Rain Bell (Part 4)
Ji Qingzhou had a splitting headache, and the left side of her body and arm was numb and without feeling. It felt like something was pressing on her chest.
The familiar furnishings came into view, and he looked down to find the source of the pressure.
An Yi tilted her head slightly upwards, leaning against him, with half of her body resting on him.
He went to a bar yesterday and ran into Han Fei. Later, he seemed to get drunk and saw An Yi's blind date.
Another blind date!
Ji Qingzhou felt a sharp pain in her skull and tightly closed her eyes. How come she had so many blind date prospects?
An's eyelashes trembled slightly as her gaze met Ji Qingzhou's.
Yesterday, Ji Qingzhou fell to the ground, and she went to help him up.
He grabbed her face and started kissing her on the lips.
Ji Qingzhou is usually very measured in her actions, and even if some of her behaviors are not her intentions, she will not go too far.
Yesterday, she almost suffocated.
It took her a lot of effort to push him away; she simply didn't have the strength to help him up.
She was so tired that she didn't want to move, so she simply slept through the night.
"Good morning," she greeted, her voice a little hoarse.
Ji Qingzhou was still a little dazed and replied without thinking, "Good morning."
Neither of them was fully awake. An sat up and took a moment to recover before getting up and saying, "I'll go wash up first."
The sound of running water was heard in the bathroom.
Ji Qingzhou glanced in that direction, then turned her gaze back to the ceiling.
His pupils suddenly dilated as he stared at the ceiling; he thought he had kissed her yesterday!
It seems like they kissed for a long time!
Ji Qingzhou's brain went blank, and after a series of blanks, she got up and went to the bedroom to change her clothes.
An had just finished washing up when the doorbell rang.
Kong Yue arrived and brought breakfast for An.
Kong Yue asked her if she wanted to have lunch together today, as she was free.
Ann had refused and lay on the floor all night, feeling like she hadn't slept at all; she wanted to rest.
Kong Yue didn't say anything; she took out the breakfast and set it out.
She asked An about her recent work situation and then brought up Huai Chuan's matter.
An already believed that she, Kong Yue, and Huai Chuan had made everything very clear about this matter.
She interrupted Kong Yue, saying she didn't want to talk about it.
Kong Yue decided to cut to the chase and asked An Yi directly, "Are you dating Ji Qingzhou?"
An opened her mouth as if to say something, but Kong Yue continued, "I advise you to tell me the truth. The smell I smelled here today is the same as the one Ji Qingzhou smelled here last time."
Kong Yue was very confident in her nose; she could even distinguish the difference between strong medicinal ointments.
An had already stood at the bedroom door and keenly noticed the sound of the door about to open.
She casually placed her hand on the handrail, but in reality, she was pulling the door shut to prevent the people inside from coming out.
Since Kong Yue has been so straightforward, there's no need for her to hide anything anymore.
She readily admitted, "Yes."
Kong Yue took a deep breath to suppress her anger, "You have to break up with him!"
Faced with Kong Yue's attitude, An remained calm. "Mom, it's not up to you to decide whether I break up with him."
"You just can't be with him! Have you forgotten what your father did?"
An no longer wanted to talk about the past; it was pointless.
“It’s not up to you to decide who I’m with,” she added. “Even if I break up with Ji Qingzhou, I won’t be with Huai Chuan.”
Kong Yue became angry, and her words grew increasingly sharp, "An Yi, no one will ever truly love you, no one will ever love you like this!"
An's throat tightened, and she murmured a few times but said nothing.
Kong Yue then said a few more harsh words, and the meeting ended in a one-sided, unpleasant atmosphere.
After Kong Yue left, An Yi released Ji Qingzhou.
Ji Qingzhou's eyes darkened. "I should have come out." He didn't want her to face this alone.
An said indifferently, "It's no use you coming out; she'll only get angrier."
She went to the kitchen, took a bowl, and divided the breakfast Kong Yue brought into two portions, placing one portion on the opposite side of the dining table.
"Just eat this, we don't need to bother Aunt Lin this morning."
