Bone Blade
The sirens of Paradise spread across the sky, and Oswald lay tense under his blanket.
Something happened!
Something big happened again!
Although Osvid had never experienced a Zerg invasion, the explanations and documentaries he saw at the Zerg Museum last time were still vivid in his mind.
Although the Zerg look similar to humans, they are full of murderous beasts in their bones. It can be said that they are the same as humans whose mental power is out of control. However, those humans will choose to end their lives when they are clear-headed and not harm their compatriots.
But the Zerg are different. They are not the same species as humans.
There is no mercy, no empathy, they are here to occupy human territory and eliminate humans.
"Help! Save my daughter!"
A shrill cry for help was heard, along with other cries for help and curses from the surrounding area. Only a small number of people were able to call the Imperial Star Police relatively calmly.
Osvid was about to lift the blanket and heavy coat from his head and get out when he felt a force pressing him down.
Mr. Bai said in a deep voice, "Don't come out. It's dangerous."
Then, he felt that his entire dragon was suspended in the air, and then was stuffed into somewhere, unable to move.
In it, Osvid cried out, "Ouch!"
—Grandpa? Where have you been? Let me out!
He could smell the distinct smell of blood in the air, the odor that faded after his grandfather left, and the strong fragrance.
Mr. Bai did not respond to Osvid's words. He was moving his wheelchair to a hidden place to use as a shelter, and then urged his mental power to attack the two Zerg fugitives not far away.
The attacked mother and daughter fell in a pool of blood. The little girl was protected by her mother. She was terrified looking at the blood on the ground. The warmth seemed to spread to her body.
"Mom...Mom..." After seeing her mother forcefully smile at her, she broke down and cried out, "There's so much blood..."
The woman was trembling all over, and she comforted him, "Don't cry! Mom is fine..."
The taller Zerg was waving his bone blade to prevent others from approaching. The staff could only anxiously try to reason with the Zerg and delay time to wait for the arrival of the Star Police.
But soon, one of the staff members standing near the front had his cheek slashed by the Zerg during the negotiation. The Zerg said gloomily, "If you make that annoying noise again, I will kill you."
The other person covered his face, tears and blood streaming down his face, and fainted on the spot.
The other colleagues hurriedly evacuated to the side and did not dare to make any more moves.
Seeing this, the woman whispered quickly, "Mom, count to three, two, one, and you run in the direction the staff just left, okay?!"
Staying with this Zerg would definitely be a dead end, so she would find a way to hold this man back and let her daughter escape.
"Three, two, one... run!" The woman turned over, gritted her teeth, grabbed the short Zerg's wings with her bare hands, broke them apart, and pressed the Zerg under her body to buy time for her daughter.
Seeing this, the Zerg controlling the situation was about to rush over to help and try to catch the little girl at the same time.
But an invisible force restrained his movements and he could not move.
This feeling... is the externalization of mental power!
Damn, how come there is someone in this place who can externalize his mental power?
"Damn it, who is getting in the way? Get out here!" The Zerg yelled, looking towards the amusement park stalls where no one was to be seen.
Although he had just let a lot of people go, there must still be people hiding in the dark who didn't have time to escape.
The force that was restraining his insect wings and legs moved, and then his throat suddenly contracted, and a feeling of suffocation gradually came over him.
To others, it looked as if the Zerg was possessed by something and was struggling by strangling its own neck.
The woman who was pressing on the Zerg was stunned. On the other hand, she felt that the Zerg under her did not fight back. What was going on?
"Don't just stand there, can you still run?" An old man's voice came from somewhere. After the woman reacted, she immediately covered her abdomen and stood up tremblingly, trying her best to walk quickly towards the place where her daughter escaped.
Mr. Bai watched from the dark and sighed to himself.
His movements were slow, and it looked like he had been poisoned by the Phantom Wind Butterfly.
But it should be worth it as it saved my life.
Mr. Bai continued to control his mental power to attack the two Zergs, trying to kill them directly, but his mental power had dropped to C-level, so it was still okay to control only one of the Zergs, but it was difficult to control the two Zergs that were suspected to be B-level.
Even though his actual combat experience could make up for some of the level gap, he was not at an advantage in terms of numbers.
A woman not far away was still trying to leave. The two staff members failed to stop her daughter, and the little girl ran towards the woman.
The two men saw that the Zerg seemed to be cursing something and didn't seem to have time to care about them. They stepped forward, one of them holding one side and leading the people away.
On the other side, a stall owner who had just failed to run away also wanted to take this opportunity to escape.
Compared to when he was scared to the point of his legs going limp by the two Zerg just now, now the two Zerg could only stare blankly at his appearance.
The stall owner bravely stepped forward and turned on his computer to record a video: "Friends, this is a genuine Zerg fugitive. This is the children's playground on the edge of the main city of Serris Star. It is under attack--"
The stall owner's tone changed as he uttered the last two words. He took a trembling step back and fell to the ground, not daring to move.
It's because of fear.
