Poseidon, the god of the sea, looked at the beautiful but wary Medusa in front of him. He did not feel much displeasure or anger at her distrust. On the contrary, this was all within his expectations.

Yes, Medusa's offense made Poseidon furious and even a little frustrated.

He was determined to make Medusa bow her proud head to him, so that when he got tired of playing with her, he would make her pay a heavy price.

Poseidon rarely shows tenderness to anyone, not even his wife or lover, because as a god of extremely high status, he has no need to show pity to any woman unless she is his mother or sister.

But when facing Medusa, He regained enough patience.

Just like a good hunter, it will slowly numb the prey's psychology, gradually let the other party relax its vigilance, and then kill it with one blow at the most relaxed and happy moment.

Even a powerful being like Poseidon had to admit that Medusa did require more effort to conquer than other women. This rather interesting challenge made the lust in his heart gradually burn like a tiny spark, and it became more and more intense.

However, just when He thought Medusa would refuse, her expression changed slightly. She raised her long and graceful eyebrows and asked in surprise, "You want to divorce your wife Amphitrite and marry me?"

Poseidon said this intentionally. He could make a promise to any woman sincerely when he was in love, even to the stars in the sky, but it was not certain when it would be fulfilled.

Especially when facing Medusa, it was just to make her lose herself in the confusion.

Seeing Medusa frown, He raised his thin lips and lowered his handsome face to look at her, "Why, are you... serious?"

He narrowed his eyes and suddenly chuckled in joy, as if mocking her naivety and stupidity, but Poseidon changed the subject and brought another guarantee that was difficult to verify.

"Although I cannot allow you to replace the Queen of the Sea, I allow you to be the mother of my children, my lover, and be under my protection—"

"But I want your willingness."

"Or..." He lifted up Medusa's delicate face, and her captivating blue eyes looked up at him, "You still want to escape fate until now?"

Medusa lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly. Her expression, which had been turbulent, quickly calmed down. "Respected Poseidon, I've already told you that I accept my fate. I don't understand why you're still obsessed with this issue."

However, although Medusa said this, Poseidon, the god of the sea, clearly saw the flame in her eyes, which was still burning, and her unwillingness always existed.

He chuckled, reached out his hand and pressed her head hard, as if trying to extinguish the fire, a fire that humans were not supposed to possess.

At this moment, a trace of pain flashed across Medusa's face again. The force pressing down on her head almost broke her neck, but even so, she still did not bend her slender back, and still tried her best to straighten her chest despite the obstruction of the gods.

But Poseidon didn't really use any force. He quickly and casually withdrew the force he had applied to her head, then held her face tenderly, his tongue rubbing against the roof of his mouth as he opened and closed, muttering, "That's good... I hope you won't suffer any more unnecessary harm. I truly... accept my fate."

Although he was speaking extremely ambiguous words, he stretched out his tone, and the deep voice brewing in his throat made Medusa shudder.

He also carried threats amidst his hypocrisy and inducements. After all, in his eyes, as an ordinary woman, one or two times might be considered innocent, but too many times would become annoying.

Poseidon is both contradictory and ruthless. A woman can be interesting and stubborn enough, but she cannot over-exert his patience.

Otherwise, He would probably get tired of this game early and destroy her directly.

I stayed in the palace of Poseidon as I wished. Even though the nymphs serving him saw me, they ignored me. Poseidon was very busy and seemed to have forgotten me after that. He never came to see me again, but this was enough for me.

As the god of the sea, Poseidon's duty was to ride his golden chariot and bring fresh springs to the earth; when he was in a good mood, his appearance would calm the turbulent waves.

Poseidon is basically on the sea when performing his duties. He does not spend much time away from the ocean completely, and the opportunities are rare.

But I couldn't imagine that the opportunity would come so quickly.

At this moment, I noticed that the nymphs were busy and nervously preparing gorgeous clothes for Poseidon, the god of the sea. As the master of the ocean, there was no need for him to be so grand in his own territory, and he did not need to be so majestic in front of the humans who believed in him.

Therefore, I guess that he is most likely going to Mount Olympus for a banquet, facing all the gods. As the god of the sea whose status is second only to Zeus, he certainly cannot be underestimated.

