Chapter 31 "Tearing Open the Scar" (Part 2)

He Sizhao glanced at the team members and walked quickly to Jiang Chuyi.

The team members who met his eyes lowered their heads uncomfortably.

Whatever the reason, on the surface, they were just trying to make things difficult for the person the boss loved. Honestly, since the boss wanted it, they had no right to complain about it.

He Shizhao's position in their hearts is incomparable, so naturally they feel uncomfortable when they meet his eyes now.

He Sizhao was still thinking about how to talk to Jiang Chuyi.

He knew his teammates well, and from looking at their expressions and seeing the mineral water bottles in some of their hands, it wasn't hard to guess what had caused the dispute.

He Sizhao felt a headache when he thought about their possibly unfriendly attitude. Xiaoyi would definitely be angry.

He thought for a moment and then picked a topic that wouldn't easily ignite the topic: "Xiaoyi, are you thirsty? I'll get you some water."

"You're running low on water?"

Jiang Chuyi's voice sounded at the same time as his, causing He Sizhao to pause.

"No," He Sizhao said, "I'll get you another bottle."

Jiang Chuyi glared at him unhappily.

"What's going on? What are you all doing here?"

Wuyi's loud voice sounded from outside the crowd. Jiang Chuyi looked up and saw him carrying a clean sleeping bag and squeezing in with difficulty.

Beside him were Su Mo and Lian Riqing, both of whom were looking at this side with somewhat strange eyes.

Wu Yi already knew that what had just happened was a huge misunderstanding. Seeing Jiang Chuyi, his eyes were a little vague: "Xiao, Xiaoyi, I brought you a sleeping bag."

"Oh." Jiang Chuyi leaned sideways, "Put it in."

Wuyi glanced at He Shizhao cautiously, gave him a flattering smile, and slipped into the tent.

"Are you hungry?" He Sizhao breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Jiang Chuyi didn't seem angry. He pretended to be calm and tried to change the subject. "Do you want to eat something?"

Jiang Chuyi thought about it and said, "That's fine."

It was just time for dinner, Su Mo winked at everyone, and everyone hurried to the open space.

Except for Jiang Chuyi's meal which was specially prepared vegetables, everyone else brought canned food and bread, which were all top-notch delicacies in the apocalypse.

Everyone enjoyed the meal very much.

Except Jiang Chuyi.

She rummaged through the bowl of food in her hand, frowned and leaned forward to smell it, then threw away the bowl and didn't want to eat anymore.

"Xiaoyi, what's wrong? Aren't you hungry?" Wen Xi asked hurriedly.

"How dare you ask?" Jiang Chuyi glared at her. "You were doing so well last night, how come your level is so rubbish today? It's so disgusting."

Wen Xi showed a look of astonishment, and the others pricked up their ears and even slowed down their eating speed.

"I... didn't cook for you last night." Wen Xi said, and immediately reacted. He glanced at He Sizhao with an indescribable look.

"It wasn't you?" Jiang Chuyi heard something, "Didn't you do it the previous times?"

Now this bowl of food tasted like boiled vegetables and was obviously not on the same level as the delicious food she had eaten before, just like the first time Wen Xi made it.

I originally thought she had made progress, but it turned out that it wasn't her doing at all.

Wen Xi shook his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, and pointed at He Sizhao, who was unmoved, with an expression as if he was dreaming.

"Xiaoyi, the one who cooked for you these past two days was Captain He."

As soon as these words came out, He Sizhao immediately attracted everyone's attention.

Everyone looked as if they could swallow a duck egg.

Jiang Chuyi blinked and looked at He Sizhao: "Did you do this?"

He Sizhao nodded calmly: "Yes."

There was nothing to hide, but Jiang Chuyi didn't ask before, so he didn't say it.

Jiang Chuyi looked at him with strange eyes, and ideas began to form in his mind.

"He Sizhao, I'm going somewhere. You come with me." She suddenly said, "Right now."

"Go somewhere? Where?" Wuyi quickly swallowed the food. They ate quickly and were almost done now. "It's all bare here. Where can we go?"

There are so many of them that they are more likely to attract zombies, so every time they set up camp, they try to choose a deserted place.

