Chapter 59 The Foolish Pillar with Double Standards

"Okay, okay, okay," Sha Zhu hurriedly nodded in agreement. As for Liu Lan, I'll remember you. You wait until I've learned it.

“Silly Zhu, I won’t make things difficult for you. Here’s what we’ll do: you kowtow to me three times, and if you make up for the missed three festivals and two birthdays, I’ll pass on the skill to you. How about that? Pretty generous, right?” Ma Hua said with a smile.

Ma Hua's smiling face looked particularly disgusting to Sha Zhu, who stood up angrily and said, "Ma Hua, how dare you play me?"

"It was you, Shazhu, who started the joke," Ma Hua scoffed. Is this Shazhu an idiot? Does he really think I'm his father, teaching him everything he asks?

You idiot Zhu, have you forgotten how you treated me before? What's wrong? You think you can just casually say you were wrong and expect me to hand over the secret recipe? Bullshit! Impossible, absolutely impossible!

Sha Zhu felt like he was about to be driven crazy by Ma Hua. He had been thinking about how to torment Ma Hua after he got the secret recipe, but he didn't expect Ma Hua to be teasing him. But now he didn't dare to provoke Ma Hua, so he could only vent his anger on Fatty: "What are you eating? Hurry up and go clean up. I hate seeing you."

The fat man put down his lunchbox, looking aggrieved. "You went and humiliated yourself. What does it have to do with me? But Ma Hua's cooking is definitely much better than yours."

Ma Hua glanced at the fat man but didn't say anything. The fat man was not only cunning and sly but also greedy. He was a perfect match for a shrew like Sha Zhu. The two of them were disgusting masters. They should be tied up and kept away from harming others.

The contrast between Ma Hua's group, who were laughing and chatting, and Sha Zhu and Fatty, who were looking worried in the kitchen, was stark.

Time flies, and before you know it, it's time to get off work. When Ma Hua finished eating at his mother's and returned to the courtyard, he saw his third uncle, Yan Bugui, watering the flowers at the gate.

He said he was watering the flowers, but he was really just standing at the gate, watching to see if there was anything he could take advantage of. When Yan Bugui saw Ma Hua return, he first looked Ma Hua's bicycle and hands over, finding them empty, and couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. But then he thought of something.

He greeted Ma Hua warmly, "Master Ma, are you off work?"

"Hmm, is Uncle San watering the flowers?" Ma Hua pointed to the flowers in front of Yan Bugui. These flowers had been killed by Yan Bugui's overwatering; now only a few dead branches remained in the pot. Yan Bugui was still pretending to water them—it was ridiculous.

Upon hearing Ma Hua's words, Yan Bugui's face flushed red, a rare sight for him. "These weren't flowers! I killed them by overwatering them. They were just a few tree branches I picked up while fishing. A fisherman never comes home empty-handed!"

"Ahem, Master Ma, be careful, Jia Zhangshi is back," Yan Bugui said mysteriously.

"Yes, I saw you on my way to work this morning," Ma Hua said, looking at Yan Bugui with a half-smile.

Yan Bugui frowned; the information was outdated. Then, as if remembering something, he smiled at Ma Hua and said, "Master Ma, you don't know this, but Jia Zhangshi is a notorious shrew in our courtyard. You'd better be careful. Also, it seems someone smashed your window."

Upon hearing Yan Bugui say that his window had been smashed, Ma Hua was furious. Who dared to do that? Then he saw Yan Bugui rubbing his hands together.

Ma Hua immediately took out two pieces of Cuban candy from his pocket and handed them to Yan Bugui: "Teacher Yan, please sweeten your mouth."

Yan Bugui's eyes lit up when he saw the candy. He snatched it from Ma Hua's hand, afraid that Ma Hua would regret it. This was candy! If it were put in a thermos, it would be enough for the whole family to drink sweet soup for several days.

Ma Hua wasn't angry. Instead, he took out the "Peony" cigarettes that the cafeteria manager had given him, pulled one out, and handed it to Yan Bugui: "Uncle, please have a cigarette."

Yan Bugui was stunned when he saw the brand on the cigarette pack: "Peony." He'd only seen it once before, through the principal. Good heavens, he'd underestimated Ma Hua! He immediately took the pack.

The two men lit cigarettes and began puffing away at the doorway. Yan Bugui took a puff and exclaimed, "This is really good cigarette!"

Seeing that Ma Hua was getting impatient, Yan Bugui hurriedly said, "I heard from the people in the courtyard that Bang Geng went to the backyard this morning. I mean, it seems so."

As Yan Bugui watched Ma Hua's departing figure, he stomped his foot, wondering if he had gotten into trouble again, but he didn't want to.

The MCA really gave too much. Thinking of this, Yan Bugui hurriedly ran home. Anyway, no one saw that he said it, and even if they did, he wouldn't admit it.

Ma Hua, his face grim, pushed the cart toward the backyard. Hearing the sound of a bicycle at the door, Jia Zhangshi immediately jumped out of bed, put on her shoes, and ran outside. Yesterday had been a terrible day for her; it was all that damned Ma Hua's fault.
