Chapter 35 Starry Sky Watch

Long Tingwei gave a slight smile. The watch was specially made by him, with her name engraved on it, along with a line of words of confession.

May I be like a star and you like the moon, shining brightly together every night!

Unfortunately, Jian Mujin couldn't understand it!

There were only the three of them at this meal. Long Tingwei sat next to Jian Mujin, glancing at her from time to time and serving her food. He suddenly thought, how wonderful it would be if we could live like this from now on!

Jian Mujin did indeed have a great appetite, and after she finished eating, Long Tingwei gently wiped her mouth with a tissue.

Looking at those delicious cherry lips, Long Tingwei's expression wavered for a moment, and he really wanted to press his lips against them and kiss them.

Jian Mujin quietly left him, nestled on the sofa, turned on the TV to watch cartoons, and occasionally let out a giggle or two.

Jian Mujin didn't leave, and neither did Long Tingwei. He washed some fruit and put it on the coffee table, peeled grapes for her, and even carefully picked out the seeds.

Grandpa Long originally wanted to give the two young people some private space, but Jian Mujin would come over and glance at him from time to time.

The old man made a bet that if he got up, Jian Mujin would immediately say goodbye and go home. Having no other choice, for his grandson's sake, he had to sit there and watch cartoons with Jian Mujin.

Having had her fill of fun and food, Jian Mujin dusted herself off and went home.

Long Tingwei offered to drive her, but Jian Mujin refused, saying she wanted to ride in the old man's car.

"Why?" Long Tingwei asked sadly. She didn't mind his gifts, and she was even willing to let him serve her, so why couldn't she ride in his car?

Jian Mujin didn't think much of it. As soon as he mentioned it, she immediately grabbed the old man and complained, "Last time on my birthday, he kicked me out of the car. My hand is all scraped up. It was so infuriating!"

Long Tingwei knew that he had indeed kicked quite hard, and the more resolute he was then, the more his heart ached now.

He took Jian Mujin's hand and looked at it. There were indeed still scars. He gently stroked them and asked her, "Does it still hurt? Let me put some medicine on it for you!"

"No, old man, you have to teach your grandson a lesson. If I can't afford to offend him, can't I at least avoid him?"

Jian Mujin pulled the old man in front of her to block him.

Looking at his grandson's hurt eyes, the old man sighed helplessly. What had he said? He had told him long ago to cherish what he had and not to regret it later. Now look what happened, he had to go through all this.

The old man gave Long Tingwei a good scolding in front of Jian Mujin, which made Jian Mujin feel a little better.

Even after being scolded by the old man, Long Tingwei still took the medicine to Jian Mujin and applied it to her.

"This medicine works really well for removing scars, let me apply it for you!"

Jian Mujin glanced at the old man, awkwardly stretched out her hand, and muttered, "Don't you dare take the opportunity to get revenge on me. Why are you allowed to bully me?"

"No, I will never bully you again!" Long Tingwei gently cleaned Jian Mujin's arm with disinfectant and then applied medicine with cotton swabs.

"Of course you'd say that in front of the old man, you're afraid of getting a beating!"

Long Tingwei looked up and smiled at her flailing face. "I won't bully you even when you're not with Grandpa. I'm not afraid of getting beaten up, I'm afraid of losing you!"

Jian Mujin shook off the goosebumps on her body and pulled her arm back. "I want Uncle Ming to take me!"

Long Tingwei insisted, "I'll go with you!"

On the way, Long Tingwei tried to talk to Jian Mujin several times, but Jian Mujin kept her head pressed against the car window, pretending not to hear or see.

Long Tingwei wasn't in a hurry. When they arrived at their destination, he got out of the car first and opened the door for Jian Mujin, carefully protecting her head.

Jian Mujin glanced at him disdainfully, didn't watch where she was going, and fell flat on her face when she went down.

Uncle Ming covered his mouth and laughed. So many socialites and beauties in the city had been waiting for Young Master Long until their flowers withered and yellowed. He never expected that the young master would fall for such a quirky little woman.

Long Tingwei rushed forward in alarm, picked her up, and checked her injuries. "How are you? Are you alright?"

"You're just gloating!"

Jian Mujin didn't appreciate it at all, firmly believing that Long Tingwei was laughing at her, so she pushed him away and ran away.

When Long Tingwei caught up, Jian Mujin closed the door from the inside.

No matter how much Long Tingwei knocked on the door, Jian Mujin wouldn't open it. Having no other option, Long Tingwei had to come downstairs.

Looking at his dejected face, Uncle Ming gave him a suggestion, "Today, when you were beating that man, Miss Jian offered to save him, saying that playing the hero would make him change his mind. If it doesn't cost much, sir, why don't you give it a try?"

Long Tingwei sat in the back seat, rubbing his temples wearily. The expensive watch on his wrist gleamed brightly in the sunlight.

After a long silence, he said sadly, "What's so good about that man? Why did I have to fall for him? He doesn't love Dan'er at all..."

Uncle Ming explained, "Young people sometimes like to act out of spite. Miss Jian was just saying it casually. After that man left, didn't she just sit there obediently without chasing after him?"

"Uncle Ming, do you think I still have a chance?" Long Tingwei thought to himself. He didn't want to use such a domineering approach to forcefully keep Jian Mujin. If there really was no chance, he wouldn't give up. Even if it made her hate him, he would still keep her by his side.

"There's still a chance. Miss Jian has a rather simple and easygoing personality; she's not one to hold grudges. If you treat her well, you'll definitely be able to win her back!"

Long Tingwei was seriously considering Uncle Ming's words. Before Dan'er truly accepted him, his heart was in agony every moment, especially when he heard her say in a fit of pique how cruel he had been to her.

Should we actually devise a plan to quickly change Dan'er's opinion of us?

As soon as the old man's birthday was over, he immediately waved his hand at Long Tingwei, "You better let an old man like me have some peace and quiet. I've been forced to keep Long's business running for months. If I keep sitting here any longer, people will think you don't want to work here anymore!"

Long Tingwei walked over ingratiatingly, taking his grandfather's hand. "Grandpa, other people my age already have children in school. Do you really want me to work at a time like this? Giving others a chance? Dan'er hasn't stopped causing trouble for a moment!"

Old Master Long was so angry he was practically spitting fire. "Give others a chance? That's your own doing, you can't blame anyone else. You're the president of Long Corporation, I've already stepped down, I'm not going to let you review and sign documents every day!"

Long Tingwei was about to vomit blood. "Grandpa, you don't need to work so hard. Just sit there. Even if we lose tens of billions, our Long family can afford it. But if your granddaughter-in-law runs away, where will you find her?"

"As long as I win her back, I promise I'll return to the Long family immediately. With my abilities, I can earn back what I lost in less than two months!"

The old man thought it made sense, so there was no further dispute.