It's not just because there are few zombies, but also because once zombies appear in the distance, the sentries will quickly discover their traces.

Now they are in a field of weeds, with no village or shop around. It is difficult to even tell where they are, let alone where they can go.

"Don't worry about it." Jiang Chuyi pushed Wuyi aside and continued to look at He Sizhao, "Are you going or not?"

He Sizhao had been looking at her and nodded when he heard her: "Okay."

"Boss!" Wu Wu exclaimed in surprise.

"Brother Zhao, wait a moment." Su Mo put away his things, a gentle smile on his lips, and asked softly, "Xiaoyi, do you mind if we go together?"

Jiang Chuyi nodded indifferently: "Whatever."

He Sizhao and Su Mo looked at each other, then winked at Wuyi. Wuyi understood and shut up, then turned around to get his weapon.

"It's better to have more people." Jiang Chuyi thought for a moment and said, "Bring more bottles."

If you see water but have nothing to put it back in, it will be all in vain.

He Sizhao's eyebrows twitched, and both he and Su Mo showed a hint of surprise on their faces.

"Teams two and three come with us, the rest of you stay where you are." He Sizhao instructed Su Mo, then looked at Lian Riqing not far away, "Stay alert and wait for my news."

"Is this appropriate?" Lian Riqing finished her food. She crossed her arms and glanced at Jiang Chuyi. "Just because of a little girl's words, we rashly sent out so many people. What if this is a trap?"

"Probably not. I have a strange feeling." Su Mo said thoughtfully, then he blew a long whistle.

Jiang Chuyi glanced at him. The book said that this was Su Mo summoning the beasts he controlled.

From a distance, a snow-white furry object ran towards this side, jumped on its hind feet, and jumped directly into Su Mo's arms.

Jiang Chuyi took a closer look and saw a short ball-shaped tail and large, drooping ears. It was actually a white lop-eared rabbit!

She seemed frightened and took a step back, bumping into He Sizhao.

"Su Mo has awakened the talent of controlling beasts. This is one of his aids." He Sizhao thought she was frightened by this skill and explained to her, "You should know about the talent of controlling beasts, right?"

"Its name is Xiaoxue." When facing an animal, the gentleness on Su Mo's face was obviously more genuine. He grabbed one of the rabbit's front paws and waved it at Jiang Chuyi, "Say hi."

Jiang Chuyi stared straight at the well-behaved lop-eared rabbit.

He Sizhao felt something was wrong, lowered his head and asked softly, "What's wrong?"

Jiang Chuyi turned around stiffly, letting the rabbit out of his sight: "Keep it away from me."

Su Mo and He Sizhao looked at each other and said, "Xiaoyi, don't you like it? Don't be afraid. Animals have more acute perceptions than humans. In times like this, they can help us a lot."

Jiang Chuyi pursed her lips, said nothing, stood up and walked away.

He Sizhao followed immediately.

"You've even released your summoned beast. What did you foresee?" Lian Riqing stretched out her fingertips to tease the rabbit in Su Mo's arms, then looked in the direction the two had left. "Is that girl really worth your protection?"

Just now in the meeting, Jiang Chuyi's "origin" had been explained to her.

"She saved Zhao Ge and Wen Xi, so it's only natural that they wouldn't be able to bear with her," Su Mo said loudly enough for everyone else to hear. "After all, Xiaoyi is a pitiful person. As long as it doesn't affect us, let's be more tolerant of her."

Hearing his words, the team members who had just surrounded Jiang Chuyi all showed expressions of surprise and shame.

They didn't know before that Jiang Chuyi had done such a great thing.

If they had known earlier, they would not have argued with her no matter what they said, let alone said those harsh words...

The team member who had been stuffed with a bottle looked guilty.

Su Mo calmly pushed his glasses down and looked at Lian Riqing: "Ah Qing, I'll leave it to you to look after the house. I do have a feeling that this time we should have a good harvest."

"I didn't know that you had awakened the talent of prophecy." Lian Riqing said jokingly. She looked to a distance and saw that He Sizhao had already carried Jiang Chuyi to the passenger seat of a car. Her eyes darkened.

