002. Confrontation

002. Confrontation

002

I don't know how to describe the expression of Poseidon, the god of the sea. He suddenly lifted my chin with interest, as if he was looking at an object.

Although I don’t know how miserable and ugly this “object” of mine looks at this moment, I have no choice but to show my most moving smile to this despicable god who has hurt me in every way.

Even I despised the way I looked at that moment. I was like a dog sticking out its tongue to please others. The feeling was so disgusting that my stomach started to churn up and down. I was so disgusted that I wanted to wash my body over and over again.

But I knew I had to endure until I could escape the fate I saw, until I had the strength to resist it all.

As I was laughing, my eyes unconsciously fell on the statue behind Him.

My years of faith and my priestly identity had made me think that I was different to the goddess Athena...

But now I understand that even the most loyal ant is still an ant.

He probably would never have thought about what His inaction meant to me.

As one of the twelve gods on Mount Olympus, how could He not know what happened to me?

Yet, He just watched this happen quietly, and saw me being humiliated and defiled by the god He had an enemy of!

Not only that, in the future I saw, He not only cursed me to become a monster, but also ordered people to kill me?!

All of this makes me hate him even more than Poseidon, the god of the sea.

The pain in my jaw suddenly brought me back to my senses. Poseidon narrowed his eyes, his gaze filled with displeasure. "How dare you let your mind wander?"

I chuckled softly, retracting my gaze from his statue as I said calmly, "I was just wondering how the great goddess Athena would feel if she saw her priests betray her."

*

Poseidon looked at the priestess in front of him. Her azure eyes were filled with an emotion that he could not understand and was too lazy to explore. She just looked at him deeply with a reverent smile, as if she was truly conquered by his majesty.

This made Poseidon very satisfied, especially since she was a priestess of Athena. He only taught her a lesson, and she immediately lowered her head and submitted to him.

This made His eyes look a little bit admiring. To be honest, she was indeed beautiful and pure, and he could not bear to destroy her.

However, one side of his originally fair and smooth face was now swollen and red, his eye sockets were red, his bloodless lips were dry and flaky, a bloodstain meandered at the corner of his mouth, and his clothes could barely cover his body, making him look extremely disheveled.

But for Poseidon, the god of the sea, this actually aroused his brutal desire for destruction. He destroyed the most beautiful things in the world and drowned and swallowed everything with storms... This has always been Poseidon's favorite thing to do.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but loosen his hand, and his slender fingers turned to brush the blood at the corner of her mouth, rubbing it with his fingertips. The scarlet and sticky feeling made him gradually feel excited again.

But suddenly, Poseidon paused, and his blue pupils glanced to the side as if he sensed something moving behind him.

A halo of light suddenly illuminated the dark temple, and a noble, beautiful and resolute woman appeared out of thin air.

Poseidon darkened his eyes and broke the silence.

"You're finally here, Athena."

*

My fists suddenly clenched, but the pain in my palms was still not as severe as the piercing pain in my heart.

But at the same time, I have to admit that I was extremely shocked.

As a priestess of Athena, this was the first time I saw the coming of the goddess Athena. This is a miracle that humans can only encounter in their lifetime.

Even I have only vaguely heard of His oracles.

He appeared in a dim light, wearing a flowing, thin white gauze, revealing flawless white skin, eyes as bright as an owl's, and an imposing heroic air.

I used to think that the sculptor of the statue had used his superb craftsmanship to replicate the goddess's beautiful appearance, but after actually seeing Her, I realized how shallow my knowledge was.

At that moment, I even inexplicably wanted to cry. After all, that was the god I had believed in for many years.

Today I finally saw him. He was so elegant and graceful, and at the same time he exuded a heroic spirit.

But it happened after something like this happened.

Maybe... maybe what I saw in my trance was not necessarily my destiny. Did He appear here at this moment to save me?

I looked at Him eagerly, but He never looked at me.

The beautiful and sacred voice was extremely distant. "I am indeed deeply sorry for my priest's betrayal, venerable Poseidon."

"And your adulterous behavior is a provocation and disrespect to me, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war, and art. It also defiles the purity of this holy place!"

He changed his tone, "But I know that as the ruler of the ocean, you would never casually commit such a despicable act in the temple of the God-King's daughter. I believe that it must have been my shameless priest who tricked you into doing such a thing. This was definitely not your original intention."

Late at night, the fog in the air grew thicker, and I suddenly felt damp and cold all over my body, down to the very bones.

After a brief pause, He finally turned His gaze to me.

"As for you, as a priestess of the goddess of chastity, your debauchery and shamelessness are simply disgusting. You are no longer worthy of being my priest..."

Perhaps because she felt extremely disgusted and disdainful about everything that had happened before, even the goddess who was always high and mighty could not hide her calmness and used such harsh words to describe me.

"I will curse you..."

At this moment, all my anger strangely subsided and quickly disappeared, perhaps because I had completely lost all hope in them, in justice, and in fairness.

His words made me suddenly realize that what Poseidon, the god of the sea, said in my ear when he was hurting me was indeed true.

Of course Athena knew that there was discord between them. While she was trying to excuse the god of the sea, she was actually belittling Poseidon and implying that he was despicable.

But she really couldn't do anything for me, because the king of gods Zeus would not want to see his daughter and brother in conflict, which would threaten his rule; and also because I was just a small priest who was ignored by everyone.

"I curse you..."

And it is precisely because I see everything clearly that I don’t care about anything anymore.

So, I reached out again, hugged Poseidon's strong thighs in a manner that would have seemed absolutely shameless to Athena, and leaned my head slightly on them.

My voice was still hoarse, and I looked up at Him with a tearful expression, "My respected Poseidon, God of the Sea, I thought our union would be blessed by the goddess Athena, not to mention that she is the daughter of your brother, the God King Zeus. I never thought our existence would anger Him so much. It's all my fault..."

I felt Poseidon's thigh stiffen. At the same time, the goddess in front of me frowned slightly, but her eyes looked at me calmly, as if she was looking at a dead person.

I knew that my words were beyond their expectations and made Athena dissatisfied, but I still couldn't help but give a subtle smile to my former goddess.

Although Poseidon, the god of the sea, has suffered a lot at the hands of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, Poseidon is, after all, the ruler of the ocean and the brother of his father, the King of Gods. What qualifications does Athena have to curse me over Poseidon?

This is a blatant slap in Poseidon's face.

Of course, I knew I was taking a risk, but I had no choice.

As her priest, even if I am an ant, I am the one who knows her best. After all, Athena is the goddess of wisdom and war. Born from the head of the king of gods Zeus, her power cannot be underestimated, and she is even slightly stronger than the god of the sea Poseidon.

But since she doesn't dare to attack Poseidon openly, she must have some reservations. I just hope that this reservation will help me escape the fate of being cursed by him.

What I didn’t expect was that Poseidon, the god of the sea, finally spoke.

"My dear Athena, why are you so angry?"

He chuckled with delight and stroked my head like a dog.

I pursed my lips tightly, afraid that my trembling lips would reveal even a hint of unwillingness.

"Olympus thrives because of reproduction, just as your father is so powerful."

"I really like you, a beautiful and sweet-talking priestess. Maybe you'll even give birth to my children in the future. I really don't understand. Are you angry because you're jealous that she no longer has to endure the same hardship of chastity as you?"