Ji Qingzhou sat down opposite An Yi. After learning of Kong Yue's dissatisfaction with him that day, he went to find out more about her. To be precise, Kong Yue didn't dislike him. It was more due to An Yi's father's influence.
The main reason, in her opinion, was that she couldn't marry An as soon as possible.
There is room to change stereotypes, but Kong Yue doesn't know that the initiative for the latter is not currently in his hands.
An was eating quietly, her head down, and you could clearly see her trembling eyelashes.
The room was so quiet that the only sound was the clinking of bowls and spoons.
Suddenly, a tear slid down An's cheek. Hurtful words slowly pierce the heart.
Ji Qingzhou frowned.
He took An Yi's hand into his own and gently kneaded it.
An stopped speaking, but her crying grew louder and louder, turning from soft sobs into wailing.
He crossed the table to her side and pulled her into his arms.
She pressed herself against Ji Qingzhou, and Ji Qingzhou soothingly stroked An Yi's hair and face.
He carefully placed a kiss on her head.
Ji Qingzhou said softly, "What she said was all said in anger, it was all false, it was all a lie. There will be someone who cherishes you, someone who will love you forever..."
He talked to An Yi for a long time, and he talked for as long as An Yi cried.
He was not only comforting An Yi, but also taking this opportunity to comfort the little girl from many years ago.
Hopefully, her mother's words will cause her as little harm as possible.
I don't know if An has listened to me or not.
Her crying grew softer and softer.
She closed her eyes, and Ji Qingzhou raised his hand and gently patted her shoulder.
The two of them, one sitting and one standing, didn't know how long Ji Qingzhou had been taking pictures.
An Yi, nestled in his arms, gradually began to breathe evenly.
He picked up An Yi, placed her on the bed, and covered her with the blanket.
An, still half-asleep, was holding Ji Qingzhou's hand.
"There's something in your bag for you."
Ji Qingzhou replied, "Okay."
He held her hand for a while before letting it go.
He found what she had mentioned in the entryway.
A jar of Baihao Yinzhen (a type of Chinese herbal medicine).
Ji Qingzhou had never tried it, but he wasn't picky.
He could drink An Yi Company's tea, and only when he saw Huai Chuan did he regret not driving a luxury car.
He held the can of tea and stared at it for a long time.
She would bring him a bottle of tea when she went out, and she would also take him to the company's team building activities as a family member.
She didn't listen to Kong Yue and break up with herself.
At least not now.
Last night it was as cold as a heavy snowfall in winter, but now the snow has melted away in an instant, just like spring returning to the earth.
The tea canister I held was like a spark, igniting a fire in my heart.
He smiled broadly.
After tidying up the table, I brewed a pot of tea using the lotus-shaped tea set that was on the table.
The room was filled with the aroma of tea. The Silver Needle tea was refreshing and easy to drink, as if you were by a mountain stream, breathing in the fresh air.
After finishing his tea, he solemnly opened the search software, picked up a pen and paper, and began writing furiously on the paper, making repeated revisions.
If it weren't for the prominent words "eating and watching a movie," I would have thought it was something important.
If An wants to sleep in the afternoon, she can do these things tomorrow.
If you don't want to go out tomorrow, you can postpone it to the day after tomorrow.
But I must make sure she has to spend time with me like this at least once.
Just like a boy pursuing a girl, just like an ordinary couple.
An agreed readily.
I slept very uncomfortably on the floor last night, and I cried myself to sleep this morning.
I slept all morning and finally felt rested.
Ji Qingzhou didn't wake her; she woke up after lunchtime.
Ji Qingzhou told her that he had made a reservation at the restaurant and they could go now.
The two set off immediately; she was indeed a little hungry.
Ji Qingzhou took her to a French restaurant. The quiet environment, coupled with the deep strains of a cello, made time seem to slow down. The two enjoyed their meal together.
An Yi was quite curious as to how Ji Qingzhou knew about such a place.
Ji Qingzhou had never been here before, and answered truthfully, "I don't know: online couple bloggers say it's delicious."
