"I came to see you."
On their second meeting, Xi Bai walked into the ward with such a swagger.
May I sit?
He asked Yan Can.
Yan Can pointed to her leg and said, "I have difficulty moving around, please feel free to do as you please."
My butt was practically glued to the chair, and I still asked if I could sit down.
Xi Bai was indeed very casual.
He sat down on the chair next to the hospital bed.
Yan Can hesitated, as if she wanted to say something but then stopped.
That was a spot that my older brother had worked really hard to get; before that, it was always my mother sitting there.
Seeing that she had something to say, Xi Bai asked, "What do you want to say?"
Yan Can: "Why would Mr. Xi come to see me?"
Xi Bai: "I came here on a whim, is that a bit presumptuous? Please forgive me."
Yan Can smiled and thanked Xi Bai for his concern, but inwardly she was secretly complaining.
[How presumptuous of me.]
[We've only just met, and we're not even as familiar with each other as Su Xiangxiang, who's always trying to kill me.]
Xi Bai's expression changed slightly.
really.
He was not hallucinating.
However, comparing him to that fake heiress is somewhat insulting to his character, isn't it?
But Yan Can couldn't hear his thoughts, nor did she know that he could hear hers. She was still pretending to be an innocent and polite child.
"How is your injury healing? When can you be discharged from the hospital?"
Xi Bai asked the question casually.
Yan Can said, "I'm recovering well, and I think I can be discharged now, but the doctor and my family say I should be observed for two more days."
[I am bored. ]
[The ward is so small, and Mom and Third Brother are here all day long, so Su Xiangxiang doesn't have any room to do anything here.]
It's Su Xiangxiang again?
Xi Bai thought of the previous "funeral".
What exactly was Yan Can's past life like?
Why was he there?
"Broken bones are no small matter; you should listen to the doctor."
After Xi Bai finished speaking, Yan Can let out a long sigh.
[I don't want to hear it, but I have no say in it.]
The faint resentment in her eyes amused Xi Bai, making him unable to suppress a smile.
"why are you laughing?"
"What are you laughing at?"
Yan Can's voice and Su Shaozhou's voice rang out at the same time.
When Su Shaozhou walked in, he found that Xi Bai had come to the ward at some point and was sitting in the chair that Su Shaozhou had been sitting in. Su Shaozhou immediately became a little wary.
"What are you doing here, Young Master Xi?"
Xi Bai stood up and explained, "I just came out of that ward and was passing by, so I came in to take a look."
Just passing by?
Su Shaozhou didn't believe this explanation.
He walked over and naturally pulled the chair closer to the bed, then asked Yan Can if she was comfortable sitting like this and if she wanted to lie down.
Yan Can shook her head, "My back hurts from lying down for too long, I want to sit for a while."
"Then sit down for a while."
As Su Shaozhou spoke, he raised the bed, placed two pillows behind Yan Can's back, and handed his phone to Yan Can so she could play games.
After doing all this, he remembered that Xi Bai was still there, and hurriedly said, "I'm sorry for neglecting you."
Xi Bai said it was nothing.
Su Shaozhou then asked him when he would return to the capital.
Xi Bai: "The itinerary is undecided."
Su Shaozhou: "Whenever it is, just let me know, and I'll give you a farewell dinner."
Xi Bai: "It's a deal."
Yan Can was puzzled as she played the game.
What's going on between the eldest brother and Xi Bai?
[Did you hit it off immediately?]
Su Shaozhou: "..."
Xi Bai: "..."
Although they do have some mutual respect, they are far from being instant friends.
"Big brother, it's Gangma..."
Su Shaoyang rushed back.
Before he could finish speaking, he saw an uninvited guest.
He raised an eyebrow, scrutinized Xi Bai with a critical look, then looked at Su Shaozhou with a questioning gaze.
What's Xi Bai doing here?
Su Shaozhou: "What happened?"
Su Shaoyang hesitated for a moment, and seeing that Xi Bai had no intention of leaving, he said that Su Xiangxiang had run away from home after causing trouble, and asked if she had come to the hospital.
Su Shaozhou remained expressionless.
Yan Can started complaining again.
[To use the same trick for two lifetimes without getting tired of it—that's quite a talent.]
[However, true to Su Xiangxiang's nature, what she would do at this point wouldn't be run away from home, but rather come to the hospital to blame me.]
What are they accusing them of?
Su Shaozhou and Su Shaoyang both thought it was absurd.
Today's events have absolutely nothing to do with Yan Can, so how could Su Xiangxiang pin the blame on Yan Can?
The comical outcome became reality.
The next second, Su Xiangxiang arrived at the ward.
It's unclear whether she even noticed there were other people in the ward, but she started berating Yan Can.
"It's all your fault!"
"If it weren't for you, my brother wouldn't have gone to renovate the small building, the family wouldn't have hired workers, I wouldn't have stopped the workers from working because my beautiful memories were being destroyed, and that worker wouldn't have gotten injured!"
"..."
A brief silence fell over the ward.
Yan Can's inner thoughts broke the silence.
[A touching logic.]
[A person went to a supermarket, bought a knife, killed someone for some unknown reason, and then went to the knife manufacturer, saying, "If you hadn't made the knife, why would I have killed someone?"]
[A normal person would think this is insane, but what can you do when the protagonist is the main character?]
[The main character is therefore reasonable.]
And Su Shaoyang did indeed swear.
"Hold!"
It was clearly their own fault, yet they insisted on pinning the blame on someone else, and they did it so confidently. They have absolutely no shame.
