Chapter 31 Upgrading the Cat House: Creating a Comfortable and Fun Cat House Project
The wind outside the window is getting colder day by day. Even though the temperature on the farm is always pleasant, it can't be as mild as spring all year round.
Autumn and winter will still arrive on time.
Although autumn's influence has already spread, Shi Wan no longer dares to go out wearing just a short-sleeved shirt.
Even a slight gust of wind can make your arms tingle with cold.
The cats' two little wooden houses are simpler than Shi Wan's wooden house, exuding a minimalist style.
Besides cat bowls, cat beds, and cat trees, there's almost nothing else.
Although every time Shi Wan opened the door, she would see countless little heads sticking out of the cat bed, looking at her with bewildered or wary expressions, Shi Wan still wanted to give them more space.
Moreover, the winters here are not warm, and she also wanted to provide the cats with a warm and comfortable winter home.
After deciding that the cat house would be the first place to be renovated, Shi Wan started browsing the system shop for the cards she wanted.
She had starred the Building Basic Upgrade Card, making it stand out among a pile of dusty cards.
A card costs 400 points, which is cheaper than the factory upgrade card.
Shi Wan glanced at her points balance and patted her chest loudly.
ha!
Since the hypoallergenic cat food and cucumber jelly were put on the shelves, she hasn't worried about points anymore!
Sigh, but even buying two cards for a single item is still quite a hassle...
Although there are two cat houses, she can only upgrade one for now. After the upgrade, it should become a bit bigger, like an office building, right?
Perhaps one room could accommodate all the cats.
With that in mind, she readily clicked to purchase the building upgrade card. Since she was going to buy it anyway, Shi Wan didn't care about wasting her points.
Just as I was about to close the online store, a chat window popped up with customer service Miao.
"Miao: You can buy two building combination cards to combine the cat house and your wooden house and then upgrade them."
Shi Wan was taken aback.
ah?
She subconsciously clicked on the building synthesis card, which was much cheaper than the upgrade card, costing only 140 points.
She calculated that upgrading the three wooden houses individually would cost a total of 1,200 points.
If she upgrades after combining them, she will only need to spend 400 plus 280 points, for a total of 680 points.
It's half price!
Break a bone!
Shi Wan was overjoyed after she realized what was happening.
Miao sent another message.
"Miao: Although there will be some overlap between the space for people and cats after this upgrade, the agent doesn't seem to mind living with the cat."
Agent: No, no, please remind me if you find any other ways to save money like this in the future!
"Agent: Miao, what would I do without you?!"
Miao sent me a meme of a happy black cat.
Shi Wan was excited and immediately took down two synthesis cards.
LOL, I can't afford a second upgrade card, but I can barely afford two crafting cards.
You might even have some points left to buy two more apple trees to plant in your yard.
She hurriedly left the cabin, not forgetting to take out Tangyuan, who was half-asleep and lying on top of the refrigerator.
sweet dumpling:?
He yawned in Shi Wan's arms, "What's wrong now, meow?"
Shi Wan leaned closer and sniffed, "Tangyuan, your little mouth is so cute. I'll brush your teeth after we upgrade the house."
Tangyuan was first shocked, then became angry and embarrassed, "You're talking nonsense! How could a cat's mouth possibly be able to bite!"
"Meow, I don't brush my teeth!!!"
Shi Wan pressed his head down into her arms, using the synthesis card while coldly saying, "Stop struggling. You're definitely going to have to brush your teeth today."
Tangyuan squealed and wriggled out of her arms, running off in a chaotic mess.
Watching his flustered figure run away, Shi Wan thought to herself that she still needed to research some teeth-cleaning snacks.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to brush all the cats' teeth, and they would easily develop tartar and dentistry.
It's morning work hours now, and there aren't many cats in the cat house; they're all running around outside.
After using the synthesis card, a faint white light flashed and dissipated, and she found that several wooden houses were already very close together, almost side by side.
The wooden houses are connected by a corridor, each independent yet interconnected.
Without hesitation, Shi Wan clicked to use the building upgrade card.
bite--!
A soft white light flashed by, and the three originally simple wooden houses seemed to be transformed by magic.
Shi Wan stared wide-eyed at the townhouse that had appeared out of nowhere, her heart pounding with delight at how adorable it was.
This house is just perfect for her!
Two cozy, log cabins stood side by side, with two cat houses merged into one large room, while her own cabin remained a separate space.
The two villas are still connected by a semi-open corridor, which is bulging in a circle with a parasol in the middle and white garden tables and chairs for resting.
The handrails on both sides of the corridor were bare, but Shi Wan had already planned to plant some climbing plants to decorate the handrails with colorful foliage.
The roof is a soft, dark gray, with the eaves playfully upturned, resembling two adjacent cream-colored square tiles. The eaves, like those of a hydroponic greenhouse, are carefully crafted into adorable wave shapes, casting round and lovely shadows in the sunlight.
The most adorable thing is the gate of the two villas.
There were two entrances on one door.
A normal size is convenient for Shi Wan to get in and out.
