Chapter 148 A Stormy Era Begins

"Stop making a scene and leave now."

Lu Wuyai checked the time, then pulled Moloy along and continued running. After they left the orchard, he quickly cleaned up his footprints, then ran two laps in another direction by himself, wiped some of the footprints clean, and then returned to the cave with Moloy.

At 3 p.m., everyone gathered in the cave, with no immediate plans to leave.

At the last moment before nightfall, Lu Wuyai went to the stream, fetched two buckets of water, and then sealed the cave entrance.

Everyone slept late that night. The cave was brightly lit. Yang Jian and the others were digging a new tunnel to expand the cavern.

So far, the underground cave has only one entrance and exit. After thinking about it, everyone felt that this was not safe, so they spent some time digging a tunnel leading to the toilet first, so that they would have enough time to escape if danger occurred.

The plan to expand the underground cave was also underway at the same time, and everyone spent half the night working on it.

In the early morning, Lu Wuyai finished clearing the soil piled up at the entrance of the cave.

On a cold winter night in December, the wind howled, and the forest was eerily silent. There were no insects or birds; everything seemed to be dormant.

After re-entering the cave, Song Xiaoyou had already adjusted the generator's power to the minimum, and the heater's temperature was only enough for everyone to feel a little warm while snuggled under the covers.

The women huddled together, silently passing on their remaining warmth.

Lu Wuyai held Su Xi in his arms, occasionally moving his hands and feet to feel her silky smoothness.

That night, everyone slept soundly. They didn't wake up until 10 a.m. the next day, their hands and feet aching.

The container base will not be visited for the time being, and the survivors may not leave anytime soon.

Yang Jian and others plan to use this time to expand and renovate the underground cave to accommodate more supplies in the future.

Today, the sky is cloudless, a rare and beautiful day.

Lu Wuyai and Song Xiaoyou carried the general and marshal out of the cave and placed them on a rocky hill so that they could get more sun exposure, which would help their bones grow.

Some people even light fires by the stream to boil water, wash clothes, and cook. They also take out things hidden in underground caves to air them in the sun to prevent them from getting moldy.

Lu Wuyai glanced at Tang Xin, then turned to Song Xiaoyou and said, "Let's go take a look at the chicken coop."

Song Xiaoyou remained silent for a while, then nodded and let Lu Wuyai leave first.

The chicken coop and rabbit hutch are both located on the edge of a rocky hill, close to the forest, built at the foot of a low cliff. To protect against predators from the forest, the area is covered with a jagged thicket of thorny bushes. Even they, like you, would have to struggle to get in.

After not visiting the chicken coop for several days, Lu Wuyai opened the door and saw a large number of eggs inside, with some nests containing more than a dozen eggs and others containing seven or eight. Although they were a bit small, each one was round and plump.

Lu Wuyai asked Song Xiaoyou to go and collect the eggs with him, but when he turned around, he saw her standing still, her head tilted to one side, as if she had seen something.

"What's wrong?" Lu Wuyai walked out of the chicken coop and headed towards Song Xiaoyou again.

The woman touched something in front of her, and Lu Wuyai saw a lot of chicken feathers near the chicken coop. He walked closer and saw that all the feathers were covered in blood and disappeared into the direction of the forest.

"I'll go count the chickens in the coop."

With a sullen expression, Lu Wuyai turned and walked into the chicken coop, only to find that the number of pheasants had actually decreased significantly.

"If I remember correctly, there were originally thirty-two pheasants, but now there are only twenty-five left." Lu Wuyai took a breath. He hadn't noticed this problem when he came to the pheasant coop before.

After walking around the chicken coop, Yang Jian found that the coop was intact and there was no damage anywhere else. He really couldn't understand how the pheasants had been poisoned.

As for the rabbit hutch, no tragedy has been discovered yet.

Song Xiaoyou said, "Let's pick up the eggs first."

Lu Wuyai nodded; this was all he could do for the time being.