"Be careful." She turned her head and said.

Su Mo agreed with a smile.

Because they had to follow the route Jiang Chuyi mentioned, He Sizhao directly put her in the passenger seat. He drove himself, and Wu Yi and Su Mo sat in the back.

As soon as Su Mo got in the car, Jiang Chuyi's body stiffened subtly.

Her reaction was so obvious that several people noticed it and asked curiously, "Xiaoyi, are you afraid of rabbits?"

"If you are afraid of it, I will wait until the day comes before calling it out." Su Mo said.

"No need." Unexpectedly, Jiang Chuyi rejected the suggestion. She looked forward, not in the direction of the rabbit. "I'm not afraid of it."

Not afraid of it, but avoiding it so much?

Wuyi was as confused as a monk, but He Sizhao and Su Mo's expressions changed, and they obviously thought of something.

"Let's go first." He Sizhao changed the subject.

Under Jiang Chuyi's command, five vehicles began to move.

"Xiaoyi, why don't you tell us what we're going to do?" Wuyi leaned on the back of He Sizhao's chair and looked at Jiang Chuyi curiously, "What if there's danger and we don't have time to deal with it?"

"No danger." Jiang Chuyi said, thinking that there might be a few wandering zombies over there, he said, "Maybe there are a few. If you can't handle even that little bit, then don't live anymore."

Wu Yi: “Ah?”

"Nothing, no nothing. Haven't you realized what we are going to do? I really overestimated your IQ again." Su Mo sighed with a look of regret.

Wuyi suddenly exploded: "What are you talking about? So you know?"

"Xiaoxue told me everything." Seeing Wuyi's face full of "you cheated", Su Mo helplessly gestured to He Sizhao, "Brother Zhao must have guessed it too, why don't you ask him?"

"Boss." Wuyi looked over pitifully.

He Sizhao didn't answer him, but spoke to Jiang Chuyi: "Wuyi was taken away for training since he was a child and never went to school properly. Don't mind it."

Unintentional: ???

Why is everyone hurting him?

When Jiang Chuyi heard "she was taken away since childhood", his eyes moved. He was about to say something, but when he saw Wuyi's bitter face in the rearview mirror, he swallowed his words back.

……never mind.

In this way, they drove three kilometers to the east, then five kilometers to the south, and the view suddenly became clear.

“This…this is…”

The special forces members leaned out of the window and were speechless for a moment.

Not far away, at the foot of the hill, there is a gurgling natural river.

Although there were a few small groups of scattered zombies nearby, they were no problem for their firepower.

A river, a clean, flowing river of living water.

Everyone knows what this means to people in the end times.

Wuyi's eyes instantly lit up with admiration: "Xiaoyi, how did you know there is a living water river here?"

This is also what He Shizhao and Su Mo want to know.

Jiang Chuyi stirred her hair and said slowly, "I just know."

"Have you been here before?" Wuwu looked around. "Or did someone tell you?"

Jiang Chuyi was getting a little impatient. Since they were short of water, she had brought them here to find water. Why were they still asking all sorts of questions? Why not just go get it?

"That's what it told me." Jiang Chuyi turned his head away, not wanting to pay attention to the noisy loud speaker. "Believe it or not."

"he".

Who is "he"?

He Sizhao didn't say anything. He pursed his lips to hide the anger that came out involuntarily.

Who else could it be? It’s just those people who control Jiang Chuyi.

They chose to come here because they had received news that there was a branch base of Shouli Tea House nearby. Whether Jiang Chuyi had been here before or had heard them mention it by chance, it was not surprising.

He Sizhao quickly glanced at Jiang Chuyi out of the corner of his eye and saw that she was facing the window, stubbornly refusing to look back. He felt as if his heart was being hammered.

Knowing this information may be a painful burden for Jiang Chuyi, because thinking about everything related to those people makes her feel uncomfortable.

But in order to give them water to drink, she took the initiative to bring them here.

To her, this was like tearing open her scars so that they could profit.

"Go get some water."

Just when his heart was broken, Jiang Chuyi's voice came, and she glared at him unhappily.

"If it's gone, it's gone. Don't lie to me anymore."
