Chapter 25

Chapter 25

When the night is dark and windy, everything is silent.

Wang Sheng was sleeping soundly on the table, with saliva hanging from his lips. His father-in-law was also sleeping on top of his head. The small one was emitting heat and was quite comfortable.

Someone pushed him awake, "Mr. Wang, it's time to get up."

"Ah?" Wang Sheng sat up and wiped his saliva, still not quite awake. "Is it time?"

Suddenly he felt a sharp pain at his fingertips. He quickly put his fingers in his mouth and held them there, and he became much more awake.

Shi Ye also stabbed himself, dripped the blood of the two people onto a piece of talisman paper, and then put his knife back. Wang Sheng was sleeping soundly and had no idea when this person took his knife.

The candlelight in the room was dim. Shi Ye was holding a talisman paper, revealing a smooth arm with deep eyebrows and eyes. "The gong sounds at midnight, and hundreds of ghosts are marching."

The moment Wang Sheng blinked, he felt a severe dizziness in front of his eyes, and his whole body felt like falling, as if he was in an endless abyss that would never end.

When he was about to lose himself, a steady force grabbed him in time, and then Wang Sheng realized that he was standing on solid ground.

Inside the house, my father-in-law, who was sleeping soundly, suddenly fell onto a stool with a thud.

.

It was very cold, not the physical cold, but the kind of cold that seemed to reach straight into the soul, a cold that could not be avoided no matter how hard you tried to hide.

There is a road in front of me, which can be said to be the road where thousands of troops march. It is dark above my head, with no sunlight and no moonlight. People here are as small as smoke, like a drop of water in the vast ocean, or a handful of soil among thousands of mountains.

Wang Sheng let out a long breath, his heart beating fast. A cloak was put on him, and he suddenly no longer felt the strange coldness.

At his side, Shi Ye put on the hood of his gray-black cloak, making him look even more unfathomable. "Put on the hood, otherwise our identities will be discovered."

After Wang Sheng put on his hat, a cold wind blew towards them, making the corners of their clothes rustle, but their cloaks were still stable and could not be blown away.

"here it is......"

Countless souls drifted across the road, rushing to and fro. No one stopped for them, and no one knew where they were going. Their faces were unclear. Wang Sheng slowly extended his hand, able to penetrate these souls directly.

He lowered his hood a little, "The underworld, the eighteen kinds of hell."

This is actually the underworld. He thought such places only existed in novels. Wang Sheng suddenly realized that after putting on this cloak, he could look directly at these things. He touched the cloak, still wondering what kind of fabric it was.

"This will only be useful to you in the underworld. Let's go."

They walked for a long time, and Wang Sheng couldn't remember the time. Their long cloaks dragged on the ground, and they looked like two ghosts.

Until he stopped in front of a shop with a sign that said "Wanxiang Cave". Wang Sheng took a look at the sign. The three characters "Wanxiang Cave" were written in a pattern of dancing dragons, phoenixes and snakes, and he could hardly tell what it was.

They walked in and found that this Cave of All Things was extremely large. In addition to souls, there were all kinds of strange and bizarre creatures inside.

A creature, over ten feet tall, with exposed parts resembling stone, passed by Wang Sheng and his companions. Its large, rugged face lowered its gaze and snorted heavily, "This stinks! Where did this living being come from?"

Wang Sheng quickly moved out of the way. If this big guy had hit him, he would have been the first to be covered in blood.

Suddenly, countless gazes were cast towards them from inside the Wanxiang Cave, some with curiosity, some with disgust, and some with greed.

Shi Ye's expression remained normal. Most of the underworld didn't particularly like the living; after all, no one could develop a fondness for food. The living were cunning and treacherous, skilled at manipulation. Furthermore, the underworld had strict rules prohibiting the killing of the living, leaving many beings feeling suffocated.

He walked in, found the cashier's counter, and placed the sealed letter on it.

A rat-like figure was leaning back in a chair, his feet propped up on the counter, trimming his long nails. He said casually, "Wanxiang Cave does things by barter, and there are twice as many people as there are people."

"Yuntai Mountain is a place of time."

The mouse's chair flipped over with a clang. It quickly got up from the ground, smiled, nodded, and took the envelope. "It turns out to be Master Shi. I haven't seen you for a long time. Where did you go to make a fortune?"

Damn, why is it this killer god!

Shi was already accustomed to these people flattering him, so he said, "By the way, I have a message. Send it to me as soon as possible. I'm in Fangjia Village, fifty miles north of Zhong County."

"Okay, okay, I'll send someone to deliver the message right away. Please wait a moment."

The mouse held the letter respectfully in both hands, changed back to its original form and ran away to the back of the Cave of All Things.

Wang Sheng marveled at the splendor of the Wanxiang Cave, its priceless treasures laid out so openly. It dazzled him and made him want to get his hands on some. But since they dared to leave it like that, it meant they weren't afraid of theft. Wang Sheng swallowed his saliva cautiously.

"What do I smell? It's the scent of a living person. I haven't seen a living person in so many years. I really miss the human flesh I ate hundreds of years ago."

"You're such a fool! You've been to hell and you're still thinking about eating human flesh. Why haven't I tortured you to death?"

"Let me eat human flesh, even if it means going to purgatory again, I'm willing..."

There was a buzzing sound like a mosquito around, and Wang Sheng rubbed his ears.

A creature as wide as three men ran over, shaking the dust off Wang Sheng's feet to his ankles. "Where's that living person? I'm going to beat him to death with a stick!"

