Chapter 94 Miss Ling (1)

Before Bai Shuang could rest, and before some soldiers had finished eating their steamed buns, they heard a buzzing sound.

"Is there going to be another disaster?"

Then, the buzzing sound grew louder and even turned into a roar, and a helicopter landed on the snow at the entrance of the military camp.

Six people got off the plane: five soldiers and a young woman.

The woman was wearing a white Jones down coat, a light apricot beret, and her long black hair was loose under the hat. She wore light makeup.

She has a slender and graceful figure and a beautiful face.

Her fair and rosy face showed no trace of the apocalypse.

Bai Shuang: "Are there connections between the provinces and the base across the country?"

Lu Yu: "Yes, but there are very few communication devices currently; there's only one in each large area."

The communication device was developed by scientists based on the old-fashioned wired landline telephone.

"Lu Yu, I don't care what their relationship is with you. I don't want anyone to know my personal information, and I don't want anyone to know about my papermaking business here."

"Don't worry, this is my military camp, and I'm in charge of everything."

The men walked towards the military camp, raised their hands in salute to Lu Yu, and said, "General Lu."

Lu Yu returned the greeting, "Uncle Liang."

"Ah Yu!" the woman called out excitedly.

Lu Yu nodded. "Miss Ling."

Then they went into the military camp.

Having watched the excitement, Bai Shuang turned to leave; she had many things to do.

We still need to make arrangements for the new set of papermaking tools that were brought in.

I brought cucumbers and tomatoes to deliver to the kitchen. Today at noon, I'll be serving everyone tomato and egg soup.

As for those few people, they have nothing to do with me.

But Lu Yu saw through her intention. "Shuangshuang, help me entertain the guests."

In fact, Bai Shuang really didn't want to be with them, since she didn't know them, but she didn't want to offend Lu Yu in front of others.

So they stayed and went to the temporary living room with them.

Uncle Liang: "And who is this comrade?"

The woman next to Lu Yu, though dressed only in a military uniform and without any adornment, possessed an ethereal beauty and sharp eyes that immediately caught the eye.

It seems unlikely that bringing Lu Yu and Ling Qingyao together will be possible.

Bai Shuang and the other two always wore dark green military overcoats while in the military camp.

It's cold in the military camp, unlike at home where there's heating. Wearing these clothes is quite warm, and since everyone else is wearing the same clothes, it's easier to blend in and avoid unnecessary trouble.

Lu Yu: "She is my fiancée."

The group was taken aback, and Miss Ling's face suddenly fell.

Bai Shuang rolled her eyes at him. "Don't listen to his nonsense. We're just friends."

Hearing Bai Shuang say this, Miss Ling's expression improved slightly, but seeing how familiar Bai Shuang was with Lu Yu, she immediately felt jealous.

Uncle Liang was a little puzzled. "A friend? Isn't she your subordinate?"

Lu Yu: "No."

Lu Yu was unwilling to say more, and they didn't press him further.

"Uncle Liang, was the journey smooth?"

"It went fairly smoothly. The commander heard that you were injured and urged us to come and see you. So, we rushed over as soon as the snow stopped."

Oh, by the way, the commander asked me to pass on a message to you: he wants to hold his great-grandson soon.

Is he being pressured to get married? And his grandfather is really thoughtful, even sending women over.

At this moment, a guard brought in hot tea, and Miss Ling quickly picked up a cup and handed it to Lu Yu.

"Put it down. Little Feng (the bodyguard) can handle these things. Miss Ling, there's no need to trouble yourself."

Lu Yu: "How is Grandpa's health?"

Uncle Liang: "The commander is in good health, but with all the natural disasters happening these days, he's working too hard."

They chatted for a while, and then the guards, who had already prepared rooms, went to rest.

Bai Shuang first examined Lu Yu's wounds and changed his dressing.

At this moment, Lu Yu gave Bai Shuang a general explanation of the identities of the people who had just been there.

Uncle Liang was Lu Yu's grandfather's personal guard, and those soldiers were all Lu Yu's grandfather's subordinates, two of whom were pilots.

Although Bai Shuang was unwilling to pry into other people's affairs, she couldn't be blind and deaf and ignore what was happening outside.

"Your grandfather seems to be very capable."

Lu Yu's lips curled slightly upwards. "Don't you think I'm pretty amazing too?"

Bai Shuang rolled her eyes at him, "Starting to act all cocky again."

"Is Miss Ling your ideal woman?"

Lu Yu gazed at her, "You are the only white moonlight in my heart!"

"But I'm not thinking about dating right now."

After changing Lu Yu's dressing, Bai Shuang went to the ward to check on the wounds of the other soldiers. She also gave each of the wounded a cup of water mixed with spiritual spring water before leaving.

When she arrived at the paper workshop, the soldiers had already finished their drills and returned to their camp.

Bai Jiu and his companion, along with several paper mill workers, were selecting workers for a new production line. Snow Leopard was also there, sniffing this and looking at that.

The goofy soldier who wasn't selected saw Bai Shuang arrive, and his eyes lit up. "Fairy sister, there's still food to be had!"

"It's not like there's no food in the barracks."

"Of course not, it's just that the food here is the best, sister."

This soldier is a good person. It's just one more person to feed, and Bai Shuang doesn't lack that little bit of food.

"Okay, you can help clean the workshop."

"Thank you, sister!"

Suddenly, the snow leopard rushed into the distance, barking loudly...

Then came a commotion.

As Bai Shuang walked over, she saw several people standing in the stairwell leading to the paper mill.

It must have been arranged by Lu Yugang to prevent other people from entering the paper mill.
