Chapter 159 Mermaid Baby Battles the Mermaid

"How about we do it now..."

Baili Wanwan started to say something, but then her bright eyes darted around and she suddenly changed her mind: "Little brother, I'm hungry!"

She patted her little belly, smiling with an innocent and naive expression.

She stared intently at Xiao Qi, her gaze melting his heart.

"Didn't you just eat? Why are you hungry again?"

As Xiao Qi spoke, they had already reached the shore. In this weather, the sea breeze made their wet clothes feel a bit chilly.

He frowned slightly, worried that Baili Wanwan would catch a cold, and quietly moved to shield her from the wind.

"There were too many people at night, and I didn't get enough to eat."

Baili Wanwan is talking nonsense with a straight face.

Xiao Qi naturally didn't miss the cunning in her eyes, but he couldn't bear to expose the little girl's little scheme. He shook his head helplessly and said with a smile, "Then let's go back first."

After all, the night wind is blowing, and young children in this winding place are prone to illness. It wouldn't be good if they got sick tomorrow.

The two returned home. Xiao Qi naturally didn't stay at the Wan family's house for long. He greeted Wan Suizhou and then went back to his newly built house.

But after he left, Baili Wanwan took advantage of the fact that no one was home and ran towards the beach.

The moonlight, like water, gently spilled onto the sea, seemingly unaware of the undercurrents surging beneath.

This time, Baili Wanwan didn't go into the water. Instead, she went to the rocky area, stood on a rock with a frown, her little hands on her hips, and called out in a clear voice, "Stop hiding, come out!"

Even though that's the case, her sweet little voice didn't carry the slightest bit of intimidation.

The sea remained calm. Baili Wanwan hummed softly, picked up a small stone from the ground, and spotted a spot.

He leaned back to gather his strength, then threw himself forcefully.

The ball traced a graceful parabola in the air before striking precisely the spot she had been staring at.

A scream rang out, and ripples appeared on the once calm sea.

Then, a head appeared out of nowhere.

If others saw this, they would definitely scream in terror, but Baili Wanwan seemed to have already guessed it, and remained expressionless with a cold face.

He snorted softly, "You bad guy, why were you bullying the little brother just now!"

When she accused someone, her voice had a slightly aggrieved, childlike quality, making people feel guilty and reflect on their own behavior.

The one that emerged from the water was also a mermaid.

Originally, she would just come to the rocks to sunbathe when she had nothing to do nearby. Occasionally, when she saw two humans, she would go back into the water on her own and never cause any trouble.

But these past few days, I noticed her while playing by the water in Bailiwanwan.

It recognized at a glance that this was one of its own kind.

So today, I had a mischievous thought: I wanted to scare this little mermaid and teach her a lesson about how dangerous the world can be.

Unexpectedly, instead of scaring Baili Wanwan, it almost drowned the human boy.

She had initially felt guilty and regretful, but after hearing what Baili Wanwan said, she immediately changed her mind.

He deliberately put on a mischievous smile: "What? Feeling sorry for me?"

The moonlight shone on the mermaid's already fair complexion, giving her a touch of aloofness and making her red lips appear even more rosy.

Coupled with his deliberately wicked smile, he looked like a man-eating demon from a storybook.

Baili Wanwan had never seen a storybook, but she had heard Zhang Xiu tell those bizarre and fantastical tales.

I didn't believe that demons would make things difficult for people, but now, looking at this mermaid in front of me, I suddenly thought of the female demons in the stories.

"You big bad guy, you can't eat people!"

Baili Wanwan's thoughts jumped to that point in an instant, startling the merman.

He felt wronged inside, thinking he hadn't eaten anyone, but on the surface he was still teasing her:

"I'll eat people, and you can't stop me."

She continued following Baili Wanwan's words, and as expected, she angered the little girl.

Baili Wanwan pointed her chubby little hand sharply at the merman and said in a clear voice, "What you're doing is wrong!"

The little girl's vocabulary is limited when she swears or lectures, but she's incredibly cute.

The mermaids in the water were already quite bored, and now that they had such a lively little girl to keep them company, they were naturally happy to pass the time.

"Alright, let's have a contest. If you win, I will stop eating people."

"good!"

Baili Wanwan immediately agreed, casually rolled up her cufflinks, and looked ready to make a big splash.

The merman was surprised by her quick agreement and asked helplessly, "Haven't you heard what the price will be if you lose?"

"I won't lose!"

Baili Wanwan pouted, her chubby little face full of seriousness.

Such arrogant and somewhat conceited words, spoken in such a calm and serious tone, have a different feel to them.

The mermaid was startled, and her gaze towards Baili Wanwan held a newfound scrutiny beyond mere affection.

"Then let's begin."

This contest between merfolk naturally didn't involve swords or spears; the two agreed to use water manipulation magic to determine the outcome.

Suddenly, a huge wave rose up on the sea, and a giant water droplet condensed and hung in the air, almost as tall as the moon.

And the one who accomplished all of this was a tiny, insignificant three-year-old baby standing on the ground!

If someone were to see this scene, they would be utterly shocked and panic, thinking the world was about to end!

"Excellent, excellent!"

The merman watched her perform the spell and clapped his hands gently.

"Your turn!"

Baili Wanwan pointed confidently at the merman, who naturally refused to back down.

Just as she was about to cast a spell, a slender figure suddenly appeared behind her.

His slender fingers rested on her shoulder, and a melodious voice, like the bright moon and gentle breeze in the mountains, rang in her ears: "Enough, this is my disciple."

The mermaid turned around in shock and saw an extremely beautiful face.

If there were a single measure of beauty in this world, the woman before me would possess at least eight-tenths of it, with the remaining two-tenths to be divided among the people.

The merman opened his mouth, only to find himself too shocked to utter a sound.

Then, Baili Wanwan, who had been so arrogant, suddenly brightened up and ran to the side with a thud, splashing into the water.

He buried his head in the arms of the stunningly beautiful mermaid who had just appeared: "Master!"

Her voice was sweet and cloying, softening the beautiful mermaid's heart. She patted her head as if doting on her own child, smiling as she said, "It's only been a few days, but you've become even more proficient in the spells I taught you. However, this habit of betting with others is unacceptable."

She spoke with a hint of shyness, pointing to the merman from before, "She said she wanted to eat people, so I..."

"I was just kidding!"

The merman blushed, no longer daring to tease Baili Wanwan. He took out a mermaid pearl from his robes and said somewhat awkwardly, "This is compensation for you."