The more I thought about it, the more it made sense, so I turned and swam outside the palace, intending to swim to the deepest sea as soon as I found Poseidon leaving the ocean - which was also my destination, where Pontus was.

Compared to the marine creatures that already live in the ocean, I swim very slowly, so I have to swim as fast as possible without wasting any time.

The nymphs don't really care about me, but I'm afraid they'll mention this to Poseidon and arouse his suspicion, so I hope to avoid them as much as possible.

Fortunately, the nymphs were circling around Poseidon, the god of the sea, and had no time to care about me, so I easily came to a thriving coral reef outside the palace. Unless it was some marine creatures, it would be difficult for the nymphs in the distance to find me, not to mention that I was just admiring the beautiful and colorful underwater scenery at this time. No one would have thought that I was actually secretly watching every move of the palace.

I don’t know how long it took, but it was so long that my tense nerves began to feel tired.

Suddenly, Poseidon, the god of the sea, appeared in gorgeous and solemn clothes. He drove a magnificent white chariot from the bottom of the sea to the sea level. Behind him came Amphitrite, the queen of the sea, and Triton, the son of Poseidon, as well as other nymphs and many sea creatures.

I subconsciously looked up and was clenching my hands nervously when I saw that the tall figure pulling the rope seemed to have noticed something. Although the distance was very far, he suddenly turned his head, and his lazy eyes seemed to be just a casual glance down from a high place, but it happened to fall on me.

The smile at the corner of my mouth seemed to tell me that He knew all my every move.

For a moment, I was so scared that I dared not move, for fear that the ruler of the seabed would notice something.

But soon, He withdrew His gaze from me, and the next second, the golden chariot carried Him out of the originally calm sea. Amidst the chaotic and turbulent waves, He completely disappeared from my sight.

At the same time, I began to swim hard towards the end of this underwater plain. The water flowed around me. As I got closer and closer to my destination, the undercurrent surged more and more, as if it was eager to take me into this bottomless trench.

Last time I didn’t swim so fast and was careful enough, but this time, I didn’t care about so much. When I reached the edge of the dark and deep trench, my whole body jumped directly into the turbulent water.

“Gulp gulp—”

My body began to roll and fall, as if it was completely swallowed by the huge darkness. The already dim light above me became farther and farther away from me, emitting a terrifying smell.

I don't know if I can successfully return to the bottom of the sea before Poseidon comes back, but I really have no choice. Poseidon is not someone who can be easily deceived by a mortal like me. Even if I can, it will definitely be an extremely difficult road.

Thinking of this, I flipped my body flexibly in the water, head down with my hands clasped together, trying to reach the bottom of the trench faster.

However, the further I swam downstream, the greater the downward resistance became, as if an invisible hand was lifting me up and trying to get me away from here.

Bubbles kept coming out of my mouth and nose, and I was almost suffocating from the sudden increase in water pressure and resistance. Veins bulged on my white arms, but I still kept swimming downwards.

At this moment, my firm belief in finding Pontus allowed me to persevere in this situation, but I could still clearly feel that my weak strength was about to disappear under such obstacles. Not only that, my brain began to become chaotic and lacked oxygen, and I was on the verge of pain.

Just when I thought that my exploration was doomed to fail, suddenly a light suddenly lit up in front of my eyes, as gentle as a mother's embrace holding me in her arms. The water pressure around me slowly disappeared, and brought me from the high water surface to the bottom of the trench.

"I am Medusa. Are you the great sea god Pontus?"

My eyes couldn't adapt to the light yet, and all I saw was a ball of white light, but even so, I still asked anxiously.

"I'm not," a gentle and kind female voice sounded. "I'm Thalassa, the sea goddess, and I also happen to be Pontus' wife."

Not long after, I adjusted to the light and finally saw this gentle and lovely goddess.

"My husband Pontus has long known your intentions, but he does not want to fight Poseidon, the god of the sea, or even the other gods involved because of you, so he refuses to help you."

My heart skipped a beat and I just stared blankly at Tarasa in front of me.

It took me a while to feel as if I were falling into an icy cave. Despair crept up my scalp, and it felt numb.

"But I don't care about that. Especially since I don't want to see you—my grandchild, an innocent girl—suffer such a horrible and tragic fate. So... I decided to do my best to help you."
