Chapter 6 Alma Mater

"Bai Shuang, you're here! It's so good. I feel so lost without you."

She is Yu Wenwen, one of Bai Shuang's biggest fans.

Bai Shuang's lips curled slightly. "I'm also very happy to see you, but I have some bad news for you."

I still have some things to take care of at home, so I need to take some time off.

"Ugh! I just met you, and now I have to leave again," Wenwen's face immediately fell.

"I'll come to class after I finish my errands. Besides, you can come visit me anytime you have time."

Wenwen cheered up again.

"Bai Shuang is here! Let's go play together later..."

"Bai Shuang, I've finally seen you..."

Bai Shuang responded to each of them. She was very popular at school. Along the way, she was greeted by familiar classmates from time to time, but there were many she didn't know.

After registering at the registration desk, I went to the teaching affairs office to ask for leave.

"Have you heard? Her mother passed away..."

People on the street were also whispering about her mother's death.

Bai Shuang ignored it. As long as it's not excessive, people can say whatever they want; what right do they have to control what others say?

Upon arriving at the teaching office, Bai Shuang told the teacher that she had family matters to attend to and needed to request a month's leave.

Teacher Fan, the director of the teaching affairs office, knew about Bai Shuang's family situation and approved it quickly.

The teachers knew that she came from a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, had a solid foundation in traditional Chinese medicine, and that her family was very wealthy, but in their previous interactions, they saw her hard work and dedication.

Teacher Fan has asthma, and Bai Shuang specially left him several boxes of Bai's Asthma Relief Capsules.

To be honest, these teachers all took good care of Bai Shuang. They almost always helped her with any questions she had or any books she needed to borrow.

Bai Shuang cherishes this school and hopes they will be safe and sound when natural disasters strike.

As soon as I got out of the school gate and into the car, my phone rang. It was the real estate agent calling.

There's a client offering 18 million for the villa, which is actually quite low. A 600-square-meter villa is currently worth 18.8 million on the market, but it's an urgent sale, so it's still within an acceptable range.

They went through the formalities, received the money, and promised to move out within a week.

Back at the villa, after lunch, Bai Shuang wanted to rest for a while. Lying on the bed, she entered her spatial dimension and found that time had increased again.

Stepping into the warehouse, I was reassured by the neatly arranged medicines, medical equipment, and instruments in the medical area.

To save storage space, the cooked food is stored in the bedroom of the villa.

Mint and mugwort grow very quickly.

It seems that the space only has daytime and no night, and the temperature is suitable for plants to grow, with a growth rate more than twice as fast as outside.

That's great! Now, no matter how bad the outside environment is, we won't have to worry about food.

At 1:30 pm, Bai Tian called to say that all the goods had been installed.

"Thank you for your hard work. Next, please help me collect various medicinal herb seeds. You don't need too many of each kind, but try to collect as many varieties as possible, and make sure they are all nicely packaged."

Bai Shuang knows that there are many kinds of Chinese medicine. Just the plant medicinal species alone number nearly 5,000, of which more than 500 are commonly used. Moreover, the seeds of many precious medicinal herbs are very expensive.

Pay 5 million upfront, and we'll make up the difference later.

Money really doesn't last long. In less than two days, the more than 50 million yuan I had, plus the money from selling the house, is almost gone.

At 2 o'clock, Bai Shuang drove to Warehouse No. 1, as the time for the meal order from yesterday had arrived.

When she arrived at the first restaurant, the owner clearly took her seriously; the food had already been packed up, all freshly made and of excellent quality. Bai Shuang paid the balance and the deposit for tomorrow's reservation.

Two employees helped load the truck, and Bai Shuang gave each of them a hundred-yuan tip, which they thanked happily.

Bai Shuang got into the car, waved to close the entrance space, and then went to collect the food from the second and third restaurants in the same way.

Opening the door to Warehouse No. 1, Bai Shuang saw that the shelves were very sturdy; the 500,000 yuan hadn't been wasted. She waved her hand and put the items into her spatial storage.

Just as Bai Shuang was about to go to the wholesale market, her Uncle Li called to tell her that all the Western medicines and medical supplies had arrived, and that he had also purchased 5 million yuan worth of Western medicines from a certain Thai company.

"Okay, I understand, thank you for your hard work!"

"Uncle-Master, please do one last thing for me: collect various medical texts. You can decide on the specifics yourself."

He also gave his uncle an additional 7 million yuan.

Let's go to the hospital first, get the medicine ready, and then go home. Bai Shuang doesn't want to stay there tonight.

Passing by a barbecue restaurant, Bai Shuang felt hungry, so she parked her car and went inside.

"Boss, give me two of each." Bai Shuang didn't even look at the menu, and tried each one first.

Before the store even opened, a customer arrived, and the owner was naturally delighted. "Alright, have a seat, it'll be ready soon."

The aroma of barbecue wafted through the air, and soon grilled chicken gizzards, squid, prawns, chicken wings, pickled mustard greens, and several kinds of vegetables were served.

After taking a bite, I found it crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the seasoning was very flavorful, just what Bai Xue liked. Before I knew it, I had eaten several skewers.

"Boss, it tastes great, I'll bake all the ones you prepared and pack them up."

The shop owner gave a thumbs-up. "You have good taste. This skill has been passed down for generations. But you'll have to wait two hours; I've prepared quite a lot tonight."

Bai Shuang agreed since it was still early, knowing that the advantage of waiting was that she could get something fresh.

After each batch was baked, Bai Shuang would deliver it to the car and store it in her spatial storage. After that, she would order the next batch of food, pay three thousand yuan, and then leave.

Although barbecue is greasy and smoky, and not good to eat too much of it, it's okay to treat yourself to it occasionally.

Upon arriving at the hospital and entering the warehouse, seeing the piles of Western medicines and medical equipment, Bai Shuang felt much more at ease. Coming from a family of pharmacists, she had a natural affinity for these things.
