Chapter 130 Farewell

Everyone sat around the table, chatting, rolling out dough and making dumplings—this was the kind of atmosphere Bai Shuang wanted.

Just as everyone was happily wrapping the dumplings, Bai Di's parents arrived.

During the day, bring out stools for them to sit on and pour a glass of water for each of them.

They looked somewhat unhappy when they saw everyone making dumplings.

Father: "You guys eat dumplings, your mother and I are going to run out of food."

Baidi: "We just delivered a week's worth of food the day before yesterday, and it's all gone before half the time has even passed?"

Is it your son or your grandson who's back?

Mother: "My eldest grandson has come back to visit."

Bai Di: "Take a look? And then eat and take it all?"

You can give it to me if you want, but you can go hungry yourself.

There are very few people passing through the checkpoint now, and we're not earning any food.

The white-haired mother looked at the dumplings.

Bai Di: "Don't look. My young lady made the dumplings with the dough and vegetables; it has nothing to do with you."

They then turned to Bai Shuang and the others, "Miss Bai?"

"Can you help my son and the others? They're not getting enough to eat at the base every day."

White frost, ...

Bai Di: "I can't help. What does their hunger have to do with my young lady? Don't waste your time."

Father: "How dare you speak to your elders like that?"

Bai Di: "You already gave me to the Bai family back then and received their money, so you are no longer my elders."

\"you……"

Bai Jiu: "Stop talking, or my young lady won't let you eat dumplings."

For whatever reason, the elderly couple finally fell silent.

Seeing that Bai Di's parents were in good spirits and spoke with a strong voice, Bai Shuang knew that Bai Di was all bark and no bite; although she was stubborn, she was usually very good to her own parents.

Unfortunately, her parents were not clear-headed and also favored sons over daughters.

When Bai Di's parents finished eating the dumplings and went back home, they were given some food during the day, but not much, just enough for a few days. They were also told that if they gave it away again, there wouldn't be any left.

After staying at Bai Di's house for two days, Bai Shuang and the others left.

Although we are all reluctant to part, we still have to separate eventually. I hope we will both be well when we meet again.

Before leaving, I left them half of the homemade guns and shotguns I had collected earlier, as well as two submachine guns, two pistols, and several boxes of ammunition that I had seized from the Wolong Society.

They were also told how to make shotgun shells.

Although homemade guns are inferior to regular firearms in all aspects, shotgun shells can be made at home.

Regular firearms and ammunition are expensive; where can you buy more once you run out?

They had walkie-talkies during the day, but they were out of power, so Bai Shuang left them two hand-cranked generators that Bai Jiu had made earlier.

And they were told that after the extreme heat, there might be mutated insects, mutated animals, and even a plague.

They were reminded to act according to their own judgment. By the time the weather gets extremely hot, the child will be almost two years old. They could stay in the mountains if they could, and if not, they could go to the base. The information about the base that they had learned from Lu Yu was also given to them.

Fortunately, their village has cars and fuel.

Bai Shuang never told them about going to Xishan to stockpile coal, because once she did, it would cause a lot of problems, so it was better not to tell them.

During the day, Bai Di, Bai Shuang, Bai Jiu, and Bai Chang embraced each other affectionately, saw them off to the roadside, and watched them leave until they were out of sight before turning around and going home.

The group walked quite a distance before releasing the snow leopard and the monkey king, only to find that the two were still arguing.

The monkeys felt like they were entering paradise as soon as they entered the space, where there was fruit, grain, bird eggs, and bamboo shoots everywhere...

When it first arrived, the animals dared not provoke it, so it went to pick the fruit it liked to eat. But before it even reached the tree, the vicious dog pounced on it, baring its teeth.

Once, while the vicious dog was asleep, it quietly walked up to the banana tree. Before it could even reach out its paw, the vicious dog came running towards it, barking wildly. It was so frightened that it ran away as fast as it could.

That's awful! It will never help that vicious dog again, even though it used to fetch things for it all the time.

But the snow leopard thought to itself, "With me here, you can forget about stealing my master's things."

Therefore, dogs are the most loyal, while monkeys are cunning. Bai Shuang wouldn't feel at ease leaving a monkey alone in the space.

It's not that I'm afraid it will eat, but I'm afraid it will hide things everywhere and ruin them.

The journey was smooth today, and it took about four hours to get out of the Daling Mountains. At this point, the Yellow River was right in front of us.

After crossing the Yellow River, you'll reach Yuncheng in Shanxi Province. At this point, you don't need to cross the Yellow River Bridge; everywhere is covered in ice and snow, and snowmobiles can drive directly across the ice and snow.

But after the car drove a while further on, and roughly onto the riverbed, we saw a large group of people gathered together doing something.

Curious, the group drove over to take a look.

Then I saw someone driving a bulldozer, pushing the snow away layer by layer, and then someone else went over to chisel the ice.

Bai Shuang and the others were far away when they saw that no one was around. They put away the car, as it would be too conspicuous to bring a snow leopard and a monkey into an unfamiliar place, so they put them into their space as well.

The three of them walked over, only to find that there were guards at the entrance.

They said that if you wanted to catch fish in the area where they had cleared the snow, you had to give them half of the fish.

Only then did Bai Shuang and the others realize that they were actually fishing! Bai Shuang once again admired human wisdom and survival skills.

Bai Chang stepped forward and inquired, "Can you catch any fish?"

"Yes, Yellow River carp are very plump and delicious."

The Yellow River carp is one of my country's four famous fish, renowned both at home and abroad for its golden scales and red tail, long body, tender flesh, and delicious taste.

"What if we don't manage to get it?"

"It's okay if we don't catch it. If we do, we can have half of it."
