Chapter 134 Chapter 134 The Land of the Shadow of Death (Part 2)
133
Mo Shiyu woke up in shock.
He looked around.
He was lying on the floor of a small bathroom, surrounded by damp and hot air.
The door not far from him was tightly shut. Next to him was a simple washbasin, and against the wall was a pristine white toilet. A leak somewhere had made the floor wet. When he got up from the ground, his clothes were soaked and stuck to him.
He tried to prop himself up, but his wrist sank.
jingle--
He turned his head and saw a scene that shocked him.
One of his hands was handcuffed to the water pipe under the sink, and the silver handcuffs gleamed coldly in the light.
Handcuffs...Mo Shiyu stood there in a daze.
He was like a prisoner, tortured in this small bathroom.
Why was he in such a place? He had no idea.
He seemed to have forgotten a lot of things.
He couldn't remember why he was locked in this cramped and dark bathroom.
It was so quiet that there was no sound at all.
He stood up with difficulty, pulled the handcuffs chain to the limit, raised his chin slightly, and finally saw himself in the mirror.
Her long ash-gray hair was scattered, messy like smoke.
His eyes were bloodshot, his face was pale, and there were large purple finger marks and bruises on his exposed neck, making him look extremely haggard.
Weird hair color.
He was frightened by the wound on his neck and took a half step back, pulling the handcuffs and falling to the ground. His fingers touched the floor, which was warm, like the skin of some animal.
I have to find a way to escape. This thought flashed through Mo Shiyu's mind.
He first tried to hook the door handle not far away, and he could barely touch it, but he couldn't open the door.
The door is locked.
He withdrew his hand in frustration, and this time he chose to search around for useful tools.
He noticed some clothes piled on the floor in the corner, including student uniforms, smooth windbreakers, and even a long red skirt. He turned over all the clothes and unexpectedly found a small key in the pocket of one of the windbreakers.
Could this be the key to leave the room?
The keyhole of the handcuffs was too small, and this key was obviously not the key to open the handcuffs. He stretched out his hand and tried to open the bathroom door lock.
The key was in the lock, but it wouldn't go in.
This is not the key to open the door.
Mo Shiyu's hand trembled as he reached for the keyhole, and the key fell to the ground.
What was unexpected was that the key changed color quickly after being stained by the water stains on the ground, from the ancient copper color to a bright red, as if it was stained with blood.
Just as I was amazed at this magical phenomenon, I suddenly heard footsteps approaching from afar.
With a bang, the door was opened.
He looked out in shock, only to see a man walk in.
The man had long eyebrows, narrow eyes and a deep face.
It is a beautiful, youthful face.
But when he lowered his eyes, his overly sharp hooked nose was like a portrait with alternating light and dark, which weakened the color of his eyebrows and eyes, leaving only this particularly sharp stroke that impressed people.
He approached step by step, his stature was tall, with a smile on his lips, but strangely, there was no smile in his eyes.
Mo Shiyu's hair stood on end when he was looked at. He shrank into the corner and looked at him with wide eyes hidden behind his messy hair.
"Are there any good people today?"
He lowered his head and smoothed his hair with a strange tenderness.
Who is it? Mo Shiyu stared into his dark eyes.
No matter how hard I searched my memory, there was no trace of this person, but my body was spontaneously resisting the touch of the person.
The man didn't show any surprise when he saw the handcuffs on his hands - it seemed that he was the one who imprisoned himself here.
The man then saw the key on the ground and bent down to pick it up.
"Did you use the key?" he said.
Mo Shiyu looked at the key in his hand that changed color, his pupils contracted slightly, as if he had sensed some ominous sign, and his body tensed like a rubber band.
The man waited for a few seconds, but when he didn't get any response from Mo Shiyu, he reached out to him.
The next second, Mo Shiyu felt a sharp pain in his scalp.
The hand grabbed his hair like an iron clamp and slammed him against the wall several times. There was a dizzying buzzing sound in his ears.
He lay on the ground and it took him a while to realize what had just happened.
"If you don't answer, then you're pregnant." The man looked at him lying on the ground and said softly, "You're unfaithful."
"You're cheating on me, baby."
Mo Shiyu gritted his teeth and propped himself up, staring at him intently, "What you're doing is illegal!"
The man laughed and squatted down. "You can avoid being beaten if you wait for me to come home. Why are you still thinking of running away? And why are you trying to make me angry?"
He reached out his hand towards him, as if wanting to touch his hair.
"..." Mo Shiyu seized the opportunity, grabbed the man's hand fiercely, and bit it hard!
There was no feeling of biting into flesh. This thought flashed through his mind.
He used such force that he could have bitten off the piece of meat, but the person on top of him didn't even contract any muscles, and his voice was calm and steady.
"Wrong."
Mo Shiyu curled up on the floor, a bloody feeling in his throat, and he couldn't help but cough violently against the floor.
Each of the man's strikes was filled with the force to crush someone, while Mo Shiyu's movements were restricted around the water pipe.
Can't avoid it.
"Now is the time to bow your head, apologize, and admit your mistake." The man wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Mo Shiyu couldn't comprehend the current situation. The shadow of death loomed over him. He only knew that if this continued, he would be beaten to death.