Because the tall Zerg's wings suddenly attacked him, his flushed face returned to its original appearance, he gasped for breath on the spot, and the murderous intent in his eyes became stronger.
Looking at the stall owner who was looking for death, Mr. Bai cursed angrily: "Why don't you leave, you idiot?"
The stall owner came to his senses and started to crawl away on his knees.
It was difficult for Mr. Bai to control the frenzied Zerg with his mental strength. The toxin in the Zerg mother between its legs seemed to have sensed the breath of its own kind and became active.
The severe pain in his legs made it impossible for Mr. Bai to continue to control his externalized mental power. The frenzied Zerg took this opportunity to break free from its restraints and moved its tentacles slightly.
Seeing this, the stall owner hurriedly shouted: "Don't kill me, don't kill me, don't kill me..."
The Zerg didn't even look at him. This human wasn't worth his effort at all. He just handed it over to him.
The tall Zerg walked towards the source of the sound, then raised his hand and overturned a food cart: "Found it."
The person who was only able to externalize his mental power was obviously weaker than he had imagined. The old man sitting in the wheelchair had sweat all over his forehead.
The other party sneered: "Tsk, a cripple dares to ruin my good deeds?"
The bone blade was swung, but the Zerg did not see any panic on the face of the human old man, and the murderous intent seemed a little boring at this moment.
But he who ruined their plan deserved to be killed.
The sharp blade flashing with a cold light was about to fall. Mr. Bai stepped back, and a white shadow appeared in front of him.
Oswald, who was wearing a blanket, said viciously: "Ouch——"
——I’m here to save people!
The Zerg was stunned. What kind of ghost appeared?
Then Oswald shook off the blanket, and a golden little dragon appeared in everyone's sight.
Mr. Bai's breathing stagnated, and he said nervously: "Kid, hurry up!"
The butterfly lying on the ground was gradually out of his control. All he could do now was to protect Osvid.
In less than two minutes, the Star Police will be here, and he can still hold on.
But Osvid did not listen to Grandpa Bai's words. Instead, he set his eyes on the food on the overturned food cart and the bone blade held high by the Zerg.
Without caring about anything else, Osvid stepped forward and took a bite of the Zerg's bone blade.
——Crackling.
Before anyone could react, the sickle-like bone blade fell to the ground, and the Zerg howled in pain.
Then, Osvid took the opportunity to start clearing out the food boxes on the dining car, eating whatever was available, stuffing his mouth full, and then swallowing hard.
Soon, enough dragon power was accumulated.
The little dragon cub stepped on the Zerg bone blade and held his breath: "Ah——"
——He can do it!
Thanks to the efforts of the little dragon, his body size doubled. Then he grabbed the bone blade with one claw, chewed it, and swallowed it into his stomach to replenish energy. He aimed at another bone blade of the Zerg with the other claw, chopped it off neatly with the power of the dragon, and stuffed it into his mouth again.
This scene left Grandpa Bai behind him stunned.
He had been fighting on the battlefield for so many years, but this was the first time he had seen this kind of fighting style.
How come the Zerg, which is tenacious and highly defensive, becomes so fragile in comparison with the little dragon?
And the next second, something that refreshed Grandpa Bai's cognition happened again.
The little dragon effortlessly stripped the giant Zerg of its weapons, then stepped forward and breathed out dragon breath in a show of force: "Awoo, awoo!"
This is a common practice among dragons. This kind of dragon breath is different from the one used to mark territory or property. It is used to intimidate opponents.
By the way, tell the other dragons that this dragon has been defeated by him.
Osvid flew high up, trying to kick the Zerg down, but his claws missed.
—Hmm? What's going on?
Do Zerg also have the ability to teleport?
The little dragon turned his head and found that the Zerg that had just fallen over there was also gone.
While Osvid was puzzled, one of the two Zergs was crawling darkly on the ground, and the other turned into a butterfly and flew over quietly, trying to carry his companion away.
They didn't know what happened, but after feeling the dragon's breath and the dragon's roar, they inexplicably regressed to their ancestral state.
Along with it came a heart-wrenching, yet intense, feeling of fear.
It seems that since birth, their innate reaction to encountering dragons is to escape and surrender.
There was also this weird thought: I must not get caught or I'd be eaten.
The two Zergs crawling in the dark heard the sirens of the arrival of the Star Police, and the noise brought by the survivors gave them an opportunity.
"Run, run!" One of the Zerg communicated with his companions through telepathy, "The dragon is gone!"
"I know! But my wings are broken, you know? I was wrong to come and take you to escape! Don't rush me..."
"What's wrong with a broken wing? Didn't you see that dragon ate my bone blade directly!"
Just as they were about to take off, a cry of "Ah?" made the two insects tremble.
The park scene.
"Those with minor injuries should wait first. Don't crowd!" a Star Police officer asked. "Where are the other Zerg fugitives?"
Everyone answered in a flurry, and then a golden little dragon caught everyone's attention.
The little dragon cub held an unknown insect in one claw and a silver butterfly in the other: "Awoo!"
——Uncle Star Police, the Zerg fugitive is here!