However, while collecting the eggs, he noticed that some hens were reacting particularly strongly, leading Song Xiaoyou to speculate that these eggs might hatch into chicks.

"Fertilized egg".

Lu Wuyai's expression suddenly turned strange. He remembered what had happened between him and Song Xiaoyou in the container that night. Impossible.

Noticing Lu Wuyai's expression, Song Xiaoyou was initially confused, but she quickly understood, her face flushed red, and she spat on the ground.

"My aunt is here."

Hearing this, Lu Wuyai finally breathed a sigh of relief, secretly thinking to himself that he really did have a bit of a scumbag vibe.

However, on the way, Lu Wuyai thought about the entanglement between himself and Su Xi, and decided that he must be more careful in the future.

It's not a good thing for a woman to get pregnant on a desert island.

Back in the cave, Song Xiaoyou took out a flashlight and used the darkness to illuminate the eggs she had recently collected from the chicken coop, one by one.

Ultimately, they identified 36 fertilized eggs.

Song Xiaoyou took out a bamboo basket and laid a soft quilt on it, while Tang Xin also went to the forest to get some soft yellow weeds as a mat.

Then, the fertilized eggs were placed on top one by one, being careful not to break them.

From that day on, the generator ran 24 hours a day, and the temperature inside the cave remained within a constant and comfortable range.

Although it's a bit expensive, everyone is looking forward to the new life that's about to begin.

Emerging from the cave, Lu Wuyai calculated the diesel consumption and decided to return to the base later, especially to check on the crashed plane, as there might still be fuel inside.

After all, the survivors shouldn't need to use something like this.

By the stream, several women were still washing clothes. They had taken a lot of resources from the base, including soap and brushes, as well as winter supplies.

Lu Wuyai breathed a sigh of relief, then remembered that he hadn't brushed his teeth yet. He glanced at the charcoal in the campfire as usual, shook his head, took out a toothbrush and toothpaste from the basket on his back, and ran downstream to wash up.

Perhaps it was winter; in that atmosphere, it was really hard for people to think about taking the initiative to work.

After brushing his teeth and washing his face, Lu Wuyai lay on the rock and smelled the scent on his clothes, because there was still a trace of Su Xi's milky fragrance on his body.

Thinking of the ripples last night, Lu Wuyai was preparing to make a move.

"Sigh, this kind of life is really decadent."

Lu Wuyai got up from the ground, stretched, picked up the axe on the ground, and decided to vent all his excess energy in the wild forest opposite the rocky mountain.

Strangely, compared to other places, this forest seems to possess a vitality rarely seen in winter.

The clusters of green leaves range from light to dark. Besides the most common pine trees, there are many other unnamed green plants here.

Lu Wuyai set several traps nearby, hoping to reap some rewards in the afternoon or tomorrow.

Compared to spring, summer, and autumn, there are fewer opportunities to catch prey in winter.

Yang Jian had been to this forest many times, so he was naturally very familiar with the environment.

Ten minutes later, Lu Wuyai chopped down a large tree, cut it into firewood, tied it with bamboo strips, and then rushed back towards the cave.

It was nearly noon, and waves of mist drifted across many parts of the deserted island. However, unlike in summer, this mist was extremely cold. Once inhaled, it felt as if the lungs were frozen, causing great discomfort.

Before long, a thin mist drifted from the upper reaches of the stream and gradually covered the entire rocky mountain.

Everyone had gotten used to it; they grabbed their belongings and hurried back to the cave as quickly as possible.

Lu Wuyai was the last to enter the cave. After confirming the number of people, he closed the cave.

The mist won't dissipate until at least 2 PM, and its location isn't fixed each time. It drifts wherever the wind blows, vast and boundless, like a sea of mist.

Perhaps feeling that the environment inside the cave was too quiet, Anna pouted and slowly hummed a song.

She is a world-renowned singer. Even when she is just humming a tune, she has a captivating magic.

“Sounds good.” Even Molloy couldn’t help but exclaim.

The gentle singing voice, like a lullaby, has lulled many people to sleep without them even realizing it.

