Chapter 86 Guiding He Yushui

At this point, He Yushui had lost all hope for life. Perhaps it was all her fate, and she might just be the jinx that Jia Zhangshi had described.

"Sigh, are you resigned to your fate?" Ma Hua sighed inwardly, then looked at He Yushui.

He Yushui first shook her head, then nodded in disappointment. Given her current situation, what could she do but accept her fate? It was precisely because she understood her own circumstances that she studied so frantically.

All I wanted was a good job in the future, so I could leave this courtyard house someday. But all of that is gone, it's all destroyed.

"Have you gone to see He Daqing?" Ma Hua then asked He Yushui.

"Yes, my brother took me there when I was little." Hearing Ma Hua mention her father, a hint of sadness immediately appeared in He Yushui's eyes. He Yushui still remembered it clearly.

When she was little, she cried and begged her brother to take her to Baoding to find their father. She and her brother waited all night in front of their father's new house. It rained heavily that night.

I wasn't going there to ask for money, so why was it raining so hard? I just wanted to find my dad, but he didn't want me anymore. From that day on, I became a jinx, without a father or a mother's love.

"I asked about later. Did you go there later?" Ma Hua frowned. Could it be that Yi Zhonghai, that bastard, really didn't tell Sha Zhu and Yu Shui?

“No,” He Yushui shook her head. She had gotten used to life without her father for so many years, and moreover, she had been busy with her studies and later with her work. She was afraid that what happened last time would repeat itself.

Deep down, He Yushui truly longed for a father who would love her.

Just as Ma Hua was about to tell He Yushui the solution, there was a knock on the door.

"Ma Hua, are you home?" Lou Xiao'e asked from outside the door, deliberately lowering her voice.

"Please come in," Ma Hua said directly. He hadn't expected Lou Xiao'e to be so impatient.

Lou Xiao'e was stunned when she entered the room. She didn't expect He Yushui to be there, and He Yushui was obviously crying, her eyes were still red!

When He Yushui saw someone arrive, she quickly stood up. Then she wiped the tears from her face with her hands.

"Well, shall I come back later?" Lou Xiao'e asked tentatively. Although her face was expressionless, her inner gossip was burning fiercely. Didn't Ma Hua and Sha Zhu have a grudge? Why is Sha Zhu's sister coming to see Ma Hua?

"Don't overthink it," Ma Hua snapped at Lou Xiao'e.

"Then I'll be going now," He Yushui said hurriedly, intending to leave. She didn't want to talk about her affairs with anyone other than Ma Hua, especially Lou Xiao'e.

"Sigh, I advise you to go again soon. Remember, don't tell anyone. Go alone, quietly. Remember, don't tell anyone!" Ma Hua frowned, but still offered a solution.

She was still too soft-hearted and didn't want to see such a young girl walk down a dead end. He Daqing was obviously no good, so she let him have his headaches. She was leaving a lot of trouble for Sha Zhu, and she couldn't let He Yushui suffer along with him.

"Ah," He Yushui stopped in her tracks upon hearing Ma Hua's words, looking at him in disbelief. She understood the meaning behind Ma Hua's words. Could it be? No way, that's impossible.

He Yushui thought for a long time. Finally, she turned and bowed to Ma Hua, saying, "Thank you," before turning and leaving.

"What's going on? You two...?" Lou Xiao'e asked gossipy.

Hearing this, Ma Hua glared at Lou Xiao'e with annoyance, saying, "You're already in big trouble, and you're still being so gossipy."

"What's up, Sister Lou? What brings you to my humble abode today? You didn't happen to persuade me to save Xu Damao, did you? Sorry, I don't have that kind of ability,"

Ma Hua picked up the teacup on the table and drank it all in one gulp. He was really thirsty; his throat was parched after arguing with someone for so long.

"I didn't come here because of Xu Damao, I..." Lou Xiao'e still hadn't figured out how to start the conversation.

"Alright, it's nothing, then I won't see you out. Please!" Ma Hua stretched out his hand and pointed to the door, indicating that if Lou Xiao'e wasn't going to talk, she should get lost. He was busy and didn't have time to speculate.

"No, I just wanted to ask you if you know anything," Lou Xiao'e said cautiously. At the same time, her eyes were fixed on Ma Hua, as if trying to see through his thoughts.

"Chairman Lou asked you to ask, right?" Ma Hua didn't answer, but instead asked Lou Xiao'e. Seeing that Lou Xiao'e was about to retort, he simply waved his hand at her.

"Alright, you don't need to ask me to know. With your IQ, you couldn't possibly ask me this. It's not that I'm looking down on you," Ma Hua said with a light laugh, glancing at the sulking Lou Xiao'e.

"You," Lou Xiao'e was furious. How could Ma Hua be like this? She was so angry that he actually called her stupid.

"What do you mean, 'what'? What's wrong? Tsk tsk, I didn't expect that the famous Lou Bancheng is nothing more than this. Just talking nonsense and trying to get something for nothing? Tsk tsk tsk," Ma Hua said sarcastically.

"You will be richly rewarded after this is done," Lou Xiao'e said, suppressing her anger as she recalled her father's dying words. Her family certainly didn't need such a paltry sum.

However, Chairman Lou did not tell Lou Xiao'e the second half of the sentence: if this young man was lying to her family, then her family's anger would not be something he could quell.

“The Tan Family Recipe,” Ma Hua said casually. As a chef, Ma Hua had long coveted this recipe. Although he had the amazing skill of being “smooth-tongued,” he couldn’t get his hands on Tan Family cuisine because of his status.

Don't be fooled by Sha Zhu's constant claims of his family's ancestral Tan family cuisine. That's just Sha Zhu trying to make himself look good. What are Sha Zhu's qualifications? He probably only knows how to recite Tan family recipes. Claiming he's cooked them before? That's nonsense. The ingredients are too expensive.

After all, learning more can't hurt. As for other external things like money, Ma Hua was more interested in recipes. Although Lou Xiao'e was someone he felt "uneasy about," he had no relation to the Lou family, so why should he tell them?

If I don't offer them something, they'll probably be uneasy. Besides, if I don't offer anything now, it'll be even more difficult after the Lou family runs away.

This time, Lou Xiao'e didn't argue back. Instead, she gave Ma Hua a strange look and then left.

After Lou Xiao'e left, Ma Hua immediately found a yellow shoulder bag, put the "milk cakes" she had just made inside, and planned to take them back for her parents to try.

After Ma Hua locked the door, he pushed his cart past the Central Court and saw Qin Huairu still washing clothes. Good heavens, your mother-in-law has been arrested, and you're still so diligent.

When Qin Huairu saw Ma Hua, she was taken aback at first, but then immediately smiled and said to Ma Hua, "Brother Ma Hua, are you going out?"

Ma Hua ignored her; Qin Huairu was like a persistent nuisance, and he didn't want to get involved. Qin Huairu, seeing that Ma was still ignoring her, wasn't angry.

He then continued washing clothes with his head down. What was he afraid of? As long as Ma Hua and my cousin got along well, why would he be afraid of not getting any benefits in the future?
