Chapter 30 Blind Date

The old man sobbed, "What do you mean no one wants them? It's just that they look down on those scheming, self-righteous women."

"Hehe, well, you should focus on getting better first. Once you're fully recovered, I'll introduce you to someone!"

The shrill phone rang again. "Answer it now!" Jian Mujin kicked the blanket anxiously with her right leg.

Having no other choice, Long Tingwei rubbed his eyes and took the phone from her.

A harsh voice rang out, "Egg, are you sure you want to find a blind date? If so, I have someone in mind right now. I'll bring him to you another day, how about that?"

"Hmm, what's he like? Is he good-looking? Is he rich? Oh, I mean it doesn't matter if he's not good-looking or rich, the key is whether he'd even be interested in me."

"Hmm, he's a good person. You'll see when you meet him!" After slamming down the phone, Jian Mujin finally smiled contentedly, as if she had accomplished something of great importance.

"Jin'er, please look back at me, okay? Try giving me another chance to get to know me, okay? Don't rush into blind dates. From now on, I'll do whatever you ask. I'm not the kind of man who can't distinguish right from wrong and only resorts to violence. I also have a soft side, and you'll feel it if you try to understand me..."

Long Tingwei didn't dare to touch Jian Mujin too much, afraid of hurting her again. He just rushed over and wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing his handsome face tightly against hers.

Jian Mujin struggled, "No, I don't want to..."

Long Tingwei's tears welled up and soaked Jian Mujin's neck. Jian Mujin had never seen him cry like a child before, and she gave him a disgusted look.

"What can I do to make you forgive me..." Long Tingwei didn't want to let go. He had never shown her his softest and most patient side before. Now he was exposing his vulnerable side to her, hoping that she would pity him and not leave him alone.

Jian Mujin didn't pity him at all; who was more pitiful than her?

"Don't hang around me all the time. Just hire someone to take care of me. If you feel guilty, you can find me a boyfriend..."

She would rather have someone else than her. Did I hurt her too deeply?

Long Tingwei gently released her. "I'll take care of you while you're in the hospital! I'm the one who hurt you, so I'll take good care of you until you're discharged!"

Long Tingwei's insistence infuriated Jian Mujin. She shrank into the blankets, turned her back to Long Tingwei, and muttered, "Men and women should not touch each other!"

He really wanted to say that they were now husband and wife, but Jin'er would probably be very annoyed by him saying that.

Long Tingwei peeked her head out and found that her eyes were closed. He didn't disturb her anymore, but just tucked the blanket in.

He also wanted to lean down and kiss her, but he was afraid that Jin'er would be annoyed, so he held back his tears and did not continue.

The old man couldn't bear to watch any longer and pulled him out. "What are you crying for, you grown man? Now that you've put her in the hospital, it's normal for her to be emotional and complain about you. When you're with her, do you lose your rationality? Are you just filled with guilt?"

She's about to start looking for a boyfriend. Do you have any ideas?

Upon hearing the word "partner," Long Tingwei felt like punching a wall. "Find someone to stop him from meeting, or beat that guy up and scare him a bit. He probably won't compete with me then!"

"Foolish! Do you think this can be kept secret? If Dan'er finds out, he'll hate you even more!"

"I don't want her to hate me, and I don't want her to leave me, Grandpa. I really love her. Please help me, okay?"

Long Tingwei gripped the old man tightly, almost kneeling on the ground.

The old man also felt sorry for his grandson, "Stop crying. Someone is introducing her to someone, and you act like this... Dan'er is anxious to get married. If no one wants her, she'll reconsider you!"

Long Tingwei felt wronged. He was clearly better than others in every way, so why should he be at the bottom? They only considered him when they couldn't find anyone else. The thought of her having to go on blind dates with countless men made his heart ache.

He couldn't make any overt moves, because if Dan'er found out he was up to no good, their relationship would become increasingly complicated.

Long Tingwei nodded with a complicated expression.

Now he has handed over all his work to the old man, and he spends all his time with Jian Mujin. When he is with her, he only has a smile on his face and is gentle. He tries his best to fulfill any request she makes.

A few days later, Ci Er called to say that the person was free that day and that Jian Mujin should be prepared.

From the moment Jian Mujin received the call, her heart began to flutter.

She asked Long Tingwei, "Hey, do you have any pretty clothes? It would be best if you could do my makeup, and make sure the scar on my neck isn't showing..."

Jian Mujin completely forgot that she and Long Tingwei were not yet divorced, and continued talking incessantly.

Heaven knows how much grievance and patience Long Tingwei had to endure to listen to Jian Mujin's words.

He took a deep breath, a stiff smile on his face, and suggested to her, "You're still sick right now, and if you wear makeup while you're sick, people will think... well, that's not good. Your complexion is fine right now, you don't need makeup at all. I can help you cover up the scar on your neck!"

Jian Mujin thought it made sense, but then suddenly remembered something and asked Long Tingwei to call Ci Er.

"You didn't tell him I was married, did you? Actually, it wasn't really a marriage, anyway, nobody knows for sure... If you didn't tell him, then don't tell him, and don't tell him about me... umm, you know what I mean, I won't say anything more!"

Long Tingwei swallowed hard. She wouldn't acknowledge their marriage? Yes, he hadn't acknowledged it before, so of course she wouldn't now. What could he do?

"Let me comb your hair..."

"Hmm, do you know how to comb hair?" Jian Mujin leaned closer. "Don't tell anyone about us later. We're divorced. If you don't want me to dislike you, don't ruin my blind date!"

Long Tingwei lowered his head and gave a heavy "hmm" sound, which satisfied Jian Mujin.

He took a moment to call his grandfather, worried that he might not be able to resist beating up the man. With his grandfather there, he might be able to hold back.

The man finally arrived, dressed in a suit and tie. Jian Mujin lay excitedly on the bed with her cast on, but then realized she needed to be more reserved to be noticed, so she pretended to be rather quiet.

The man looked quite ordinary, with acne scars on his face. However, his demeanor was poised and refined.

He greeted Jian Mujin as soon as he arrived. "Hello, my name is Luo Kuo. You must be Dan'er, the friend of Ci Er. It's nice to meet you!"

Jian Mujin was extremely satisfied, while Long Tingwei was so angry that his fists clenched so tightly they cracked.

"Hello, what's your name, Luo? Camel, that's a very nice name."

"Uh, not camel, it's 'kuo,' like the 'kuo' in 'vast sky and sea'!"

"Oh, my name is Jian Mujin, you can just call me Dan'er, that's what everyone calls me in our area. Aren't you busy today?"

Jian Mujin got excited and became quite smug, her eyebrows dancing with excitement as she looked at him with great interest.
