"Ugh? What's that smell? It's disgusting..."
I didn't smell anything when I first opened the door, but after standing at the door for a few seconds...
A pungent, rotten smell wafted towards us.
Ling Xiran, Chu Sheng, and the three children couldn't help but take two steps back.
Feng Ling's eyes were cold as she formed a hand seal with one hand. With a thought, she activated the spiritual power within her body.
Pfft~
A flame rose in his palm.
The light from the flames illuminated the room, which reeked of a foul stench.
The ground was covered with dried, cracked blood, and several incomplete, rotting corpses lay beneath the wall.
On the wall behind the corpse, there were mottled bloodstains.
Bloodstains ran down the wall, creating a sinister and terrifying sight.
Ling Chusheng put on the mask of pain and couldn't help but gag.
Xi Ran screamed and quickly squatted down to hug all three children.
"Don't look! Don't look!"
That's how this town is; new people are brought in every now and then, but there are only so many houses.
Thus began this drama of fighting amongst themselves for territory.
This is just one part of the experiment.
"Let them see..."
The sound of the wind chimes was somewhat low and somber.
Xi Ran was stunned for a moment, somewhat puzzled.
"If you want them to live, let them see."
He knew that these three children had definitely seen this kind of scene many times before.
While they lived in the hut, other criminals would inevitably come knocking on the door and trying to take over their territory.
Their father must have killed someone right in front of them.
Although Xi Ran didn't understand, she still listened to Feng Ling's words and let go of them.
The three children were trembling with fear, their legs shaking.
No matter how much they've seen, they're still just children.
"What the hell do you want?"
The person on the bed pulled out a large knife from under his pillow, its blade gleaming brightly.
He jumped off the bed angrily.
"Die!"
With a loud shout, he charged towards Fengling and the others, brandishing his knife.
"Ahh!"
Seeing the man rushing over, the three children, who hadn't dared to make a sound before, screamed and immediately threw themselves into Xi Ran's arms.
Feng Ling clenched her fist, extinguishing the flame in her palm, and the room went dark again.
The person transformed into a large black shadow, like a ghost, and swiftly attacked the wind chimes.
In the darkness, only when the moonlight shone on the broadsword could one see a fleeting, cold glint.
In the darkness, a golden light shone in the wind chime's eyes.
He stepped forward, facing the cold glint of light without flinching or dodging.
He raised his hand and said softly:
"Power Shield".
Ping Pong —
A golden light suddenly appeared inside the room, and a palm-sized shield appeared in Fengling's palm.
The broadsword struck it, but could not advance an inch.
But the criminal couldn't see the shield; in his eyes, the wind chime was catching a blade with its bare hands.
He was so startled that he stared blankly at the wind chimes in front of him.
He saw anger in Fengling's eyes, anger that seemed even greater than his own...
Suddenly, Feng Ling crouched down, and the criminal instinctively tried to back away.
But how could he possibly dodge the wind chime's speed?
Before he could react, a punch had already landed squarely on his stomach.
Without using any spiritual magic, he felt as if his stomach was about to be pierced through!
Before he could even cry out in pain, Fengling had already stomped him to the ground.
With one kick, he shattered his wrist!
Ping Pong —
The knife clattered to the ground, accompanied by the criminal's piercing scream.
Ahh—
"Who, who are you?!"
He convulsed and roared wildly over the dried blood.
"What are you trying to do? I didn't kill these people! I'm innocent!"
Feng Ling slowly squatted down and sneered:
"Innocent? What an innocent murderer..."
"Then what about me..."
He thought for a moment, then grinned:
"Then just consider me a passing executioner?"
He squatted in front of the criminal, backlit, so the criminal couldn't see the smile on his face.
But I felt a chill running through my bones!
The wind chimes' indistinct smile was colder than the icy ground!
"It really wasn't me! Please, don't kill me, what are you trying to do... I beg you! Spare me!"
Seeing the criminal beg for mercy, Fengling merely curled her lip and said indifferently:
"Me? I've come to send your filthy soul to make a contribution to this world. You're welcome."
Having said that, he raised his hand and slapped a large bag across his face.
They slapped his lip raw and broke his teeth.
The slap made his eyes roll back and he fainted.
Then Fengling grabbed his collar and lifted him off the ground.
She carried him slowly toward the bewildered crowd at the door.
"Wind chimes? You?"
Chu Sheng looked at Feng Ling with a puzzled expression. Feng Ling simply tossed the unconscious criminal in front of Chu Sheng and said with a smile:
"Take him with you, we're going to the next place."
That night, everyone else was out hunting monsters.
As for wind chimes, they would go door to door and kick them down.
Without saying a word, he rushed in, beat the people inside, knocked them unconscious, and took them away!
The third house had many instruments of torture hanging on the wall: small whips, chains, and other strange things.
The wind chimes were used to tie up those people, so they made the best use of them.
At this moment, the heads of the Ruo family, witnessing this scene, couldn't help but wonder:
"What's this kid up to?"
