When Qu Jian'er returned to the filming location with everyone, Director Liu stopped Sun Buhui.
The two fell behind the crowd.
Director Sun regained his composure: "What are you doing?"
Director Liu gritted his teeth: "That's a question I should be asking you!"
Director Sun waved his hand: "Anyway, I won't make you pay any money."
Director Liu was both amused and exasperated. He said seriously, "It's not about who pays the money at all. Tell me, why do you act like you've seen a ghost and fawn over her every time you're around her?"
Director Sun said mysteriously, "Once you realize how capable she is, you'll be even more serious than I am."
Director Liu couldn't help but scoff: "Stop talking nonsense, unless she is the heir of one of those great families, or one of the princes of the empire."
Director Sun shook his head: "No, that's not it."
Director Liu, hands behind his back, said, "Hmph, then I would never fawn over her! Hey, what are you doing?"
Director Sun said with utmost seriousness, "I'm going to remember what you said, so I can see you get slapped in the face later."
Director Liu's lips twitched.
Speechless, I distanced myself from my naive childhood friend.
Many members of the production team were waiting for Qu Jian'er to be driven away, but instead, Qu Jian'er came to offer incense.
Zhu Ruoqi was the first to disbelieve it. She stood up and protested: "Qu Jian'er is a fraud. How could she light incense? Director, you've probably been fooled by her innocent appearance. I don't believe that she can make it work when everyone else can't!"
Chen Ping chimed in, "Yes, the director shouldn't act impulsively. He should think it over. If she really had talent, would she be being attacked online and not even dare to talk back?"
Director Sun, like a haughty little princess, said: "A bunch of blind fools, but I can't blame you. I was just as blind as you back then, but now my eyes are wide open!"
Director Liu rubbed his eyebrows: "Don't embarrass yourself."
Zhu Ruoqi sneered: "Did you hear that? The director told you to stop embarrassing yourself, so get down here!"
Qu Jian'er looked at Zhu Ruoqi with a deep gaze, as if she were looking at a mentally challenged child.
Zhu Ruoqi choked, about to say something more: "Qu Jian'er, you..."
Director Sun stepped forward and said, "Old Liu was telling me not to embarrass myself. Why did you say that? What if Teacher Qu misunderstands? If she gets angry, are you sure you can appease her?"
The commotion attracted a group of people, including guests, assistants, and crew members. They all came over and peered around.
Everyone was incredulous when they heard Director Sun's words. Was this really the same strict Director Sun Buhui from before?
Is it really not someone impersonating someone?
Director Liu couldn't bear to look at him: "I told you not to embarrass yourself, but you're just getting more excited. How could I possibly know someone like you?"
"Knowing me is a blessing you earned in your past life. Okay, everyone stop interrupting." Director Sun pushed aside Chief Director Liu and once again transformed into a fan of Qu Jian'er: "Come on, focus the lights on our Teacher Qu! Teacher Qu, you can begin!"
Qu Jian'er's eyes twitched.
She never expected that Director Sun would turn into a devoted fanboy who would "unconditionally cheer for her."
Everyone looked utterly shocked, as if they had seen a ghost. They even wanted to shake Director Sun awake and ask him what was going on.
Not to mention Zhu Ruoqi, who was angrily confronted by Director Sun. She clenched her fists, her long fingernails pressing imprints into her palms.
Qu Jian'er casually picked up three incense sticks, turned them upside down in front of everyone, and then spun them around.
Incense burns without fire.
Wisps of smoke drifted away on the wind, like the turbulent waves in everyone's hearts. Though they floated away without understanding why, they left a deep mark on their souls.
Smoke swirled around the production crew.
It dispelled the invisible chill.
Everyone gaped in disbelief, their mouths agape in disbelief.
Qu Jian'er's tone was arrogant, domineering, and incredibly cool: "Now that I have a team to help me make money, those who are blind to my abilities would better back off. All parties should listen to and follow this order, otherwise, don't blame me for reminding you of the fear of being controlled by work."
Everyone: "..."
As the incense burned out at an unscientific speed, the resentment that had gathered around began to scatter and flee.
The resentment lurked in the corner, gradually gathering into a shape resembling both a cat and a leopard, and one could vaguely see it trembling.
Qu Jian'er pulled out a stack of modified business cards from her pocket, seizing the opportunity to promote: "Come on, let's try to get one for everyone, pass it around, and pass it around in an orderly manner."
(“▔□▔) Everyone: What to do? There are too many things to complain about, I don’t know where to start.
Director Sun was the first to react. He became serious and acted as the temporary team leader for the program: "Don't make a mess, don't fight over it. If there aren't enough, two people can share one."
(__)ノ|Everyone: Nobody's going to grab it... Wait, why are you joining in the commotion?
Qu Jian'er spoke like a pyramid scheme leader: "I am dedicated to building a top-notch service brand, specializing in treating any difficult or complicated illness. Our company adheres to the basic principle of honest operation. No success, no fee, eliminating any worries. Feel free to contact us anytime!"
Zhu Ruoqi didn't have any business cards, nor did she want any: "What are you up to? Don't think that just because incense happened to light, you can take this opportunity to promote your feudalistic ideas!?"
She deliberately revealed Qu Jian'er's abilities by chance, just to see Qu Jian'er become the target of everyone's hostility.
Chen Ping's face darkened: "Qu Jian'er, this is not a place for you to promote superstition."
The others, however, were engrossed in looking through the business cards.
The business card was made of ordinary three-ply sanitary napkins, both affordable and inexpensive. It read "Qingxu Temple Co., Ltd." and a contact number.
Wu Na's lips twitched, and her pupils dilated, clearly surprised by Qu Jian'er's abilities.
She bit her lip hard.
The thought of finding Qu Jian'er to get to the bottom of things lingered in her mind for a long time.
Qu Jian'er had achieved her goal and didn't want to deal with the troublemakers: "You two are like winter green onions—their skin is dry, their leaves are rotten, but their hearts won't die. Do you think your heart will stop if you don't come out and jump around? Director Sun, please transfer the money to the terminal."