The other one was small and cute, with a windproof soft curtain printed with chubby little dried fish. When the wind blew, the curtain swayed gently, as if silently inviting her, "Meow~ Come in and play with me!"
The windows are an absolute adorable touch!
Her room is still a regular square shape, but the large floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light. The sunlight streaming in would make the whole room glow with a golden light, which would look beautiful and warm.
The cats' villa next door, however, has round, paw-shaped windows at just the right height, clearly VIP seats for viewing the view, tailor-made for the furry creatures in the house.
Each window also thoughtfully extends into a small wooden terrace. Shi Wan didn't even need to think that in the afternoons to come, this place would definitely be occupied by all sorts of furry little balls with their paws tucked in and stretching out like cat pancakes.
She pushed open the door to her villa, where a cute little wooden sign hung, just like the one on the office building, except that it read "Agent's Home".
Shi Wan touched the sign and couldn't help but smile. She walked into the room, and a faint scent of pine wood wafted towards her.
The furniture in the house was also upgraded.
Almost all of the furniture is made of low, rounded wood and rattan. The sofa is large and soft, covered with a plush knitted blanket, and there is a huge woven cat bed in the corner.
Although she felt that Tangyuan would definitely not sleep inside, he would probably still have a legitimate reason to squeeze into her bed in the end.
The villa has two floors and a much larger footprint, making the interior more spacious.
The first floor is mainly Shi Wan's activity area.
The living room, kitchen, study for work, bathroom, laundry room, and storage room are all on the first floor.
The second floor is her rest area.
The master bedroom has its own bathroom and bathtub, and there is also a side bedroom next to it, which is not as big as the master bedroom, but it is not small either.
The other rooms are a walk-in closet, a media room, and a storage room.
Shi Wan strolled around with great interest and was very satisfied.
It was much bigger than she had imagined.
It's just that there's still some emptiness, and it lacks some traces of life.
But it doesn't matter, Shi Wan will fill it up slowly.
Finally, her gaze fell on the side door connecting the corridor.
The side door and the main door had the same layout, with a small hole through which a dried fish curtain hung. She couldn't resist walking over and following the corridor to the cat house.
Wow! !
The cat house is almost exactly the same size and layout as hers, but it has been renovated to better suit the cats' living conditions.
The walls feature staggered skywalks and perforated partitions for playing hide-and-seek. Soft cat beds and scratching posts are scattered on the floor, while low food and water bowls and a still-green automatic feeder sit in the corner.
The most interesting thing was that there were several long transparent pipes embedded between the walls. She watched as the tabby cat Huanhuan slid through them with a "whoosh" and then happily jumped around in the sky corridor on the wall.
I don't even know when they ran in here, and now they're already playing around.
She stared at it for a long time before remembering to walk around the house, and then she was so charmed that she clutched her heart.
Where is this wall?
This is basically a giant 3D cat tree playground!
Rough wooden planks, pillars wrapped with sisal rope, rope ladders hanging from the eaves, and even a colorful little slide that leads straight to the attic and can be slid directly from the side window to the lawn in front of the house!
It's like bringing all the best of cat cafes home.
Both villas still extend to spacious wooden decks with retractable awnings for sunbathing and rain protection.
The open space in front of the house is gently enveloped by a lush, green lawn, and a light-colored stone path connects all the entrances like a ribbon.
The center is furnished with wooden tables and chairs and several outdoor cushions that look incredibly comfortable to relax on – it's practically the perfect spot for petting cats, drinking tea, and watching the sunset in the future.
The pillars weren't idle either; they were covered with woven flower baskets planted with cat grass and mint, becoming a mobile snack and refreshment station for the cats.
A few clumps of green apple calathea were planted in the corner of the house, rustling in the wind and tickling the cat's paws.
The house is connected to the lawn and, like the office building, is surrounded by a white fence. Several apple trees are planted in the corner, and they look very thriving.
As night falls, the mushroom-shaped solar-powered ground lights under the eaves and along the roadside will "click" and light up, scattering a warm yellow halo that gently envelops this home that seems to have been moved from a fairy tale.
Shi Wan stood there, gazing at the two beautiful houses, her heart melting completely, and the corners of her mouth curving upwards in a wild smile.
This is hardly an upgrade.
This is clearly a dream of being surrounded by furry, 360-degree furry beauty, brought into reality.
She can already foresee the warm and healing daily life that awaits her in the future.
I'm woken up by cat paws in the morning, then go to work with my fluffy colleagues, spend the afternoon surrounded by cat treats on my cushion, and watch the stars with my furry little bundles of fur in the evening.
This is probably the sweetest trouble in the world...
Shi Wanpiao absentmindedly took out her phone, snapped a picture, and sent it to Wang Zhizhi, who was at work.
"Wanwan is not late: Oh right, I suddenly remembered, I haven't introduced my home to you yet, have I?"
A moment later, the phone started vibrating wildly.
"Sesame Ball: Holy crap?? Shi Xiaowan?? What kind of person does this??"
