Chapter 34 Searching for Herbs in the Grassland

Chapter 34 Searching for Herbs in the Grassland

With one hand pinching his mouth shut, she forced the slightly hot medicine down his throat.

Huya coughed violently, whether from choking or being burned, his chest heaving, and the medicine mixed with saliva dripped down the corner of his mouth.

Feng quickly closed his mouth, pinching his lips to prevent the medicine from spilling out.

Huya's eyelashes trembled a few times as she struggled to open her eyelids, her vision blurred and all she could see was black.

He coughed incessantly from the strong medicine, and looked at Feng with a somewhat bewildered expression.

I don't understand what's wrong with me.

Seeing that he had opened his eyes, Feng loosened his grip and handed the wooden bowl to him, saying, "Drink it yourself now that you're awake."

Huya stared at the medicine in the bowl, his head still a little dizzy, and didn't react for a moment.

What's wrong with me?

"You have a fever. This is the medicine Yuanyuan prepared for you. Drink it quickly."

Upon hearing that it was prepared by Yuanyuan, Huya took it without hesitation and downed it in one gulp.

I don't know if it was just psychological, but after taking the medicine, I felt less dizzy.

"Where am I?" Huya looked around; it was pitch black.

I can't tell where it is.

"This is the border between the Rock Wolf Tribe and the Grassland Tribe. Yuanyuan was worried that something might happen to you, so we stopped to rest. We still have to fly all morning to get to our tribe tomorrow."

Hu Ya nodded, and was about to ask Yuan Yuan and the others where they had gone when he saw a small cloth bag that was almost blending into the night not far away.

Only Yuanyuan would have something so strange and magical.

Seeing that he was alright, Feng picked up the empty bowl, got up, and sat back down by the fire. Tonight, he and Kun would take turns keeping watch.

...

Yuanyuan woke up the next day. When she came out of the tent, Kun had already returned from hunting nearby.

Feng is dealing with the Gugu Beasts he fought back.

"Awake?"

Kun looked up and smiled at her, "I went into the woods early this morning and caught two Gugu beasts. They'll be ready to eat soon after I roast them."

Yuanyuan rubbed her eyes, walked over to the fire and looked around: "You're back from hunting so soon? Uncle Kun, you've worked hard."

"Of course."

Looking around, I didn't see Huya. "Where's Uncle Huya? Is he better?"

"It should be ready by now." Without even looking up, he plucked clumps of chicken feathers from his hands. "He said he's going for a walk around the neighborhood and will be back in a bit."

"Yuanyuan, you should go wash up quickly too. After you eat, let's head back to the tribe while it's still cool."

"OK!"

Yuanyuan had no objections; if they left early, it wouldn't be so sunny. The sun is very strong in the hot season, and she felt she had gotten a shade darker.

Little White came closer and nuzzled Yuan Yuan's hand with its head. The little snake wrapped around her other wrist, its tail gently brushing against the back of her hand.

Yuanyuan smiled and touched Xiaobai's ears, "Take me to the pond."

The pool was not far from the tent. The clear water reflected the grass, leaves and trees. Yuanyuan scooped up the water and splashed it on her face. It felt cool and comfortable.

Take out a disposable towel from the space, wet it and wash your face.

As I was wiping my face, the system's voice suddenly sounded in my head: [Mission changed: The host needs to find Starleaf Grass, Purple Spotted Vine, and Red Peony within three days.]

[The leaves of *Stellaria media* are heart-shaped and green with a purple underside. It can treat external injuries and neutralize mild toxins. It currently grows within a 50-meter radius of the pond.]

Yuanyuan paused for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening, put away the disposable towel, and began searching around.

After searching for about ten minutes, I stopped in front of a clump of weeds.

She crouched down to take a closer look. The leaf was heart-shaped, and when she flipped it over, the back was indeed purple, matching the description in the system.

Just as I reached out to pull it out, I heard someone behind me shout, "Yuanyuan, where are you? The roast chicken is almost done!" It was Uncle Kun's voice.

Yuanyuan stood up and waved: "Uncle Kun, I'm here."

"I'll be back in a bit."

