Qin Huairu saw Sha Zhu run out the door. She cried out in alarm. She had just paid such a high price to win over the two of them; she couldn't let them get hurt again. Xu Damao would still be very useful tomorrow.
At this moment, Xu Damao had no idea that he was about to be beaten up by Sha Zhu. He was still swaying as he leaned on the car and walked towards the backyard.
Qin Huairu's advances and the terrible mess she made of Sha Zhu in the restroom filled Xu Damao with immense joy. This was his biggest victory in all these years. Overjoyed, Xu Damao immediately treated a few familiar coworkers to a meal at a restaurant.
When Xu Damao arrived at his doorstep, he was stunned. Why was his house so dark? Lou Xiao'e, how could this woman be so lazy? Was she still sleeping? Damn it, Lou Xiao'e, you can't lay eggs, I'll divorce you sooner or later.
Before Xu Damao could even start cursing, he stepped on the shards of glass and realized that all the windows in his house were broken.
Fueled by alcohol, Xu Damao immediately launched into a tirade: "Who the hell dared to smash my window! Which bastard did this? Did he think I, Xu Damao, was easy to bully? Believe me or not, I'll kill you!"
Sha Zhu, who had rushed over in a rage, overheard Xu Damao's cursing. His eyes turned bloodshot, and without saying a word, he charged at Xu Damao. "Xu Damao, you bastard! This afternoon you not only humiliated me, but you even dared to curse my grandma! Good, very good indeed!"
Sha Zhu raised his right foot and delivered a flying kick to Xu Damao's back. Caught off guard, Xu Damao fell face-first to the ground. The broken glass on the ground cut Xu Damao's exposed skin, and blood gushed out instantly.
The moment Xu Damao was ambushed by Sha Zhu, he broke out in a cold sweat, and the effects of the alcohol wore off. As he fell, he looked at the broken glass on the ground in horror. He only had time to cover his face with his hands, but the glass shards pierced his hands hard.
"Ah, you idiot Zhu, why did you hit me!" Xu Damao lay on the ground in pain, howling. Only Zhu dared to beat him like that in the whole courtyard.
"Xu Damao, you bastard, how dare you insult the old lady! I'll see how you deal with this disrespectful old man. You're a disgrace to our compound."
At this moment, Sha Zhu still didn't forget to smear Xu Damao. How could Sha Zhu possibly admit that he was retaliating against what Xu Damao did that afternoon?
He had encountered injustice and stepped in to help; he had completely placed himself on the moral high ground.
Seeing this, Qin Huairu, who was following closely behind, immediately scolded Sha Zhu, "Zhu Zi, what are you doing?" My fish!
When Sha Zhu saw that it was Qin Huairu, he immediately dropped his fierce expression and said sheepishly, "Sister Qin, I was just teaching Xu Damao a lesson because I saw him scolding the old lady!"
"What a lesson! I'd like to know too, is this how you teach people a lesson? And what crime did Xu Damao commit that deserves such a beating from you, Sha Zhu!"
Ma Hua sneered, "This guy doesn't even respect the old lady. That old lady is even more vicious than Jia Zhangshi. What's there to respect?"
Not only did they smash Xu Damao's window without even asking what happened, but you, Sha Zhu, are also accusing him of disrespecting the elderly. How can you respect an elderly person like that? What happened?
People often say that old people become bad, and bad people get old. Bah! I think this old lady is both old and bad.
Ma Hua was busy in the small courtyard provided by the system when he suddenly heard Xu Damao shouting in the courtyard. He immediately ran over to check and saw that Sha Zhu not only kicked Xu Damao away but also accused Xu Damao of something.
Sha Zhu, Yi Zhonghai, and the deaf old lady—these three are exactly the same! They're practically from the same lineage. If I didn't know that Sha Zhu's father was He Daqing, I would have really thought that Yi Zhonghai was your father and the old lady was your mother.
Ma Hua shoved Sha Zhu aside and went straight to Xu Damao's side, asking with concern, "Brother Damao, are you alright?"
Although Xu Damao was lying on the ground groaning, when he heard that Ma Hua had scolded Sha Zhu for him and cared about him, he was immediately moved and said, "Brother Ma Hua, thank you so much. I just feel that my back and hands hurt a lot."
Ma Hua glanced speechlessly at the large footprint on Xu Damao's back. "How could your back not hurt? That idiot Zhu is really ruthless."
Ma Hua carefully helped Xu Damao up from the ground, only to find that Xu Damao had a scratch on his forehead and his neat Zhongshan suit was ripped to shreds by the glass on the ground.
Xu Damao glanced down at his clothes and felt thankful that it was cold and he was dressed warmly. He thought he would look terrible if it were summer.
Xu Damao angrily cursed at Sha Zhu: "Sha Zhu, you shameless bastard, why did you hit me!"
"Tell me why I hit you. It's because you disrespected the elderly. You tell me, didn't you deserve to be hit?" Sha Zhu felt a little better when he saw Xu Damao's disheveled appearance, and then a sneer appeared on his lips.
"Silly Zhu, I'm curious, you said Da Mao doesn't respect the elderly, when did he ever disrespect them?"
"You think you can just spout nonsense based on your own mouth, you idiot Zhu? Tsk tsk, no wonder I heard you ate shit in the toilet at the factory this afternoon. Tsk tsk, your mouth is spewing filth!"
Ma Hua's ambiguous gaze swept over Sha Zhu, and he pretended to smell something foul, taking two steps back and even waving his right hand in front of his eyes a few times with great seriousness.
"You," Sha Zhu was furious, but he dared not lay a hand on Ma Hua, and could only sulk like a clown.
"Isn't it enough that Xu Damao just cursed at me?!" The deaf old lady rushed to Xu Damao's courtyard upon hearing the commotion. She had heard Xu Damao cursing at her from inside the house, and the furious old lady immediately came out, leaning on her cane.