After Anna finished singing, she realized that the surroundings had become quiet.

Lu Wuyai gave her a thumbs up. He had almost fallen asleep while she was humming a song. Unfortunately, he had slept too deeply last night and was finding it really hard to fall asleep now.

Jin Xilu was also plucking the birds' feathers. There were many bird nests. Winter was coming, and to prevent the bird's nests from spoiling, the women soaked all the bird's nests that they had picked without feathers in water and left them outside the cave for a while. By nightfall, everything had solidified.

Perhaps it's because they often eat bird's nest, but everyone's complexion and skin are very good, and they look even more refined than when they wear makeup.

Seeing the bird's nest, Lu Wuyai naturally thought of the perilous peak. Since leaving that place, they had rarely returned.

Anna and the others were already asleep. Lu Wuyai checked the time and realized that there were still at least two hours before the fog dissipated.

He picked up a shovel, walked to the toilet at the end of the tunnel, and began digging, continuing to dig deeper into the tunnel.

Soon, Anna and Kim Hee-rok arrived with the wood and asked where the fulcrum should be placed.

The depth of a tunnel can cause it to become unstable. Therefore, it's natural to use other materials to reinforce it, and wood is the most convenient.

However, wood is prone to rot, so the best method is to cover it with cement. Once cured, it can safely support the tunnel structure.

Soon enough, Anna and Jin Xilu were busy at the scene, bending over to knead the mud. The exaggerated curves under their tight-fitting clothes made Lu Wuyai's mouth dry.

Anna, in particular, even in winter, despite wearing many layers of clothing, could still tempt men to commit crimes.

"Amitabha."

Lu Wuyai swallowed hard, forcing himself to calm down, shifting his gaze, and continuing to dig.

According to the prediction, a gentle slope can be dug within three days. There will be a tree in the dug area, which can be used as a cover for the hole.

Soon, the cement piles were completed. Anna and Jin Xilu roughly supported the frame. Lu Wuyai picked up a hammer and drove the wooden piles into the ground.

Lacking professional theoretical knowledge, Lu Wuyai and his colleagues could only use the most rudimentary methods to ensure the safety of the tunnel and cave.

Lu Wuyai needs to use cement piles every now and then, so for the three of them, this project is still huge.

Anna and Kim Hee-rok were drenched in sweat. The cramped space and stuffy air were a challenge.

Lu Wuyai had already taken off his clothes, revealing his bronze skin. He looked a bit thin, but his figure was still very well-proportioned.

It wasn't until 2 PM that Su Xi and the others, still asleep, woke up. When they heard the sounds coming from the tunnel, they rushed over to help.

In half a day, the six people used cement and wood to support the dug tunnel before dark, and then moved the excess soil into the forest near the rocky mountain.

As dusk fell, Lu Wuyai poured the last basket of soil into the grass, and heard a faint rustling sound.

Lu Wuyai glanced to the west and noticed something moving in the withered grass, which suddenly alerted him.

It was already dark, and they were several kilometers away from the cave. Lu Wuyai threw the soil here to avoid being discovered inside the cave.

Surprisingly, at this time and in this temperature, there are still animals out foraging for food.

Lu Wuyai grabbed a winnowing basket from the ground and tied it to his back. With one hand supporting his gun, he carefully retreated to the side of a large tree.

Squatting on the ground, Lu Wuyai listened to the wind around him while keeping his eyes fixed on what lay ahead.

As darkness fell, fiery clouds appeared in the west, and lightning and thunder could be faintly seen in the eastern sky; a storm could engulf this deserted island at any moment.

Lu Wuyai waited for a while, and just as he was about to leave, the grass in front of him began to stir again.

"Whatever." Lu Wuyai didn't want to stay here any longer, so he walked around the big tree behind him and quietly left the forest.

Before long, he safely retreated to the edge of the forest, but before leaving, he even set a trap there to prevent anything from following him.

As darkness fell, Lu Wuyai returned to Shiqiu and cautiously opened the door. Remembering the commotion he'd experienced in the woods, he took off a piece of clothing and threw it far towards the stream.

Inside the cave, after a busy day, the others were already starting a fire and cooking.

Yang Jian saw Song Xiaoyou in the corner, holding a flashlight and carefully examining the contents of the egg.

Many people are curious about this scene, and most of them have no experience in this area, so they are very interested in what Song Xiaoyou did.

Seeing five heads gathered around her, Song Xiaoyou felt a little embarrassed, but she still called out softly.

“In the past, most of the chicks in our village would hatch in about 20 days, but this time we’re just a matter of time before we start collecting the eggs. I don’t know how long we’ll have to wait.”

As he spoke, Song Xiaoyou turned on his flashlight again, showing us the bloodstains on several eggs. The scene was filled with the miracle of life.

"Incredible!" Anna's eyes widened, and she took a deep breath. The waves of emotion on her chest almost overwhelmed Lu Wuyai's eyes.

At this point, Molloy pouted and said disdainfully, "It's just a chicken. Look at you, you look like you've never seen anything like it."

She was speaking the language of the bird kingdom, so Lu Wuyai couldn't understand her. As for the others, they obviously couldn't be bothered with her.

Molloy is from the base and has been used for experiments, so naturally their relationship wouldn't be good.

However, she had a past relationship with Lu Wuyai. Over the past few days, Yang Jian has acted as a mediator, trying to maintain a certain balance for the sake of team harmony.

After dinner, everyone prepared to pave the tunnel they had dug with cement before dark.

The cement materials are readily available, so on-site fabrication is not difficult.

Lu Wuyai went out again with the bucket of water, braving the strong wind in the cold night, which seemed to have brought some rain as well.

Looking up at the sky, twilight descended, and there were no stars. Perhaps it was because the clouds blocked everything.

It's going to rain.

As Lu Wuyai walked back, he noticed some lights flickering in the forest when he was almost at the cave. He suddenly felt a sense of tension.

"It looks like fire." Lu Wuyai glanced in the direction of the cave, thankful that he had closed the cave door when he came out.

He groped his way to the cave entrance in the dark, squatted down, and groped around for a while before discovering a wooden plank covering the entrance. Then he gently and rhythmically tapped it, producing a rhythmic tapping sound.

Soon, the people inside the cave heard the noise and quickly turned off their lights. At the same time, they opened the wooden planks in the cave and called Lu Wuyai down.

Back in the cave, Lu Wuyai immediately pulled out his pistol and some bullets, then took his basket and left.

"Be careful," Tang Xin whispered in his ear.

Afterwards, the cave closed, and Lu Wuyai quietly squatted on the ground. The cold wind was biting, but he wasn't cold at all.

His entire body was covered in red ant slime. Although it had been stored for some time and its heating effect had been significantly reduced, it still provided some protection against the cold.

Soon, the flickering firelight reappeared in the wind. Looking at the points of light in the forest, Lu Wuyai realized that someone had truly come this time.

But what are these people doing in this freezing weather?

Lu Wuyai rubbed his nose; the air conditioner was constantly blowing air into him, and even he couldn't stand it.

"A sneeze."

As a result, he sneezed, and Lu Wuyai suddenly felt something was wrong.

Sure enough, the mobile firepower stopped and then rushed towards Lu Wuyai's direction.

The speed wasn't very fast. Lu Wuyai realized that there were probably only a few opponents, and they were clearly wary of him.

Therefore, Lu Wuyai wasn't prepared to expose himself, nor was he prepared to fire a gun. He wanted to see who these people were.

“Maybe they were the skydivers.” Lu Wuyai came to Shi Qiu’s side, took out night vision goggles from the basket on his back, and put them on. In the dark environment, everything immediately became clear.

Especially since the other party had not yet extinguished their torch, the nearby lights appeared exceptionally bright.

Soon, Lu Wuyai discovered that there were five people in the group, walking with a hunched back and a cat-like gait. They appeared insignificant under the night vision goggles.

