Chapter 10 Going to the Police Station for Tea

"Hello, is this Chenxi?"

Chen Xi didn't even open his eyes, and replied dazedly: "Yeah."

She briefly introduced herself as being from the Public Security Bureau of City A, which was the city where Chenxi was currently located, and that their director wanted to invite her to the bureau for a seat and some tea.

Chen Xi chuckled and agreed to his request.

The appointment was for nine o'clock, but Chen Xi was not in a hurry at all. She simply washed up, tied her hair into a high ponytail, put on a light green sportswear, and went out simply.

I had breakfast at the landlord's stall and then walked slowly towards the Public Security Bureau.

On the other hand, at the Public Security Bureau, Director Zhang Hua and Criminal Investigation Team Captain Chongye were already sitting in the reception room.

Zhang Hua: "Is the video you sent me last night credible?"

"I can't guarantee it, but when she gets here, we can verify it."

Chongye was not quite sure either. His good brothers had finished their undercover mission a few days ago in order to solve a case, and they escaped with the criminal evidence.

But they suddenly lost contact, and the locator showed that the last place they disappeared was in a remote mountain area.

"Yeah, but why haven't they arrived yet? It's already past 8:50."

When Chongye heard this, his heart sank. Could the master be fake?

The two people in the reception room fell silent, no one spoke. When the clock on the wall showed nine o'clock, there was a knock on the door.

Chongye and Zhang Hua looked at each other and immediately stood up to open the door.

There was a young girl standing outside the door. She was fair-skinned and pretty. The simple sportswear looked very good on her. She was thin and small, and looked very fragile.

She nodded towards Chongye and said calmly, "Nine o'clock. Not late."

He walked in around the stunned Chongye.

"Are you Chenxi?" Zhang Hua asked uncertainly.

Even though he had seen the screen recording, he was still shocked when he saw the real person. The girl was too young and skinny, and she didn't look like a master with profound Taoist skills at all.

But Chongye was screaming inwardly, "Did this person come on time? Wasn't there traffic?" Or did she calculate it? In that case, they didn't need to verify it at all.

Chen Xi found a seat and sat down, "It's me."

After saying that, she didn't say much, just sat there quietly, looking lazy and as if she had no bones.

Zhang Hua looked at her, feeling extremely anxious. Why didn't this person play by the rules? Normally, when someone was called here, shouldn't he ask the reason?

Why didn't she say anything? She almost fell asleep comfortably in the chair.

Chongye was so anxious that he poked Zhang Hua's arm and said, "Tell me, this little girl is about to fall asleep."

Zhang Hua glared at him, strained his voice, and said, "Chenxi, aren't you curious about why we called you here?"

Chen Xi opened his eyes, glanced at them calmly, and raised the corner of his mouth: "Anyway, they are not arresting me."

Zhang Hua & Chongye: "......"

"Did you calculate this too?"

Chen Xi raised his eyebrows and said nothing.

Chongye was an impatient person. Seeing them practicing Tai Chi, he was extremely anxious. "Oh, okay, let me tell you, Master, we invited you here this time because we want you to do us a favor."

Seeing the little girl looking at him seriously, he continued, "One of our partners successfully obtained evidence from an undercover organization a few days ago. He lost contact when he escaped and was last seen in Changcui Mountain."

Chen Xi: "And then?"

Chongye said in a low voice: “We searched for two days but couldn’t find anyone. We only found a little bloodstain, which confirmed it was his.

We would like you to come with us. We know he is not going to make it, but he is a hero and we will take him home even if he is dead."

Chen Xi didn't understand their comradeship, but she knew the little apprentice's scarlet eyes and painful expression when Fei Fei was struck by the thunder. She thought they should be the same at this moment.

"Okay, I'm not sure if I can find it for you, but I'll do my best."

Zhang Hua and Chongye hugged each other excitedly. Seeing two big, burly men like this, Chen Xi's eyes hurt. "Ahem...you guys?"

With this hesitant tone and a face full of disgust, Zhongye pushed Zhang Hua aside and argued anxiously: "You little girl, what are you thinking about? We are excited and thrilled."

Chen Xi smiled and said, "Life is too boring, I have to use my imagination to supplement it."

Afterwards, Chen Xi went back to make some preparations and followed them on a dedicated plane. Three hours later, they arrived at the nearest city to Yuncui Mountain.

A few of them got on the off-road vehicle that had been waiting for them, and arrived at their destination two hours later.

After getting off the car, Zhongye led Chenxi to their base while introducing:

"We've been searching here for several days. We've even asked for help from masters like you, but we've found nothing. Our superiors have issued an order: if we still can't find it within three days, we're to pack up and return."

Yuncui Mountain covers a large area and is densely wooded, which indeed adds great difficulty to the search work.

After hearing what he said, Chen Xi took out the compass he had prepared in advance from his pocket. Chong Hua saw it and said, "This won't work. We have asked a master to take a look before, but we didn't find anyone at the place indicated by the compass."

Chen Xi nodded. Just because those people couldn’t do it didn’t mean she couldn’t do it either. But she was a little worse than she was in her previous life. To be on the safe side, it would be better to keep a low profile.