Apologize...for what?
Beat him for no reason, lock him up, and ask him to apologize?
An extremely angry and resentful emotion surged from deep within his body. Unbeknownst to him, his five fingers found the shards of mirror on the ground and sliced the man's calf. As he collapsed in pain, he straddled him and thrust the shards forcefully into his eyes, once, twice...
The blood splashed on his face, body, and eyes. It was not warm, but cold, with a strange pungent smell.
He was breathing heavily, staring blankly at the motionless body beneath him.
He killed someone.
He slowly realized this.
A wave of panic and despair came over me, and the shards of mirror fell from my trembling fingers.
Everything around him grew darker, and thick darkness enveloped him. Terrified, he kicked the corpse away and curled up, protecting his head and abdomen, until the light shone again on his closed eyelids.
He opened his eyes, and the scenery before him went from blurry to clear.
He looked around and found that he was floating in a treatment chamber filled with nutrient solution, with an oxygen mask on his mouth and nose. His body was helpless in the water. He struggled and groped, slapping the chamber wall randomly.
The walls of the treatment chamber contracted, and he fell to the ground. He tore off the oxygen mask on his face and choked on the bitter medicine.
He gasped for breath, and when he looked up, he saw several doctors in white robes approaching him. He instinctively stepped back, and one of them draped a white coat over him, the residual warmth from their body calming him down slightly.
"The treatment is over, Mr. Mo. Unfortunately," another doctor said, "the treatment failed."
Mo Shiyu looked at the other person, his expression changing from panic to numb indifference.
He stood up, scratched the restraints hanging from his wrists with his fingers, and walked out silently.
Outside the door was the hospital's decoration. A few patients were gathered at the corner chatting. When they saw him, they all let out a few ugly laughs, "The murderer has been released."
"He killed someone and was able to escape sentencing. He's really resourceful."
"If I were him, I would have been terribly guilty of killing my lover. How could I still be here at large? Maybe he made up his mental illness story to avoid jail."
Mo Shiyu walked past them with an expressionless face.
When he woke up in the hospital, he was told that he was a murderer who had killed his lover. However, because he was mentally ill, he was not imprisoned but sent to the hospital for treatment.
Mo Shiyu lowered his head. He only vaguely remembered that he had traveled through time, but what happened afterwards was a terrible headache every time he recalled it.
Time travel, murder, imprisonment, illness, these things all come at once, it would be a lie to say that it is not shocking.
But……
Suddenly a chocolate was stuffed into his hand. He reacted a little slowly, looking down at the candy in his hand, then looking up at the person behind him.
It was the doctor who put the coat on him.
He was very young, with light blond hair, dark skin, clear blue eyes, a calm expression, and handsome features, like an elf in a myth.
Mo Shiyu stared at him for a few seconds and opened his mouth, "Thank you."
There was always a bloody smell in his throat, and it was hoarse. It wasn't the kind of hoarseness that was unpleasant to the ear, but the itchy, morbid feeling that made one's heart feel as if sandpaper was scratching it.
He was wearing a blue and white striped hospital gown. He was very thin and looked haggard, but he was still calm, with a glimmer in his eyes.
"You're welcome."
The doctor gave him a friendly smile and said, "I'll take you home."
His smile was beautiful and restrained. Mo Shiyu looked at him and felt a slight movement in his heart.
He nodded.
"The murder scene was virtual. It will be different next time."
"Yeah." Mo Shiyu lowered his eyes.
The doctor looked at him, "Are you okay?"
Mo Shiyu shook his head, "I don't know."
"I roughly understand what you're saying. I just don't understand why I lost my memory." He stared into space and muttered, "I killed him and forgot about him. I'm such a bastard."
According to the doctor, every scene and every sentence reproduced in the scenario simulation reflects his subconscious mind.
In Mo Shiyu's subconscious, his spouse was a suspicious sadist who imprisoned him and hurt him, and he killed her in retaliation and self-defense.
However, according to the existing records, his spouse was an excellent partner and treated him well. Nothing in his subconscious experience ever occurred between them.
The reason why he brutally killed the other person was because he suffered from severe 'paranoia'.
He imagined that his spouse wanted to harm him, so he killed him.
"I don't know what kind of person he is. All I see is his subconscious illusion. He is vicious, violent, and completely unattractive. How could he be my spouse?"
The blond doctor silently turned his head to avoid the surveillance camera above his head. With great difficulty, the corners of his mouth only moved up 1 degree and he reluctantly said a comforting word.
"This is a hospital. You just need to focus on treating the disease. As for the people and things that happened before, it might be a good thing to forget them."
After turning a corner, I arrived at the door of the ward.
"The next treatment will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow," the doctor said. "Before then, get some rest."
"good."
Mo Shiyu entered his ward, got on the bed, and looked back at the doctor.
The light-blond doctor held the door open with his hand and looked at him.
He didn't say a word, and his light blue eyes looked at him quietly. These eyes were so clear and beautiful, different from those of other patients and doctors here.
This may be the reason why Mo Shiyu is willing to communicate with him.
And at this moment, these eyes seemed to be silently telling him——
Keep going.