With a mocking intent, Lu Wuyai picked up a stone from the rocky hill and threw it at the other person.

Bada

The stone fell to the ground, making a clanging sound, which startled the other person, who immediately stopped.

Another gust of wind blew by and extinguished the torch.

Taking the opportunity, Lu Wuyai circled the stream and walked to the back of the group. He felt it necessary to lead this group away from the rocky mountain. Otherwise, if they discovered the stream, it would be very troublesome for the people in the cave.

However, Lu Wuyai was still a beat too slow. After relighting the torches, the group finally saw the shimmering water in the distance.

Perhaps they hadn't had water for days. Seeing this, the five survivors immediately rushed forward, stuck torches in the ground, and bent down to drink.

Seeing this, Lu Wuyai frowned, and the thought of killing the other party here immediately arose in his mind.

He raised his gun, but still did not take any action.

“Make a call,” Yang Jian sighed. He still couldn’t get over that hurdle in his heart. The other party was also a human being, and hadn’t done anything to harm him.

Soon, after drinking the water, the group began to take out containers, such as cups and bags, to fill them with as much stream water as possible.

Ten minutes later, Lu Wuyai opened the cave, saying it was safe, and then led the group away.

With a bang.

A burning hot mouth flew out of the hole in the ground, soaring into the sky, and disappeared into the night along with Lu Wuyai.

Half an hour later, Lu Wuyai stood behind a big tree, and two familiar tents appeared in front of him.

These tents originally belonged to soldiers outside the container base, but now they've appeared here.

At first, Lu Wuyai genuinely believed he was a soldier, but he quickly realized he was wrong.

He saw a familiar face, the same man who had gotten off the red helicopter that day, and snatched his gun.

Lu Wuyai stood in the shade of a tree. Near the tent in front of him were three iron barrels, inside which roared a fire. However, as the strong wind continued to blow, the flames were extinguished.

Soon, the tent opened, and Yang Jian saw someone coming out, so he subconsciously lowered his head.

Through a gap in the bushes, he saw a man throwing wood into a metal bucket. A few minutes later, the man rubbed his arm and crawled into a tent.

Looking at the two tents, Lu Wuyai frowned, unsure of what to do.

The water source on the rocky hill has been discovered. The area around the cave will likely be quite lively by tomorrow morning.

Lu Wuyai stayed a while longer, and as he was about to leave, he saw some unusual lights in the forest, which looked like the eyes of wolves.

The reason it is described as exceptionally bright is because the green wolf has too many pupils.

Seeing this, Lu Wuyai hurriedly retreated. There were at least twenty wolves that had suddenly appeared.

On a deserted island, he seemed to have never seen so many wolves together before.

In a moment of desperation, Lu Wuyai glanced at a nearby tree, decisively took out a rope from the basket on his back, tied it tightly to the trunk, and immediately climbed up.

Considering that wolves can also climb trees, Lu Wuyai chose a straight pine tree and cut off all the excess branches during the climb.

He arrived at the center of the tree trunk, panting. At this point, he was at least five meters above the ground. This distance allowed him a clear view of the area around the two tents.

There were more wolves than he had imagined.

"It seems you can't camp outdoors in winter." Lu Wuyai took a breath and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

These wolves must have been starving for a long time. The firelight here was like a beacon in the darkness, attracting the predators.

Early on, Lu Wuyai and the others knew that fire was not as threatening to animals as they had imagined. For example, for wolves, a weak fire would be their first choice for attack.

"Now, they are miserable."

As Lu Wuyai watched the approaching pack of wolves, a sudden surge of joy welled up inside him. He sighed inwardly; perhaps this was just the despicable side of human nature.

Naturally, he wanted these people to disappear, but not because of himself.

Now, the wolves have proven Lu Wuyai's inner thoughts right.

On the tree trunk, Yang Jian changed his position to make it easier to observe, then took off his night vision goggles and replaced them with a scope, which immediately gave him a clear view.

But to his surprise, he found a wolf cub among the wolf pack.

Although wild wolves all look similar, they become easy to tell apart after spending time together. Just like twins, there are always clues to distinguish them.

"Little wolf, when did you join the wolf pack?"

Lu Wuyai took a breath and suddenly realized that he seemed to have neglected the other person for a while, and many things were undergoing subtle changes.

Seeing the wolf cub join the pack, Lu Wuyai didn't find anything wrong with it. After all, this was the wolves' true home.

The wolf cubs were a little thicker and less round than when they lived in the cave. One can imagine how difficult it would be for the wolves to find food in the winter on the deserted island, and how much they must have brought the humans in the two tents.

"it hurts."

A wolf howl rang out, and then the wolves near the tent took action.

"bring it on."

Lu Wuyai silently mourned for the survivors. With so many wolves, unless the enemy immediately suppressed them with firepower, there was no other way for them to survive.

Sure enough, the next second, when the wolf rushed into the tent, a heart-wrenching scream rang out.

The blood, like spurting water, was directly illuminated by the firelight and stained the tent red.

A strong gust of wind blew in, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.

"That's terrifying."

A human-shaped corpse was dragged out by two wolves, who began fighting each other. After a few minutes, it was torn to pieces.

Another woman emerged alive from the tent, her hair disheveled, and plunged into the woods, followed by three or five wolves. She knew the outcome with her eyes closed.

For a full ten minutes, not a single person survived inside the tent.

More than thirty wolves ate a complete meal on this cold night. Looking at Lu Wuyai's whole body, he thought to himself, "A hungry wolf in winter is simply a killing machine."

“It’s really cruel. I should thank the wolves I encountered in the forest before.” Lu Wuyai took a breath, clenched his hands, and felt really worried about himself and the people in the cave.

This is a pack of wolves.

When Lu Wuyai saw the bloodied wolf cubs, he broke out in a cold sweat again.

It was eating a person's heart and liver, its mouth full of blood. It seemed to have never been so carefree while it was in the cave.

The taste of raw meat is always a favorite of these carnivores.

"It's time to go." Lu Wuyai leaned against the rope, hiding in the tree. Although he couldn't fall down, as time went by, some parts of his body gradually became numb.

Half an hour later, the wolves around the tent began to retreat. The campfire was still burning, but it was getting weaker and weaker.

"If you encounter wolves or other hunting animals again in winter, you must leave as soon as possible," Lu Wuyai warned himself silently. In a deserted island-like place, there should never be any luck.

He decided to tell you what happened tonight when he got back, so that everyone could be careful.

Another half hour passed. During this time, some cats passed by, eating the leftovers from the wolves, and letting out a series of mournful howls.

Feeling numb all over, Lu Wuyai moved his body and used a rope to climb directly to the top of the tree, intending to rest there for the night.

In winter, the tree trunks were quiet, and Lu Wuyai saw several bird nests with chicks inside.

Lu Wuyai looked inside and thought to himself, "It must be really tough for these chicks to survive the winter here."

After thinking for a moment, Lu Wuyai took out a bag of biscuits from the basket on his back, broke them into pieces, and scattered them into the nearby bird nests.

These marching rations left them very hungry, and Yang Jian hoped the little bird could survive.

That night, the wind was biting cold, and Lu Wuyai huddled against a tree trunk until dawn.

At dawn the next day, he climbed down from the treetop and immediately went to check the supplies in the tent.

Apart from a few pieces of clothing, Lu Wuyai couldn't find anything else of value.

Later, instead of rushing to the cave, he returned to the camp and saw the red helicopter.

After circling the helicopter, Yang Jian located the fuel tank. He opened it, smashed the valve, and shone a flashlight inside; it was still more than half full of kerosene. He was overjoyed.

Yang Jian opened a container, took out several buckets, and used a siphon to pour the kerosene from the airplane into the buckets.

As a result, Yang Jian discovered that the seemingly small helicopter contained too much kerosene.

