Feng Ling turned to look at Chu Sheng and nodded casually.
"Not bad... huh?"
He sensed something was wrong and looked up at Ruo Qingyan with a puzzled expression.
He quickly said:
"Tsk! I don't think it looks good, it's lacking, um, right..."
Ruo Qing's face remained expressionless, and she did not speak.
Feng Ling suddenly felt a little embarrassed.
At this moment, Chu Sheng coughed.
Ruo Qingyan saw that he was about to wake up, and left without saying goodbye.
When Chu Sheng woke up, he saw Feng Ling beside him. He was first taken aback, then delighted, but suddenly felt a little panicked.
"I survived? What about the captain and the others?!"
"Don't worry, they're all alive."
"That's great! Who saved them?"
Wind Chime rolled her eyes and raised her arm, which was in a cast:
"Without me, you'd be on your way to the Western Paradise. Now kneel down and call me 'Father'."
"Zhao! It's you! Hahaha!"
Chu Sheng suddenly burst into laughter.
Just as the two were about to say something, another series of hurried footsteps came from outside.
A man with a gloomy face arrived at the door of Chu Sheng's room.
Chu Sheng saw him and said happily:
"Brother Lei! You're all better! That's wonderful!"
Yang Lei, Cangya Mission Team, Fourth-Order Grand Spirit Master.
Yang Lei looked at Chu Sheng, his eyes filled with anger.
He strode over to his bedside and grabbed him by the collar:
"What the hell are you doing?"
Tell me! What the hell are you doing?!
He roared angrily, his eyes bloodshot, filled with extreme rage!
Chu Sheng's smile vanished, and he was about to ask him what was wrong.
Bang--
Yang Lei was sent flying by a single punch from Feng Ling!
He stood up with a cold face, frowning as he said:
"What the hell are you doing now?"
Yang Lei clutched his chest, his expression still one of anger.
But when she looked at the wind chimes, she noticed the wounds on his body and his right arm in a cast.
He could only grit his teeth and say:
"Commander Fengling, you are my benefactor... I am so grateful to you, truly grateful, grateful that you saved us all..."
"But...Chu Sheng..."
He stood up, leaning against the wall, and said through gritted teeth:
"The investigation results for this mission are in. Do you know why we encountered a sixth-tier demon?"
Chu Sheng, upon hearing this, said with some uncertainty:
"The intelligence was wrong?"
"The intelligence was wrong? The intelligence was correct!"
He roared:
"You're the one who led us to chase the wrong person!"
“He led us all the way from West City to North Valley.”
"When we asked you if you had chased the wrong person, what did you say? You swore to us that you hadn't!"
!!
Chu Sheng was stunned.
Did I chase after the wrong person?
"The captain is still in the emergency room, but he's temporarily out of danger."
"His legs below the waist! Whether they can recover is now a question."
"I just want to ask you, what the hell are you doing all day long?!"
"You almost killed us all!"
"We trusted you so much, and this is how you repay us?!"
"How does the captain usually treat you? How do you treat him? Huh? Speak up!"
"say!"
Yang Lei became increasingly angry as he spoke, almost roaring!
A glint of tears welled up in her bloodshot eyes.
Chu Sheng stared blankly at the furious Yang Lei, his mind going completely blank.
Yang Lei's words, one by one, were like knives stabbing into his heart.
His mouth was slightly open, but he couldn't utter a word.
The captain's painful screams and his broken back flashed through my mind.
Is it because of me?
It was my fault...
Suddenly, tears welled up in my eyes:
"I..."
"I..."
He gritted his teeth, his hands involuntarily gripping the blanket tightly.
My hands were trembling slightly.
"Yes, I'm sorry..."
Tears, against my will, streamed from my eyes, down my cheeks, and onto the blanket, making a soft, pattering sound.
"sorry..."
"Does saying sorry do any good?"
"Go talk to the captain, go talk to his legs!"
After saying that, Yang Lei glared at Chu Sheng, his expression one of great pain.
Chu Sheng opened his mouth, but it felt like a fishbone was stuck in his throat.
Unable to speak, she could only bite her lip tightly and silently shed tears.
His fists were clenched, and his whole body was trembling.
Regret, remorse, pain...
It's all because of me!
If only I could be a little more careful...
Those were his tears of regret.
Fengling watched all of this in silence.
At that moment, two spiritual masters dressed in long robes walked in.
Both men held documents in their hands, their expressions equally cold.
Feng Ling's eyes narrowed, and she frowned as she said:
What are you doing?
The two people glanced at the wind chime but ignored him.
Instead, he went to Chu Sheng's bedside and said coldly:
"Law enforcement suspects Chu Sheng of colluding with demons and needs to conduct an investigation. All bystanders, please leave this area."
Upon hearing this, Chu Sheng raised his head, his expression still pained, as if he couldn't breathe, and tears were still flowing.
He opened his mouth, but couldn't speak because of sobbing.
Feng Ling's eyes were somewhat unfriendly as she said:
"Tongyao?"
One of the law enforcement officers turned and glanced at the wind chimes:
"All irrelevant persons, get out."
Fengling frowned slightly, wanting to speak again.
Chu Sheng took a deep breath and sobbed:
"Wind Chime, it's alright, you can go out first."
She wiped away her tears as she spoke:
