Chapter Thirty-Three: The Mermaid Child Teaches the Naughty Child a Lesson

Cao Chengye came from a well-off family, and his education differed from that of the other children in the village.

Seeing Wan Suizhou's deep voice, he obediently got off Wan Qiusui and stood properly beside him.

Zhao Damei quickly scrambled to her feet and went to help her son.

Wan Qiusui was in a sorry state, her face covered in sand and dirt.

When she cried, her tears mixed with mud, making her face even dirtier.

Zhao Damei pinched him hard and scolded him in a low voice, "Cry! Cry! Cry! You still have the nerve to cry!"

Wan Qiusui was already feeling wronged, and after Zhao Damei's scolding, she cried even harder.

Baili Wanwan, who was standing to the side, couldn't help but laugh when she saw Wan Qiusui crying her eyes out.

This really ignited a fire in Zhao Damei's heart.

Her icy gaze shot over in a flash, staring straight at Baili Wanwan.

Baili Wanwan was startled. Before she could hide behind Zhang Xiu, Zhao Damei's vicious words spilled out uncontrollably.

"Hmph! Laugh! Laugh! You little beast, born of a mother but raised without one!"

Zhang Xiu quickly covered Baili Wanwan's ears, then glared angrily at Zhao Damei, "Zhao Damei!! Don't go too far!!"

Zhao Damei became even angrier upon hearing this: "Fine!! Your whole family is bullying my mother and me!"

She pointed at Zhang Xiu, trembling with anger: "I am, after all, an elder of the Wan family, how dare you be so disrespectful!"

Zhang Xiu gave her a cold look, seemingly finding her words quite ridiculous.

"You need to act like an elder before we can respect you. Otherwise, don't even think about it!!"

"Fine! You're bullying me like this just because I have no one to raise my child!" Zhao Damei said, still feeling very wronged.

Baili Wanwan overheard these words, and her previously happy face instantly fell.

Zhang Xiu was heartbroken when he saw this. He quickly knelt down and hugged Baili Wanwan to comfort her. He then said to Zhao Damei, "Wanwan is not an unwanted child. From now on, she is a member of the Wan family and my biological daughter!"

As she spoke, she took out a bundle.

She opened it in front of Baili Wanwan, revealing a neatly folded peach-colored dress.

"This was made especially for you by your aunt. Do you like it?"

Baili Wanwan looked at the new dress, then at the gentle and beautiful Zhang Xiu, and her nose tingled, tears welling up in her eyes.

Thanks to her quick reflexes, she wiped away the tears, preventing anyone from noticing them turning into pearls as they fell.

Since she woke up, she has stayed at the Wan family home. Everyone in the Wan family treats her very well and never lets her suffer any grievances.

Today, her aunt actually treated her like her own daughter, how could Wanwan not be moved?

"I love so much!!"

Baili Wanwan finally smiled and hugged Zhang Xiu's neck.

The moment Baili Wanwan ran into her arms, Zhang Xiu almost burst into tears of emotion.

This girl is just different from boys who are like little monkeys.

She's soft and fragrant, and her mind is more delicate than that of her two sons.

Zhang Xiu dreamed of having a girl. Although she had never gotten pregnant, she felt that Wanwan's arrival was another way for God to fulfill her wish.

So she had long ago made up her mind to treat Wanwan well.

After Zhang Xiu's actions, it was Zhao Damei and Wan Qiusui, mother and son, who became the unreasonable and annoying ones.

"Alright! Enough talk!"

Although Wan Suizhou had anger in his heart, he was not a petty person.

He ultimately kept Wan Qiusui.

Although the children were somewhat dissatisfied with this incident, none of them disobeyed.

The school was thus established quickly and busily.

Since there was only one gentleman, Wan Suizhou, all the rules were followed according to his habits.

The villagers had no objections.

A few more days passed, and rumors began to circulate in the village that Wan Suizhou was a child trafficker who specialized in stealing other people's children.

Because the matter was so ridiculous, the Wan family never took it to heart.

On this day, Baili Wanwan went out to sea with Zhang Xiu as usual.

Since Zhang Xiu was going to the sea to retrieve his crab traps and would be back soon, Wanwan did not go with him but waited on the shore.

The sun was shining brightly, and the sunlight shone down, making the seashells on the beach sparkle.

Baili Wanwan picked up seashells while playing on the shore.

I looked up and bumped into a group of children who had just finished school, all together in a huddle.

As soon as they saw Baili Wanwan, they all rushed over and surrounded her.

"Every household is a thief! They steal things, then they steal children!"

A group of children gathered around Bailiwanwan, singing a song they had heard somewhere.

Baili Wanwan stood up angrily and said to the group of children, "You're talking nonsense! Stop singing!"

"Just say it! They say you're the child the Wan family stole!"

A group of children were jumping and talking, completely unaware of the impact their unrealistic words would have.

"If you keep saying that, I'm going to hit you!!" Baili Wanwan was very angry!

She didn't understand why someone would spread such rumors when Grandpa Wan and his aunt were such good people.

The children sing these songs simply because it's fun.

They are young and easily taken advantage of.

It's just something that kids find fun. If one person doesn't like it, they'll band together and bully the person who's different from them.

At this moment, Baili Wanwan's anger made her appear as an oddity in the eyes of the children.

"Come on, come on! You're not a child from our village, you were stolen! We won't play with you."

The children took turns pushing Bailiwanwan.

Baili Wanwan was no match for these children and was quickly pushed to the ground.

They jumped for joy as they watched Baili Wanwan being bullied.

"You guys are really going too far!!"

Baili Wanwan clenched her fists tightly, finally unable to hold back any longer, and got up to teach these children a lesson.

She channeled her spiritual power, controlling the seawater, and poured it all over the children.

The children were suddenly soaked, and screamed in fright, running away as fast as they could.

But soon another water wall was built along the winding road, cutting off the children's escape route.

The children were all too young and had never seen anything like this before. Some turned pale with fright, while others huddled together, staring at Baili Wanwan in terror.

"You naughty kids, are you still going to say bad things about Grandpa Wan?!"

Baili Wanwan walked up to the group of children, put her hands on her hips, and glared at them.

They were terrified that Baili Wanwan would punish them again for controlling the water, so they were too scared to speak and just shook their heads.

Baili Wanwan glared at them and warned, "If I ever see you saying those things again, I'll beat you up every time I see you! You already know how powerful I am!"