After the five barrels were filled, Yang Jian discovered that the helicopter was also filled with kerosene.

"This is outrageous."

Lu Wuyai found it unbelievable. Looking at the wrecked tail of the helicopter, he thought to himself, how wonderful it would be if this were a complete aircraft.

Later, Lu Wuyai put the buckets filled with kerosene into a shipping container and hid them. He also brought over some iron boxes used for experiments and continued to fill them with kerosene.

During this time, Lu Wuyai also saw Su Xi and Anna, who were looking for him.

Three falcons circled in the sky for a while, one of them flying directly towards the cave, probably for safety.

"Song Xiaoyou has trained greed and his ilk very well." Su Xi couldn't help but admire him.

Lu Wuyai nodded, then began to greet them, first hiding the tin box full of kerosene.

But thinking of the diesel generator in the cave, Anna asked, "Is this kerosene collected for the generator?"

Lu Wuyai shook his head. The caves were equipped with diesel generators, so they certainly couldn't use kerosene.

"Then how do we collect it?" Su Xi pinched her nose. The smell of kerosene was too strong, making her feel nauseous.

"Get ready." Yang Jian remembered the generators in the container earlier; some of them might be kerosene-burning.

So he swiped his card to enter the container and looked for possibilities among the remaining generators.

But God doesn't do what people want to do, and things in the world never develop according to people's subjective ideas.

Finally, Lu Wuyai shook his head, stepped out of the container, and continued collecting kerosene from the helicopter.

Around noon, the three returned to Shiqiu, still smelling of oil.

Su Xi and Anna already knew what happened last night, so after returning to the station, they told the others that if they encountered a pack of wolves or other organized wild animals in the wild, they should evacuate as soon as possible and run as far away as possible.

Fire is not only a source of fear, but also a coordinate for hunting.

Braving the biting cold, Yang Jian stood downstream of the stream and began washing away the grime from his body.

The water was flowing, but it was really cold. It took Yang Jian half an hour to wash off the red ant slime from his body. After washing, he scrubbed himself again with soap, then held his breath and jumped into the stream to rinse off.

When he was a student, he often took cold showers in winter, but the water on the deserted island was so cold that it would scrape his skin.

Ten minutes later, Lu Wuyai emerged from the water, shivering, feeling much better now.

Su Xi walked over, handed him a towel and clothes, glanced at his well-defined abs, and secretly spat.

"I'm freezing to death." Lu Wuyai breathed a sigh of relief, pulled Su Xi into his arms, and then put his hand into her neck.

Tang Xin trembled, and when she realized what she was doing, she immediately wanted to escape from Lu Wuyai's embrace.

"Hey, hey," Lu Wuyai said as he carried Tang Xin and hid in the woods. Soon, a buzzing sound rang out.

An hour later, two people emerged from the woods. One had a pinkish complexion and trembled as he walked. The other looked refreshed and felt as if his soul had floated away.

Su Xi glared at him fiercely, but her heart still trembled as she thought of the passion they had shared in the woods.

“Yang Jian.” Tang Xin suddenly looked at him seriously.

Lu Wuyai also stopped smiling, noticing that Su Xi seemed to be about to say something important.

"What if, I said, what if, what if I get pregnant in the future?" Tang Xin stared at him very seriously.

Yang Jian blinked. He had never thought about this question before. Although he always exercised restraint, he couldn't guarantee that an accident wouldn't happen again.

Lu Wuyai also said with a serious expression, "If you are really pregnant, then have the baby."

Hearing this, Su Xi sighed: "You think it's just about hatching eggs? The risks of raising babies are even greater than on a deserted island. If you were to abandon them outside, it would be a major disaster."

Tang Xin looked towards the cave and suddenly snuggled into Lu Wuyai's arms.

"It was my fault before, don't be angry."

Tang Xin's words made Lu Wuyai chuckle a few times. Thinking back to what had happened before, he still felt a sharp pain in his heart. Even though his relationship with Tang Xin had made a significant breakthrough, to be honest, men are driven by their senses.

