Since this is their profession, Bai Shuang won't take flattery too seriously. "Do you have any jade? If you see any jade in the future, please collect it for me."
If you have papermaking tools, give me another set.
Jade can expand space. The jade reserves in Bai Shuang have been used up, except for some top-quality pieces, which will be used for other purposes later. As for papermaking tools, with so many people in the military camp, it would be faster to open several production lines.
"Oh, sister, I actually have jade here. But I don't have papermaking tools readily available; I'll have to look for them."
As he spoke, he took out a large box, opened the lid, and Bai Shuang used her hands to sense the contents. Most of them were genuine, but none were top-quality. She then picked out two fake ones.
"Sister is actually a master!"
Bai Shuang: "How do we exchange these jade pieces?"
These jade pieces, if placed before the disaster, would have been worth nearly 100,000 yuan in total. However, this is the apocalypse, and the jade they brought in should be very cheap.
If it's 300 jin of rice or flour, it would be 500 jin of sweet potatoes or potatoes.
"Give me the real price!"
"Sister, you can't let us lose money, can you?"
Bai Shuang nodded, "Your costs are worth at most 100 jin of refined grains. I'll give you 200 jin of refined grains or 400 jin of sweet potatoes and potatoes."
The fat man nodded. "Sister, you're amazing! This price is exactly the bottom line the boss gave me."
As he spoke, he rummaged through his bag a couple more times and pulled out two pieces of glass-type jadeite. "What about this one? What price can you offer, sister?"
Bai Shuang touched it with her hand, and the energy fluctuations were indeed larger than before. Thinking that she would need it again in the future, she couldn't keep the level too low. "I don't want to shortchange you, so I'll give you 60 jin of fine grains in total."
The fat man nodded. "Could we add a little more?"
\"cannot.
Fatty: "You're still the best, alright."
"I'll take the jade; the grain will be delivered to you later."
Having dealt with each other many times, they trusted each other quite a bit. Bai Shuang and Bai Jiu turned and left, preparing to find a secluded place to release the grain.
"Shuangshuang."
Bai Shuang turned around and saw Wenwen. Her stall was 30 meters away from the fat man. She was wearing a black down jacket and was shivering a little in the cold wind. Her boyfriend was standing next to her.
Wenwen saw Bai Shuang and ran over.
Wenwen seemed even thinner than the last time she was seen, and her face had turned sallow. However, she had managed to withstand the extreme cold and was standing there unharmed, which relieved Bai Shuang.
"Are you selling mushrooms? Do you have any more at home?"
Wenwen nodded.
Bai Shuang: "I've found you jobs growing mushrooms at the research institute. Would you like to go?"
"Really? Yes, yes, we're willing to go. As long as you provide food and lodging, we don't need any other compensation."
Shuangshuang, we're quite skilled at growing mushrooms now.
Bai Shuang: "Once you're skilled at growing mushrooms, you can go talk to Dr. Liu or Director Wei first. Just say Dr. Bai sent you."
As she spoke, Bai Shuang handed her the address. "Go now, and sell me the mushrooms."
Wenwen was very excited, and suddenly the weather didn't seem so cold anymore. "Okay, Shuangshuang, thank you so much!"
In the apocalypse, finding a job is very difficult.
As they spoke, the group walked toward Wenwen's stall, and Wenwen handed the basket to Bai Shuang.
"Wenwen, how much food did you get?"
Wenwen: "You helped us find jobs, and you always patronized our business before. This is nothing, just consider it a thank you. You don't need to give us food."
"That won't do!" Bai Shuang took out five jin of rice from her backpack, but Wenwen insisted on returning half of it.
It's rare to find someone who still maintains their original aspirations in this apocalyptic world.
Finding a secluded spot, Bai Shuang took out the old grain she had collected from the black market and put it on the sled, asking Bai Jiu to deliver it to Fatty. Then the group took the snowmobile back.
Back in Building C, as they passed the 14th floor, they encountered a mother and daughter standing by the window looking out. When they saw Bai Shuang and the others going upstairs, the woman immediately came over.
"Sister, can I have a coat? I'm cold," she said, turning her gaze to Bai Jiu and the other woman.
Bai Shuang and the others ignored them and continued walking forward.
Bai Jiu: "It's so cold, why aren't you staying home? Why are you looking out the window?"
After they left, the mother quickly pulled her daughter up, saying, "They've all left, who are you kneeling before now?"
If you're so capable, why don't you be like her, spending your days going out with men, eating and drinking the finest food and drinks?
If Bai Shuang heard this, she would probably give her a needle so she would never be able to speak again.
Bai Shuang and the others climbed to the 19th floor and went to 1901 to retrieve the snow leopard.
It was arguing with Bai Chang at that moment, refusing to eat the dog food with chicken that Bai Chang had given it, and insisted on waiting for Bai Shuang at the door.
Hearing a knock on the door, it whimpered and barked, and when the door opened, it pounced on Bai Shuang.
Bai Shuang hugged it, "Have you been naughty these past two days? There's a reward for being good."
Snow leopard, woof woof, be good, be good, I've always been good.
Bai Chang was both amused and exasperated. He would definitely let Bai Jiu stay at home next time, while he went out with Miss. That old dog was too difficult to please.
He stays at the door all day, doesn't eat properly when given food, and keeps giving him sidelong glances.
"Since you're being obedient, eat your food first, and then you'll get a reward."
The snow leopard obediently went to eat, and only then did Bai Shuang take out the reward she had given it: a bottle of pet food.
Bai Jiu looked at Bai Chang and asked, "Have you been comfortable at home these past few days?"
Bai Chang glared at him. "Comfortable, very comfortable, but next time it'll be your turn to feel comfortable."
Bai Jiu immediately shut up.
Bai Jiu wanted to eat pickled fish for dinner, but after a long day of cooking, she didn't want to make it herself. So Bai Shuang took out some that she had made before, along with rice and a few other dishes.
