Chapter 49 Found (Part 2)

Several people quickly got out of the car to check and found several thumbtacks stuck in the tire.

The bottom of the thumbtack was transparent and placed in an inconspicuous position. Lu Qianzhi didn't see it and just rolled over it.

"They actually resorted to such tactics." Lu Qianzhi abandoned all talk of reason, his face flushing with anger. "If Major General He hadn't subdued them just now, we'd probably have more than just nails waiting for us now."

Su Mo looked around, walked to a piece of waste, and removed the scrap iron covering the top. When the group saw it, their faces instantly turned bad.

There were clearly several darts placed here, already positioned and ready to be fired at any moment.

He Sizhao also noticed something unusual. He came to a nearby tree and felt around behind the trunk. A large net filled with broken glass suddenly came down from above. If the people below had not reacted quickly, they would have been hung up and covered in injuries.

"What a sinister method!" Lu Qianzhi's expression changed. "How many passersby have they tricked like this?"

Su Mo bent down and touched the door, thinking, "These mechanisms are very ingeniously designed, and the weapons don't look like something an ordinary person could find. These people must be more than they appear."

The three of them looked at each other and said a name at the same time: "Tea House."

"No way." Lu Qianzhi touched his chin, "Can the people in the tea house be so miserable?"

"We can't miss any chance." He Sizhao was about to turn around when he angled back and came to the front of the car. "Xiaoyi, let's get out first. The tire is broken."

He held out his arms to her.

Jiang Chuyi responded lazily, reluctantly looking away from the novel, and let He Sizhao carry her out.

"Be good, Xiaoyi." He Sizhao patted her head. "Let's go take care of something first. You follow me closely. I'll carry you from behind."

Jiang Chuyi raised his eyes to look at him: "What did I say? You've suffered a great loss."

She showed no sign of fear at all. Instead, she had a proud and complacent expression that said, "I told you not to listen to me," which made He Sizhao curl his lips.

"Yes, I should have listened to you earlier."

He held Jiang Chuyi's hand, and when he turned around, his eyes became sharp.

"go back."

When they returned to the gas station, they found that the few people who were thought to be still groaning on the ground were nowhere to be found, leaving only a small pool of blood on the ground.

Su Mo walked over quickly, dipped a finger in some blood, and put it to his nose: "It's true that you are not infected with the zombie virus, but there is another unpleasant smell in it."

"The person has disappeared, what should we do now?" Cheng Yi was very angry. "If it really was those bastards, we shouldn't have let them go just now!"

"Su Mo." He Sizhao called out.

Su Mo responded and closed his eyes, as if he was communicating with something invisible.

This was the first time Jiang Chuyi saw him communicating with his summoned beast, and he stared at it with interest.

After a while, a snow-white lop-eared rabbit appeared in front of everyone, jumping and skipping.

"Xiaoxue!" Jiang Chuyi wanted to go over and pick up the rabbit, but He Sizhao pulled him back hard.

"Let Xiaoxue work first." He Sizhao said gently, "I'll let Xiaoxue play with you later."

Jiang Chuyi didn't want to pay attention to him, but seeing Xiaoxue's round eyes full of seriousness and pleading, he stopped his actions listlessly.

Xiaoxue's appearance aroused a lot of surprise. It was the first time they had seen this magical ability.

"Captain Lu, it seems there are many people with special abilities like you." Cheng Yi said with envy, "When will we have one too?"

"This is everyone's talent awakening. No one can predict when it will appear." Lu Qianzhi also learned about Su Mo's talent for the first time. He scratched his head, and a wisp of flame appeared on his fingertips. "This is my talent. It's good for fighting, but it's useless for finding someone."

As soon as Xiaoxue appeared, it began to circle around the pool of blood and started sniffing everywhere. It knew at a glance why Su Mo called it out.

Lu Qianzhi looked at He Sizhao and said, "Major General He, is your talent speed? I just saw the speed at which you attacked those people. It was terrifying."

He Sizhao did not comment, but just nodded.

Jiang Chuyi looked up at him.

She saw at least two talents in him: speed and strength.

As for that day when she watched him fighting with the second-level wind element in the base, she vaguely felt a subtle fluctuation on his body, but there was no third type of energy appearing at that time, so she was not sure what was going on.

This man seems to have a lot of secrets.

It was rare for Jiang Chuyi to feel curious about someone.

He Sizhao was really beyond her expectations. Whether it was his identity, ability, or his inexplicable misunderstanding of her, she clearly distinguished him from everyone she had known before and put him in a separate area to observe.

As for what she would observe, she didn't know.

At this time, Xiaoxue seemed to have found the direction and happily jumped around Su Mo's feet.

Su Mo squatted down and patted its head: "Thank you for your hard work. Lead the way."

