Chapter 10: After I finish my mission, will you come home with me?

"Of course, this doesn't taste good because there's not much meat in it."

"We've never raised one before, so we don't know what it needs to eat?"

“I know it eats wild grass.”

Yuanyuan happily carried the little rabbit back to the cave. As soon as she entered the cave, the little wolf on the stone bed struggled to lift its head to look at her.

Seeing her come in carrying another long-eared beast, he blinked. He didn't understand whether she was going to eat it or keep it like he did.

"Awoo?"

"Little wolf, are you hungry? You'll have to wait a little longer; your meat hasn't been divided yet."

"This is your new friend, Little White. From now on, you must get along peacefully, okay?"

"..."

The little wolf looked at the rabbit, which was a size bigger than itself, let out a soft howl, and continued to lie down.

The wound on my stomach hasn't healed yet, and it's still throbbing with pain.

Yuanyuan told the little rabbit to stay in the cave and not run around, and then went up to change the wolf cub's medicine.

He rummaged through the animal skin bag for herbs, crushed them, and the little wolf obediently lay on its back without moving.

"Bear with it, it won't hurt after the dressing is changed." Yuanyuan blew on its wound and then manually scooped out a piece of medicine residue with some juice and smeared it on the wound.

Yuanyuan accidentally poked the wound, and the little wolf couldn't help but howl.

"Squeak!"

Little White jumped onto the stone bed, perked up its long ears, stared at the little wolf, and made a very soft growl.

To the little wolf, it sounded like he was being mocked.

It tilted its head back and glanced at the rabbit, as if issuing a warning.

Perhaps due to their natural nemesis, Xiaobai was frightened.

Yuanyuan poked the little wolf's head with her finger, "Don't be mean to Xiaobai."

"Awoo?"

After changing the medicine, Yuanyuan turned around and went to the side to wash the bowl used for grinding the medicine.

Turning my head, I saw Little Wolf and Little White staring at each other.

Little White crouched down in an attack stance, while Little Wolf tried to get up but couldn't move because of the pain.

You can only scare it away with your eyes.

What are you doing?

Upon hearing its voice, Xiaobai immediately lay down on the bed and pretended to be asleep.

"..."

"Awooo...it wants to eat me."

Yuanyuan: "..."

"Little wolf, don't talk nonsense. Little White is a rabbit. It doesn't eat meat; it only eats grass."

noob:"………"

Actually, it's an omnivore; it eats everything.

The little wolf got angry when he heard her defending the long-eared beast.

It turned its head away and stopped calling out.

Footsteps sounded outside the cave, and the animal skin curtain was lifted, revealing Snake Seven carrying a large piece of fine meat.

Seeing the little white creature on the stone bed, he paused for a moment, "They really keep this long-eared beast as a pet?"

“Okay!” Yuanyuan nodded.

He didn't say anything more, and placed the meat on the stone platform. "Okay, if you need wild herbs, I'll have Leopard Jiu and Tiger Ya get them for you."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Yuanyuan cut the beast meat into small pieces and fed it to the wolf cub.

At first, the little wolf was angry and didn't want to eat, but his stomach just wouldn't cooperate.

I couldn't resist the temptation and ate it.

"Little White, are you hungry?"

Yuanyuan looked down and poked Xiaobai, who was pretending to be asleep. It was already dark, and going out to find grass was simply not feasible.

She wouldn't take that risk.

She wondered if rabbits ate meat. In her mind, rabbits ate vegetables, and their favorite food was carrots.

Just as I was hesitating whether to let it drink some water to fill its stomach, the animal skin curtain at the entrance of the cave was lifted again, and Leopard Jiu walked in, carrying a bundle of lush green wild grass in his hand.

The little wolf was still eating meat, but as soon as it saw him, its ears perked up instantly, and it shrank into the stone bed.

He made a soft humming sound in his throat, not daring to look up.

It was still very afraid of these orcs.

Little Whitey froze, its long ears drooping, not daring to move, its red eyes fixed on its front paws.

He looked extremely frightened.

Leopard threw the weeds on the ground, glanced at the two on the stone bed, and didn't react in any particular way.