He has been to many restaurants that are even more upscale than this.
But I still chose this place; the blogger is a great place for romance.
After dinner, Ji Qingzhou led An to the cinema entrance to help her digest.
Ji Qingzhou wanted to order the one recommended by someone else, but An had already been attracted by another poster.
Then they got scammed. It was supposed to be a comedy, but it was actually about the bond between a mother and daughter.
Ji Qingzhou regretted it halfway through the movie; perhaps he should have booked the tickets sooner.
At least he made sure the movie he originally wanted to order wasn't about family relationships.
"Or, let's go first," Ji Qingzhou whispered in An Yi's ear, then added after a moment's thought, "Actually, it's not very pretty."
An shook her head and said, "It's okay, it's fine. Don't waste it."
She looked at it calmly, but Ji Qingzhou was still worried, so she pulled An Yi's hand and held it in her own.
After the event ended, An breathed a long sigh of relief.
She said, "Every family has its own troubles, and every mother has her own story to tell."
Ji Qingzhou didn't speak, but just looked at An Yi with a deep, deep heartache.
An Yi's fingertips twitched slightly as she squeezed Ji Qingzhou's hand.
"No need for that. I understand that everyone has their own path. I love my mother, even if she doesn't love me as much. Life is about coming together and parting ways."
She was her only family.
Ji Qingzhou touched An Yi's cheek.
He wanted to say: there are times when we meet and times when we part, but he wanted to stay by his side forever.
An has already left ahead of time.
She and Ji Qingzhou walked out of the mall. "I feel much better. Thank you for bringing me out."
Ji Qingzhou frowned; it seemed she had misunderstood his purpose in bringing her out.
Amidst the bustling crowds in the mall, Ji Qingzhou suddenly saw someone waving at An Yi.
At the same time, An also heard someone calling her.
Huai Chuan strode up to An Yi and said, "What a coincidence, I just happened to be here taking care of some things."
Ji Qingzhou, "..."
Yes, what a coincidence! You have some important business to attend to at the mall.
If looks could kill, Huai Chuan would already be pierced by a thousand arrows.
He nodded to Ji Qingzhou as a greeting, and then chatted warmly with An Yi.
Of course, it was only him engaging in enthusiastic conversation on his own.
He asked An Yi if he wanted to go out for dinner together.
An frowned, somewhat annoyed by Huai Chuan's overly familiar and overly familiar behavior.
It was as if she punched cotton yesterday.
She even suspected that she was the only one who had the memory of yesterday.
Just as An was about to get angry, Ji Qingzhou said, "I'm sorry, she has to go home."
What he really wanted to say was: We're going home now, please don't bother my girlfriend anymore.
However, An Yi has not yet explained their relationship to him, and he is afraid that if he tells her, An Yi will be angry with him.
Huai Chuan nodded and walked away with An.
He showed no sign of caring about the person who repeatedly appeared beside An.
Huai Chuan is to An Yi's right, and Ji Qingzhou is to An Yi's left.
And so, the three of them walked together in this strange formation.
On the way, Huaichuan pointed to a huge ice cream advertisement and said to Anyi, "Do you still remember this? Back in high school, everyone at school ate this ice cream."
An shook her head; she really didn't remember anything at all.
Not to be outdone, Ji Qingzhou went out of the mall and onto the street, pointing to a street lamp and asking, "This street lamp is the same model as the one we encountered earlier."
"..."
Ji Qingzhou has a very good memory; if he says it's the same model, then it must be the same model.
An thought he was probably referring to a year ago, during one of the few times they spent together, they had walked under a streetlamp or he had escorted her back to her dormitory.
She vaguely remembered it, but she wouldn't bother to pay attention to the style of the streetlights for no reason.
However, under Ji Qingzhou's expectant gaze, she still honestly said, "I remember."
Ji Qingzhou smiled broadly.
Win the game!
Huai Chuan shrugged and said to An Yi, "I'll take you home."
An had already distanced herself from him. "No need, I'm going home with my boyfriend."