The two stayed nestled in the forest until dusk before heading towards the cave.

No one knows what the future holds. Lu Wuyai just wants to live in the present.

As they entered the cave, Lu Wuyai pulled Su Xi back.

"If I am really pregnant, I will find a way to leave the deserted island."

"So if you weren't pregnant, would you want to live on a deserted island forever?" Su Xi was completely puzzled.

Lu Wuyai remained silent and entered the cave first.

Su Xi was the last to enter and close the door, just as dusk was falling.

That night, a northwest wind howled, and a layer of frost fell outside the cave.

Around midnight, Lu Wuyai went out because Song Xiaoyou suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to cover the chicken coop with animal hides. If this weather continued for a long time, the pheasants would likely freeze to death the next day.

There was no other way. Still asleep, Yang Jian could only brave the biting cold wind, put on his night-vision goggles, and grope his way to the chicken coop in the dark.

Walking towards the chicken coop, Lu Wuyai held a gun in his hand and wore a bulletproof vest he had obtained from a soldier in the Bird Country. However, this thing was completely ineffective against the cold.

As soon as he stepped out of the cave, Lu Wuyai was shivering from the cold, and his calves even cramped up.

After adapting for a while, Lu Wuyai began to move forward quickly.

The sky is not dark tonight; it is full of stars, like a magnificent map of the starry sea.

Soon, Lu Wuyai saw the chicken coop. Upon arrival, he took out a dozen sheepskins from the basket on his back. Hemp ropes had already been woven into them, and he tied them tightly to the cement posts so that none of the sheepskins would fall to the ground.

After doing all this, Lu Wuyai walked out of the chicken coop and smelled the odor on his hands. Besides the smell of sheep, there was also a strong smell of chicken manure.

But just as he was about to leave, several pairs of green eyes drifted around in the woods.

At this moment, Lu Wuyai ran towards the chicken coop.

He opened the door to the chicken coop, jumped in, and closed the door, his heart pounding with fear.

"That was a wolf just now." Lu Wuyai gasped, feeling a chill run down his spine. Why would these ancestors reappear here at this time?

Even through the thick sheepskin, Lu Wuyai could hear the other's heavy breathing, a sound of extreme desire for prey.

Lu Wuyai held up his gun and used the muzzle to push the sheepskin aside. Suddenly, a wolf bit the muzzle, nearly scaring Lu Wuyai half to death.

With a bang.

The bullet shot out of the wolf's mouth, instantly taking the life of a wild wolf.

But the smell of blood immediately stimulated the senses of the other wolves. Lu Wuyai heard a murderous aura emanating from near the chicken coop, as if Death itself had crawled out from underground, gritting its teeth at him.

Lu Wuyai kept taking deep breaths. The height of the chicken coop wasn't very comfortable, so after entering it, he hunched over, and the feeling of oppression in his chest grew stronger and stronger.

Finally, when the suppression and hoarding reached an extreme, Lu Wuyai finally erupted.

Lu Wuyai's eyes were red. He kept firing, bullets piercing through the gaps between cement and wood, randomly shooting at the wolves.

Click-clack.

Outside the cave, a bloodied wolf claw had just slashed a wound on his right leg.

Despite the excruciating pain, Lu Wuyai took a crossbow from the basket at his feet. The anger in his heart gradually turned into calm.

Fear breeds panic. Lu Wuyai must kill as many wolves as possible while he still has the strength to support him.

In the darkness, he could see the wolves' shifty eyes. Their numbers were unknown, and they didn't seem to have come to the chicken coop on short notice.

At this moment, the pheasants in the henhouse dared not make a sound. They all huddled together at the foot of the cliff, trembling with fear. The smell in the air was truly unpleasant.

Call it out.

Lu Wuyai shot an arrow. Judging from the sound, it should have hit the wolf, but that doesn't mean anything.

He was still in danger, hunted by a pack of wolves, but this time, it was Lu Wuyai's turn.