"I just heard you have a long-eared beast. I was worried you wouldn't have enough grass to feed it, so I just picked some outside the tribe."

Yuanyuan quickly stood up to thank him, "Thank you, Uncle Baojiu! I was just worried about not having anything to feed Xiaobai!"

She went up and placed the bundle of wild grass in the corner of the cave, first laying down a layer of animal hide, and then putting the wild grass on top.

"Little White, come here."

Xiao Bai glanced furtively at Bao Jiu standing beside him, too afraid to move.

"noob!"

"Squeak!"

Xiao Bai glanced at Bao Jiu again to make sure he wasn't looking at her before jumping off the bed and running to Yuan Yuan's side.

"Eat up!"

Yuanyuan teased it with a clump of wild grass, and after a while, Xiaobai started nibbling on the grass leaves.

Leopard stared at Little White, who was huddled in the corner eating grass, for several moments with a puzzled look.

I felt that this long-eared beast looked familiar, as if I had seen it somewhere before.

I can't remember it right now.

I suppose I encountered it while hunting in the wild. I didn't think about it any further and didn't stay any longer.

"I'll be right at the cave entrance. Call me if you need anything."

"Understood, thank you Uncle Bao Jiu."

It was quite a while after Leopard left before the little wolf slowly raised its head, and Little White's hunched back finally relaxed, almost thinking it had been recognized.

Yuanyuan patted Xiaobai's back and pinched its ears: "Don't be afraid, Uncle Leopard looks fierce, but he's not scary."

"Squeak!"

Xiao Bai felt comfortable being stroked and nuzzled its head against Yuan Yuan's palm.

Yuanyuan squatted down next to it and poked its long ears: "Be a good boy and eat grass."

The little wolf watched this scene from the edge of the bed, feeling very indignant, and let out a low "howl" from its throat.

Yuanyuan immediately understood what it meant, "So you want to be touched too?"

The little wolf turned his head to the side, refusing to look at her.

It doesn't.

Little White stopped eating grass, tilted its head to look at her, and continued eating grass when it saw that she hadn't left.

"Eat quickly, or you won't be able to see anything in the dark."

Yuanyuan leaned against the stone wall, looking at the wolf and rabbit in the cave, and suddenly spoke, "After I finish my mission, will you come home with me?"

She has always loved small animals, but her father doesn't allow any furry animals in the house.

She could only watch secretly in the park each time.

I envy kids who can keep pets.

She doesn't want her father right now, and she doesn't want to go home. Is it okay for her to keep a few small animals?

Once home, she felt lost again.

With her mother gone, she has no home, and she doesn't know where to go when she returns to the real world.

Her gaze fell on the flower basket. She thought about giving it to the handsome uncle and whether he would take her in until she found her mother.

She gently touched Little White's long ears with her small hand, sighing inwardly. She was homeless, just like them.

As if sensing her sadness, Xiaobai stopped munching on grass and nuzzled her palm with its head.

"Squeak!"

Her red eyes blinked brightly.

The wolf cub, lying on its back, also let out a gentle "howl".

Yuanyuan's eyes lit up when she received their response, and she clapped her hands happily.

"Great! It's settled then, I'll take you home later."

...

That night, the man and the two beasts curled up on the stone bed to sleep.

Yuanyuan pulled the soft animal skin down to her chin, and the little wolf skillfully snuggled up to her, its furry body pressed against her arm, feeling warm and cozy.

She stroked the wolf cub's head, and the wolf let out a soft "woof" and snuggled closer to her.

At the other end of the stone bed, Little White huddled in a corner, its two long ears drooping, its red eyes flashing in the darkness as it secretly glanced at Yuan Yuan.

He hated the smell of the little wolf, so he could only curl up into a small ball, his ears drooping down to cover his nose.

Seeing that it looked all alone, Yuanyuan patted the empty space next to her, "Little White, come here!"

Little White hesitated for a while before slowly moving forward and stopping a distance away from Little Wolf.

The little wolf noticed, glanced up at Little White, didn't say anything, and moved closer to Yuan Yuan.

“…”

That little wolf cub deserves a beating.
