The time came to eight hundred years ago when the Earth entered the era of divine mecha.
At that time, most civilizations on Earth were still in the dynasty feudal era, with low productivity and people depending on the weather for food. If there were floods or droughts, most people would not be able to get enough food.
Heng's story begins in a poor mountain village in Hexi.
On this day, Aniu simply buried the bodies of his parents who had died of illness. In order to raise money to handle their funeral affairs, he set out before dawn and rushed to the nearby town. He walked for most of the day, and finally arrived at the town when the sun was at its highest point in the sky.
The town market is named Juyangji, and is famous because of a well-known sheep farm on the edge of the town.
It is said that this sheep ranch is owned by the local prominent family Zhou, who have hundreds of strong servants and are considered to be local tyrants.
Aniu's goal is to sell himself and become Zhou's slave.
There was no other way. If there was a way to survive, he didn't want to sell himself into slavery.
But in this world, the poor don’t have enough to eat and the rich eat too much. In order to survive and to prepare for his parents’ funeral, he has no choice but to do this.
When he arrived at the mutton stall in the town market, the rows of bright red mutton racks hanging there made Ah Niu swallow his saliva continuously.
"Third Master, I am Chen Aniu from Chen Laoer's family. Do you remember me?"
There was not much business at this stall. A shirtless man was sitting on a bench, fanning himself with a palm-leaf fan to enjoy the cool air. Hearing this, he turned his head to look at the stall and saw a skinny boy of about sixteen or seventeen staring at him with longing eyes. He smiled.
"I remember you. What's going on at home today? Do you want to have some meat?"
"Third Master, if you don't want to buy meat, sell your body. I heard that you have a way to sell your body to the Zhou family."
The Third Master narrowed his eyes.
"Can't make ends meet?"
"Yes, it is."
"The Zhou family doesn't accept just anybody now. You won't get a good price if you sell yourself at this age. What can you do?"
"I can herd sheep and hunt tits."
Ah Niu patted his chest hard, making a thumping sound:
"Although I am thin, I am very strong. I can lift a sheep weighing more than 60 kilograms with one hand!"
"Who are you kidding!"
"Third Master, do you have anything heavy? I'll grab it and show it to you."
"Okay, then let's go to the table next to me. If you can hold on for a moment, I will introduce you to someone else."
On the table next to the Third Master was half a boneless mutton. The table was made of solid wood and was square. The surface of the table was covered with old blood stains, and there were still some minced meat in the cracks that could not be cleaned off.
Aniu estimated that the entire table, the mutton, the chopping board, and a few knives for chopping meat and bones might weigh more than thirty pounds.
To hold it up and maintain it for a quarter of an hour is much more difficult than lifting a 60-pound sheep with one hand.
What's more, although Ah Niu is gifted and has considerable strength in his skinny body, whether he can lift a 60-pound sheep with one hand is just bluffing. He has never actually tried it, but he just feels that he should be able to do it.
But since things had come to this point, he couldn't change his mind. He agreed and walked around the table to see if there were any suitable places to grab.
"Third Master, shall we get started now?"
"Yes, hurry up! If there are customers later, you can't put down the counter. You have to keep it for a moment. If you can do it, I will introduce you. Do you understand?"
"I understand. Thank you for the opportunity, Master San."
