his hand in disdain, "Don't do it now. You should make more money for me. I'm also very busy and don't need you to accompany me. You have brought everything for your long journey. Just don't work too hard."

"Don't worry! Teacher Peng will definitely arrange everything well." Guan Wanwan's eyes were full of trust and admiration when she mentioned Peng Jinghua. "She is truly our destined benefactor."

"Yes, yes, yes." Peng Jinghua would be so happy if she heard this.

After Guan Wanwan finished her meal and packed up her things, Guo Fengjun was ready to come over. The two of them had the same performance arrangements, and their itinerary for the trip to the neighboring province was exactly the same.

After spending some time together, Guo Fengjun and Guan Wanwan have become good friends. They rehearse together, go to and from work together, and spend more time together than with Guan Jibai. Guan Jibai, on the other hand, has become a close friend with Aunt Tao, regardless of age.

Professor Zhuo once joked about it!

After Guan Wanwan and Guo Fengjun left, Guan Jibai slowly finished his breakfast and cleaned up the dishes. He found that there was no hot water in the kettle, so he was too lazy to wash the dishes because he was afraid of getting his hands cold.

Forget it, I’ll wash it after the next meal.

Guan Jibai hesitated for a second, then felt at ease being a lazy person.

Coming out of the kitchen, I caught sight of the literary journal on the table, and a hint of sarcasm curled up my lips. Now that the news had gotten out, I wondered how Hu Meizhen would continue to boast about her title as a famous historian.