"Follow us," He Sizhao said. "We don't know what we'll face. Everyone, prepare your weapons in advance and don't let your guard down."

"I know." Lu Qianzhi nodded. "Don't worry, although we are not from the military, we have been through so much training in the apocalypse, we will not be a drag."

He Sizhao nodded and picked up Jiang Chuyi by the waist.

Jiang Chuyi also habitually lay in his arms. Because of the size difference, this embrace was extra spacious for her. She even took out the novel she had not finished reading and continued reading.

The others were stunned when they saw this scene.

"Is this how Xiaoyi and Major General He get along?"

"Why does Major General He look like Xiaoyi's mount..."

"Shh! Stop talking nonsense!"

Jiang Chuyi raised his eyes to look at the resolute and beautiful chin as he heard scattered discussions. He deliberately asked, "He Sizhao, they said you were a mount."

There was a loud clapping sound from behind.

He Sizhao's expression didn't even change: "I can be. Okay, let's go."

He walked away nonchalantly, leaving everyone behind with a drop of jaw.

"Judging from what they said just now, they shouldn't live far from here." Su Mo said, "Otherwise they wouldn't have been staring at this convenience store for so long."

"Don't you find it strange?" Lu Qianzhi frowned. "There's only one zombie in there, and even an ordinary person could easily deal with it. But there are six of them, and they're just observing and haven't taken any action."

"We can only answer this question by finding them." He Sizhao's face was cold. Although he was holding someone, his steps were lighter than others. "Su Mo, tell Xiaoxue to be careful. There may be other traps nearby."

"I told it." Su Mo narrowed his eyes. "Don't worry, Xiaoxue is much smarter than humans."

The tone was gentle and affirmative, and Lu Qianzhi looked at her with horror.

Jiang Chuyi nodded seriously in He Shizhao's arms, which made everyone laugh and cry.

Suddenly, Su Mo stopped and gestured to stop: "Xiaoxue was found."

Jiang Chuyi felt herself being gently placed on the ground, and at the same time her hand was held again.

"I can't lose it." She couldn't help but say.

"I'm afraid you'll get hurt." He Sizhao had no intention of letting go. He took out a gun with his other hand and looked obviously alert.

Perhaps these people didn't expect to be found in their lair. After a simple search, they didn't find any obvious traps. They followed Xiaoxue all the way to a container truck.

"It's right here." After Su Mo confirmed it, he asked Xiaoxue to leave first, "Those people are inside."

"No wonder there are no traps. It turns out they can move at any time." Lu Qianzhi looked at the huge truck bed with a hint of envy in his tone, "It's really lucky to be able to get such a car in the apocalypse."

"After seeing how they act, don't you know where this car came from?" He Sizhao said coldly.

Lu Qianzhi made a few gestures behind him, and everyone surrounded the entire car.

Jiang Chuyi was pulled by He Sizhao and also moved over.

As soon as she got close, an indescribable unpleasant smell penetrated her nose, making her, who was not very sensitive, almost vomit.

Lu Qianzhi's face also turned green, while Su Mo and He Sizhao were better, they just frowned.

Not only is the container not very good at isolating smells, but its sound insulation is even worse, and they heard some noises coming out.

"Damn it, my luck is so bad that they actually found me!"

"If we hadn't been discovered, we might have succeeded by now!"

"It's so hard to meet so many people, but I didn't succeed. What a pity..."

They looked at each other and saw each other's solemnity and confusion.

Logically speaking, when a minority encounters a hostile majority, shouldn't their first reaction be to retreat and fear? Why are these people not only not afraid, but their final words are filled with a strong sense of pity?

"A bunch of idiots originally wanted to trick the woman over to avoid her being disfigured, but they failed."

The voice was obviously still angry. There was a sound of something falling and then a woman's scream.

"Stop... stop kicking..." The woman didn't show any of the ferocity she had shown when she looked at Jiang Chuyi. She burst into tears. "I, I'm still useful. Please give me a few more days..."

"Pfft." Someone spat. "How dare you call yourself a woman? Look at other women, and then look at your disgusting body. It's so filthy that even a grandfather can't bring himself to eat it."

Lu Qianzhi couldn't bear to listen any longer. Without even checking He Sizhao's intentions, he shouted angrily, "Go!"

In an instant, with several gunshots, an entire side of the container was hit and fell off.

As the situation inside was completely exposed, the stench became even stronger and Jiang Chuyi's face turned pale.

She has never suffered such injustice since she met He Sizhao!

But she didn't have time to lose her temper, and like everyone else, her attention was drawn to the situation inside.

There were five men standing or sitting, looking at them in astonishment, while the only woman was huddled against the wall, hugging herself tightly.

In the middle of them, a pot was bubbling with something, and the foul smell came from here.

Jiang Chuyi covered his nose as a question popped into his mind.

Is this for human consumption?

The author has something to say:
