Chapter 147 revealed it

Kongling was furious when she saw Yuan Qi's smiling face. This innocent-looking baby face had caused her senior brother's soul to be torn apart and eaten by those evil spirits, so she and her master and uncle couldn't even ask what happened to her senior brother's soul.

My senior brother disappeared from this world without a trace, and all the evil spirits that he and my master used to create also vanished without a trace.

This Yuan Qi is truly despicable.

She really wanted to stab her to death.

Yuan Qi had already noticed the murderous intent in the other party's eyes, but she wasn't nervous at all. This was on the street, and she couldn't very well start a fight in the street. Besides, even if she did start a fight, she would definitely lose.

Kong Ling's lips curled up slightly, revealing a sarcastic smile: "You're so young, no more than ten years old, right? What kind of skills could you possibly have? You couldn't find a Taoist temple to stay at, so you're out here swindling people, can you?"

She spoke loudly, and the people selling vegetables around her all turned to look. Ma Zi and Zhang Liu stared at her, thinking that this woman was just looking for trouble.

Yuan Qi wasn't in a hurry. He squinted at Kong Ling's face and said, "Whether I'm a swindler or not, you'll know once you try. Judging from your face, your mother died at birth, and your father died when you were a little over a year old. You were raised by your older brother."

Kong Ling was greatly shocked. This little bastard did have some real skills. Before she came out, she had deliberately used magic to change her appearance a little, but the other party still saw through the magic to see her original destiny.

Judging from the other party's expression, Yuan Qi knew that she was right. That little trick was no problem for her. If Tu Shan used a deception technique to cover his face, she really wouldn't be able to tell. But Kong Ling's deception technique wasn't good enough.

Kongling was unconvinced. She didn't believe that the other party could really see through her face; maybe it was just a lucky coincidence.

"You're just guessing, aren't you?"

Yuan Qi mocked her: "Whether I'm guessing or not, you know in your heart."

Kongling snorted, still unconvinced: "Perhaps it's just a coincidence. Go on."

Yuan Qi knew that the other person was not convinced by her, so she continued, "You two siblings depended on each other for survival. Your brother was two years older than you and took good care of you. You two wandered around begging and traveled to many places, and you were often beaten and bullied. When you were seven years old, you met your master, who took you in, taught you Taoist magic, and taught you the principles of being a good person. From then on, you were able to live like a human being. But your brother died of illness, and you were very sad."

Yuan Qi smiled sarcastically, not revealing her identity: "You are destined to dedicate your life to the Daoist sect and will not get married. If you can be wholeheartedly good, you may be able to avoid a violent death."

Kong Ling was furious. These words almost exposed her identity, and the other party said that she would die a violent death. How could she not be furious?

Those who follow the Daoist sect can calculate the heavens, the earth, and others, but they can't calculate themselves. Kongling also looks to the divination, but she has never calculated her own fate. She stared at Yuan Qi with a sinister look: "It's not certain whether one of us will die a violent death. Little girl, you're not much better off. You lost your mother at birth, and your master is unreliable. Although many men admire you, they all have ulterior motives. You are destined to be alone for the rest of your life."

Yuan Qi didn't care about that, but the fact that the other person pointed out her destiny still left her feeling rather bitter. It turned out that so many people liked her, yet not one of them was willing to spend their life with her. Oh well, she had originally planned to dedicate her life to the Daoist sect and attain immortality anyway.

Kongling took out ten copper coins from her purse, slammed them on the table in annoyance, and got up to leave.

Zhang Liu walked over with the vegetable vendor, Ma Zi, with great concern. Zhang Liu comforted her, "Don't worry about her, this person is just a madman."

Yuan Qi's face remained expressionless as he calmly swept his gaze over the two of them: "Don't worry, I'm fine. She's not crazy either; she's the last disciple of Daoist Xuanqing of Wuji Palace, and she's incredibly skilled."

Zhang Liu and Ma Zi looked at each other in astonishment. Ma Zi muttered, "Have you met an expert?"

Yuan Qi smiled and proudly raised his chin: "I'm still better."

There weren't many people around at noon, so Yuan Qi decided to just grab a quick bowl of noodles at the noodle stall. Mei Zi placed the noodles in front of her, with extra pieces of meat on top, making them look incredibly tempting: "Eat up. If you're still hungry, I'll make you another bowl."

Yuan Qi looked up and said, "Thank you."

Just then, a white figure walked over, sat down familiarly, and said, "I'll have a bowl too, with extra meat."

Yuan Qi turned his head and saw that it was Bai Youhui, whom he hadn't seen for many days. He asked sarcastically, "It's been so many days. Have you reformed and stopped loitering on the streets?"

Bai Youhui glanced at her with displeasure: "Look at what you're saying, how am I just wasting my time? It's making friends, do you understand?"

Yuan Qi joked with him for a couple of minutes before asking seriously, "It's been a while, where have you been?"

Bai Youhui sighed deeply: "Don't even mention it. Ever since my second uncle's family moved out, my parents have been saying that it's our third branch's turn to rise up. They told me to study hard and even hired a white-haired tutor for me. He's been nagging me with classical Chinese all day long. My ears are practically calloused. My parents are forcing me to study. Do you think I'm cut out for it?"

Yuan Qi chuckled. Bai Youhui was a restless person; it would be better to let him die than to let him study quietly.

"So you snuck out?"

Bai Youhui chuckled: "Seventh Sister understands me best. I hate studying the most. Just seeing those words gives me a headache. Look at my face, do you think I'll achieve anything in my studies in the future?"

Yuan Qi chuckled and shook his head: "You're really not good at studying, but studying helps you understand principles and broaden your horizons. You should read more books; it will always be useful."

Bai Youhui glared at her with displeasure: "How can you speak so maturely at such a young age, just like my parents? Seventh sister, I've come to tell you something strange today."

Yuan Qi asked unhurriedly, "Has something happened to your family again?"

Then she started shoveling noodles into her mouth.

Mei Zi brought over a bowl of noodles and placed it in front of Bai Youhui: "Young Master Bai, please enjoy your meal."

Bai Youhui knew that Meizi was mute before, so he was very surprised to hear her speak: "Oh ho, you can talk now, little girl, congratulations."

Mei smiled sweetly: "Thank you, Young Master Bai. It's all thanks to Miss Seven. Miss Seven is very capable."

Bai Youhui nodded vigorously: "You're right, Seventh Sister is indeed very powerful."

After making a couple of jokes, Bai Youhui continued, "Didn't my second uncle move out? A few days ago, he somehow got hold of a big golden toad and put it at the door. And you know what? His shop's business really improved a lot. My dad even told me, 'Did you miscalculate? He thinks my second uncle's luck is really good.' But who knew that good times wouldn't last long? Last night, someone smashed my second uncle's big golden toad. I don't know who did it."