"Why is it him again? He goes crazy and looks for fights every day. Why hasn't the underworld kidnapped him?"

"His crimes weren't serious enough to send him to Purgatory, and even after he was released, he still started fighting. The ghost messengers are fed up with him."

"Then I think if I kill this living person this time, he will definitely not fight again in the future."

When Wang Sheng saw the creature running towards him with a stick in hand, he was so scared that he ran away everywhere. However, there were too many creatures in the Wanxiang Cave. Not only could he not run, but even the big guy could not catch up with him. He swept a group of creatures behind him, and screams were everywhere.

Wang Sheng finally managed to escape the pursuit by turning into a corridor, but this attracted many new eyes. He tightened his cloak and chased after Shi Ye. This place was simply not a place for people to stay. He had to find Shi Ye quickly.

He was walking with his head down when he suddenly bumped into a creature head-on. The creature cried out in pain and sat down weakly on the ground, apparently having been hit hard.

Wang Sheng looked up and saw that the other person looked a bit cunning and looked very similar to a human. Wang Sheng snorted, he was actually deceived by a ghost.

"Ouch, it hurts so much! Hurry up and pull me up! You have no eyes." Things were dropped all over the ground around this man, and he couldn't pick them up. He watched them being stolen by some unknown creature.

He stood up in a rage and shouted at Wang Sheng, "You have to pay me back, do you hear me?"

Wang Sheng was dumbfounded. Even if he had knocked it over, he hadn't stolen it, so why should he pay for it? It was so unreasonable. "I didn't steal it, so whoever stole it should go after it. Besides, those things of yours look like a pile of junk."

When this person heard Wang Sheng actually say that his things were all broken, he had to have a good talk with him.

"Do you know what's good? Do you know that I can let Wanxiang Cave do ten things for me for one thing? Have you heard of the reputation of Shen the Prophet? That's me."

Shi Ye walked back, but didn't find Wang Sheng there. He frowned. This man dared to run around even in the underworld. He stretched out his hand, and the hair searched out, leading him to Wang Sheng's side. Seeing many living beings surrounding him, Shi Ye threw out a wind talisman, "Xun Qi hole open, disperse."

All the creatures blocking the way were pushed to both sides. Shi Ye stepped forward, stood beside Wang Sheng, and exchanged glances with the man opposite him. A living person?

Wang Sheng felt a familiar air pressure around him, and he knew it was Shi Ye who came over. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you for a long time."

"Send a letter."

Shen Xianzhi glanced at Shiye with a sly look, and knew that he was the one who could make the decision, so he opened his mouth and said, "He can't afford to compensate for what I lost, so you pay for him."

Under the hood, thin lips opened slightly: "A coin hanging from your waist, four fingers on your left hand, are you Prophet Shen?"

Huh? This person actually knew him. Shen Xianzhi looked at Shi Ye's face for a long time but couldn't figure out who he was. "Are you a ghost hunter? Who is your master?" Not many people know him, they are all ghost hunters.

It was really him. Shi also thought about it. This Shen Zhizhi was as his name suggested. He was an expert in fortune-telling and had countless ghost-catching weapons and means of escape. There was once a ghost hunter who chased Shen Zhizhi for a whole year in order to kill people and steal treasures but failed to catch him.

Wang Sheng saw Shi Ye and knew this man. He seemed to be quite important, so he asked Shi Ye, "Is he running away? He seems to have lost a lot of things, and I don't have the money to compensate him."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shi said, "I'll compensate you with a Thousand-Faced Ghost Grass. How about that?"

Thousand-Faced Ghost Grass! Shen Zhizhi's eyes lit up. Who on earth was this person? He even had Thousand-Faced Ghost Grass. He readily agreed: "Then it's a deal. If you lie to me about a Thousand-Faced Ghost Grass, since you know me, you should also know that I will always take revenge."

When Wang Sheng got closer, he said with a pained look on his face, "If you have good stuff, you might as well give it to me. What he threw away is just a pile of junk."

"No problem, I can have as much of that stuff as I want. If you want it, I'll give it to you later."

After being comforted, Wang Sheng instantly lost his temper, looked left and right, as if he had never said those words.

Shi Ye said to Shen Xianzhi: "You can come here and get it one day later, but do you know how to deal with half-life people?"

After getting the benefit, Shen Xianzhi stopped acting and touched his chin. "It's strange that you encountered such a ghost, but you asked the right person." He rummaged through his pockets. Maybe there were too many things, and he couldn't find it for a while. He even got angry while searching, so he found something and gave it to Shi Ye.

Wang Sheng took a look and saw it was a small gourd bottle. Prophet Shen said, "It contains Meng Po soup. This half-living person is a symbiotic relationship between a human and a ghost. If you give the half-living person the Meng Po soup in this gourd, it will be enough to severely damage the ghost and separate the human and ghost."

Wang Sheng: "Oh, Meng Po soup? If I drink this Meng Po soup, will I be able to reincarnate?"

Shen Zhizhi showed an expression of watching a good show and said: "You can try it. If a living person drinks Mengpo soup before he dies, he won't even have the chance to reincarnate. After death, he will be directly sent to purgatory and unable to get out."

So cruel? Forget it.

The work was done, and he unexpectedly got the Meng Po soup. He put away the gourd and turned around to leave the underworld.

Prophet Shen stopped them and said, "The Thousand-Faced Ghost Grass is rare, and the Mengpo Soup is not a rare thing either. I won't take advantage of you. How about giving you a human face?"

Shi Ye paused, he turned and looked at Shen Zhizhi, "Human face?"