He hadn't seen her just now because her figure was hidden by the grass.

Knowing which direction she was coming from, she walked over and was a little surprised to see her pulling weeds. "These weeds are growing quite nicely, Yuanyuan. Are you thinking of digging them up and planting them?"

When their tribe finds beautiful flowers and plants in the wild, they will pull them up and bring them back for their females to plant for fun, since none of them will survive.

"This is starleaf grass, a kind of herb that can treat external injuries and detoxify minor poisons!"

Kun's eyes lit up, and he squatted down to start searching with her.

The two pulled up all the star-leaf grasses nearby.

"The roast chicken should be ready by now. Let's go eat something."

Yuanyuan put all the herbs she had dug up into her spatial storage. "Uncle Kun, you go and eat first. I'll come over later."

"No, it's too dangerous for you to go alone."

“It’s alright,” she said, twirling her wrist. “I have a little snake protecting me.”

"Squeak!"

Little Whitey grumbled in dissatisfaction.

Yuanyuan pointed to it again, "And Little White will protect me too."

"Alright then, be careful." Kun agreed, knowing that his young master was stronger than him.

"System! System! The first one has been found! Where are the remaining two herbs?"

The remaining two types are not currently distributed in this area; their exact location can only be detected after traveling two kilometers deeper into the grass.

"We still have to go so far..."

Yuanyuan pouted, preparing to go back to eat roasted chicken legs, when her eyes caught sight of a clump of lush green grass with fine white down on its leaves by the pond.

Her eyes lit up, and she jogged over, squatted down, and started rummaging through the rubble.

She picked up a plant with her little hand, and it really was one of the plants on the list. She then turned around and pulled up all the other herbs around it one by one.

Then he turned around and went to look for other plants.

Little White came over and rubbed its fluffy rabbit head against her arm.

Yuanyuan pinched his rabbit ears and waved the grass in her hand, "Little White, I need this, can you help me find it!"

Little White sniffed closer, confirmed the scent, and started helping it search.

Huya walked over and looked down at her rummaging through a pile of grass. "Yuanyuan, are these all medicinal herbs?"

"no."

Orcs are indeed resilient. They had a fever and were unconscious last night, but woke up full of energy.

Yuanyuan was relieved to see that Uncle Huya was alright.

"Then why are you collecting these herbs? They can't cure diseases or be eaten."

"You should take this back to your uncle!"

Yuanyuan tilted her chin up, her little face full of seriousness, "There's so much grass here, but we don't have any where we're from!"

Hu Ya remembered that she had picked a lot of flowers before, saying that she would take them back to give to her uncle. She nodded and bent down to help her pick up the few flowers that had fallen on the ground.

"Go eat something first, you won't grow tall if you're hungry."

Okay!

She was also hungry.

Yuanyuan accepted the last plant and skipped after him.

Back at the rest area, Uncle Feng had already grilled the meat and left her a large chicken leg.

"Thank you, Uncle."

"Eat quickly, we need to continue our journey after we finish eating."

Yuanyuan took the chicken leg, which was as big as her calf, and started gnawing on it.

She wanted to find the remaining two herbs nearby.

She wanted to go home as soon as possible; she couldn't feel at ease until she saw her mother in person.

"Let's continue our journey this afternoon. I'd like to look for herbs nearby."

The orcs looked at each other and finally nodded in unison.

"Sure, just tell us what herbs you need and we'll help you find them."

...

The wind on the grassland carried the scent of grass and earth, and sunlight shone through the sparse clouds onto the ground. Yuanyuan squatted in the grass with a collection bag, carefully identifying each blade of grass.

"Yuanyuan, which herb are you looking for?" Kun squatted down, finished packing his things, and followed to ask.

Yuanyuan told him about the characteristics of the herbs.

Huya nodded, "Okay, let's split up and search, that way we'll find it faster."

Feng appeared behind them without them noticing. "Okay, I'll lead the search this way. Kun, you go to the area behind here."

Huya, just look ahead.

"Be careful, there are many mud pits on this grassland. If you fall in, you won't be able to get out."

"Xiaobai, you should come and search too."
